We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! The place is very well maintained, it was extremely clean and had everything we needed! The host was very prompt in responding to any questions I had!
Very relaxing stay at the Lake, and it was a bonus to have so many shopping and dining options near the house! Great local farms, too :-) Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation!
This was a perfect stay. House was spotless clean, perfect setting on the water, and host made everything easy over DM. Highest recommendation for this place.
The house and property are beautiful. The pictures do no justice. Having a private beach was amazing. My family and I look forward to staying in the future.

So glad you all had fun and enjoyed the beach and lake during your 4th of July summer vacation !! Come again :)
Comfortable house for family and friends' ski weekend.
This house was clean and spacious for our group which included two families with kids of all ages. The kitchen and living room were comfortable and cozy. Cooking and hanging out was easy due to the well-appointed kitchen and general layout. The basement provided a great hang-out space for the kids with plenty of room to play and sleep. The host was very helpful and communicative when we had a few questions. The location was convenient and the drive to Ragged Mountain was easy. Overall, this is a great property.
What a wonderful home! The lake access was exactly what we wanted. The kids spent all day swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Tons of kid friendly books and games in the house as well. And the kids loved their "own" living room in the lower level with their bedroom. Beds were very comfortable, and bathrooms clean stocked with supplies. A very relaxing and fun vacation!
My family and I enjoyed this property so much! The grounds were wonderful; kids loved waking up and walking down to the lake to swim, kayak and go fishing. A few nights we did a fire and when it rained we went inside for some board games.
Property was well maintained, just as advertised and perfect!

Thanks Rachel so glad you all had a 5 star stay! Come again anytime :)
This home is on a smaller NH lake with less boat traffic and noise. Excellent for using the kayaks and paddle boards provided.
The house was clean and well stocked with kitchen & BBQ utensils, dinnerware, and cookware. Toiletries were well stocked and appreciated.
The private beach and campfire ring made for enjoyable memories too!
A pair of bald eagles nesting on the island across from the home and watching them training their young was a nice surprise.

Thanks Mark - so glad that you all had an excellent 5 star stay!
We had an amazing time at the Zen Den and would certainly love to return. The set-up was wonderful for 2 families with 3 kids. The lake was beautiful and we used the SUPs and kayaks every day. We saw a family of bald eagles up close and personal! All the details were communicated clearly and the house was clean and nice. The yard was perfect for relaxing and games. It was hard to leave. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and for being responsive hosts!
Property is top notch, being able to bring my pets was amazing and they really enjoyed being here. However, if you are looking to spend a lot of time in the water; beware this lake is very shallow and mucky.
The house and amenities were immaculate (5 stars), communication with the owner was great, Kayaking and sunsets were enjoyed by everyone. Vacationing with my two kids, I expected to be able to swim versus to just wade in the water. Had I known that this beach location was not swimmable, I would have picked another property.

Hi Luisa,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review, I am glad that your entire family all had a great trip- including all your kids and two dogs! Glad that you loved our property and for the high praise.
I must say I am a tad surprised to hear of your comments about Silver Lake - as you didn’t mention anything or send me any messages at all during your stay.
To provide some more insight, I can say this is the first time I’m hearing a guest use words such as “mucky” or “not swimmable” in the 5+ year history of this home being rented out. We usually hear quite the opposite!
You mentioned that you and your family and new to vacationing up in the Lakes Region of NH, and perhaps you had some unrealistic expectations assuming the lake would be like the Caribbean (Any other guests reading this I will tell you up front that it’s not the Caribbean!)
Kids and families of all ages love Silver Lake - especially because, yes, it has two sandbars which are shallow depth areas - which tend to warm up quicker, and stay warmer longer, allowing for extended “summer fun” early in the season and late in the season too.
But Silver Lake also has depths of up to 20 feet in many parts of it - even right next to the beach in our backyard! Lots of great swimming is available here as many of the other reviews will attest. Next time ask me for tips on how to make your stay better, and I’ll tell you the best spots :)
Also, I would have brought over to you some pairs of great inexpensive “water shoes” which are available at the local WalMart Supercenter - they’re awesome for folks who may be a bit picky about the sand at the bottom of our beautiful New Hampshire lakes :)
In the future, might I suggest that you communicate important areas for your reservation up front with your host, and during your stay if you feel that any part of your stay is sub-par, so that we, the VRBO host community, can best help you.
Thanks again for staying with us.
We rented this house this August, and we really enjoyed our stay there. The kids are already lobbying to go back next summer! There were 7 of us there - three adults and four kids ages 10 to 14 years - and the house was great for our group.
The lake is really right in the back yard behind the house, and the yard and lake view is beautiful. The lake is very shallow at the edge, and the littler kids enjoyed just sitting in the water and trying to catch fish in a bucket. We also all enjoyed the kayaks that come with the house. The lake is one of the smaller ones in the lake region of New Hampshire, and it’s very lovely and peaceful. It’s also a nice, manageable size if you’re just an occasional kayaker.
The inside is very pretty, nicely decorated, and clean and well maintained. The owners have added a lot of thoughtful touches like labels on light switches, a binder full of restaurant information and menus, and baskets full of interesting sets of books (there’s a Where’s Waldo and a Fox Trot collection, which the kids all loved). There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out for quiet time, and also several spaces great for family games, puzzles, or TV watching.
Dimitry, the host, was super responsive and helpful. I realized the coffee maker was broken the first morning, and he had delivered a new coffee maker within a few hours. He was easy to reach over Vrbo messaging or text, and was very friendly.
Overall, I highly recommend this house!
The Zen Den had a beautiful view and a kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. They also had many amenities that would make the summer months very enjoyable. While we were overall happy with our stay, we do have a few concerns we’d like to mention as we felt we paid a premium price for our stay. First, there was an additional fee to access the on site hot tub, which was chemically unbalanced and had sand remains at the bottom of the tub from previous guests. Second, we found the sauna with sand/dirt on the floor and had to clean before usage. Third, we were disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the property. The cleaning fee at booking was extremely high. Upon arrival, we found beer cans and trash in the garbage can beside the hot tub, and visible cobwebs above the fold out couch in the basement. The most frustrating thing was that fact that we had to make every single bed. We understand the idea of ensuring you’re sleeping in clean sheets but to arrive after a long day of travel to discover we had to spend an hour making every single bed was ridiculous, especially when paying such a premium amount for the cleaning fee.
Lastly, the listing says it sleeps 12 - I think that’s a stretch considering that there are 3 bedrooms and room enough for only 1 couch to pull out.

Hi Jessica,
Thanks for staying at this Zen Den Lakehouse this February and I'm glad that you and your family all had a great stay! I'm happy that we were able to accommodate your early check in request (which we can't always do) and glad that I was able to personally meet up with one of your guests hours after you checked out to return items that your group left behind.
I appreciate your review, but I was surprised to see that it's 4 stars (one of only a few we've ever had at this property as almost all others 5 stars!) We are experienced expert Premier Hosts for many many years at this property so I wanted to just follow up and address a few points you had mentioned, for other guests who may be looking at booking this home in the future.
Keep in mind, you had not communicated with me at all during your 4 night stay, and didn't reply to my messages, and did not give me the chance to answer any of your questions / address any of your concerns.
To your #1 and #2 points- our hot tub (which is an extra amenity that we do not list in the property description because it's not always available) is sanitized by our professional cleaning crew before guests arrive if they request to have access during their stay (as you did) and sauna cleaned before arrival as well. When guests run outside to do cold plunges in the lake right in the backyard, barefoot, intermittently from the sauna to lake and hot tub and back to sauna and lake and then get back into the hot tub (as you and your group told me you all had been doing) then sand / dirt can get into the hot tub and sauna. We provide tools to help clean (rough rug to brush off debris, cleaning tool for hot tub, etc) but you never communicated this with me.
To your point about the beds not being made - that has been a COVID-era protocol that has remained in force at many local lake rentals. While we provide ALL clean and fresh linens that you would need for ALL sleeping spots in the home, guests make their beds upon arrival. This allows for guests to be assured of cleanliness, and for beds that are unused (pullouts, bunk beds, etc) to not waste linens.
To your point about the single cobweb in the ceiling corner downstairs, and the cans left behind in the single backyard trash can, I sincerely apologize for these items being overlooked of course.
We take great pride in the cleanliness of this home, which is why we have had the same professional cleaning crew for over 4 years. We appreciate guests to know that the cleaning crew (our wonderful local Laurie and Linda!) absolutely put their hearts into preparing the Zen Den Lakehouse in anticipation of guests' arrivals.
We take pride in compensating them fairly for their hard work and dedication to this beautiful waterfront property : - )
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean and spacious. Accommodated our family. Kitchen was well equipped for meal preparation. Also dog friendly, allowing us to bring our four legged family members. Near ski areas. Lots to do! Would highly recommend.
