Well appointed MCM

I'm a regular visitor to the desert (Palm Springs), but this was my first time staying in Rancho Mirage. The property had lots of mid-century charm and was stocked well with most essentials needed for a long stay. The welcome gift from the hosts was also a nice touch. The property had recently been remodeled, but does show signs of wear/tear from normal rental use- most of which to be expected. There were a few issues that could have made the stay more enjoyable: - Communicating the rules of the property prior to booking or immediately upon a guest booking. While the property is dog friendly, the host informed me on my travel day down that we needed to keep our dogs from peeing on the grass. While there were only two small patches of grass, it was essentially impossible to keep the dogs off of it and had I known ahead of time, I likely would have chosen a different property. - The rules posted in the house were out of date and I recommend that this be changed. Prior to their remodel, the A/C couldn't be turned below 75. Since the rules still said this, we suffered in the heat for the first half of the month until finally I asked about turning it colder. At that point, I was informed it was o.k. to do so. - Some furniture showed a lot of wear/tear and some appliances (dishwasher and icemaker in the freezer) weren't fully functioning. Again, to be expected in a rental of this nature and this was addressed with the hosts who are working on repairs.
