Accommodations were just as described. Communication was seamless. The cabin was very clean. The location was excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay.
beautiful cabin in the perfect location. everything was as described. very clean and well maintained. beautiful outdoor seating/ fire area. good location for amazing hiking, restaurants , and shops. hope to stay here again
The proximity to the Acadia national park drew us in, but this little cabin is absolutely adorable- once you get used to the stairs! Perfect for a couple’s getaway or a lonesome traveling poet seeking inspiration and adventure
We spent three days and loved that we were far enough away for peace and quiet but close enough to be anywhere in Acadia in 30 minutes. Cabin was fun, clean and everything we needed.
Cozy cabin in very quiet neighborhood just outside of Southwest harbor. Hosts provide great info on local hikes, restaurants, etc. Stairs to upper bedroom are indeed steep as advertised but sleeper sofa on ground level is very comfortable. Outdoor firepit perfect way to finish the day. Would definitely stay here again.
Staying at the Poet's Cabin was a fantastic way to explore Acadia. From the thorough communication, to the ideal location, to the amenities, I would recommend Poet's Cabin to anyone. It was the highlight of our mother/daughter trip. We can't wait to come up again!
Adorable tiny home cabin! Perfect spot because you can get to so many things. Peepers and the fire crackling at night, along with hiking around Acadia National Park, made this a perfect experience. So glad to get away from reality for a couple days and just enjoy nature and good company.
We had such a wonderful trip to Maine! There is so much to do, don't sleep on Maine in the winter! Poet's Cabin was perfect for us, it was close to everything and very cozy!
Loved my stay at Poet's Cabin! The cabin was adorable, clean and cozy. It's even nicely decorated outside so you're charmed at first sight. The owners were fantastic and responsive, even when I arrived late at night, and provided a detailed guide to the area, tips and recommendations, as well as a heads up on a local event that affected local roads/travel. I only wish I could have stayed longer! If I return to the area, Poet's Cabin will be my first pick.
Our stay at Poet’s Cabin was perfect. It was far enough away from the business of Bar Harbor but close enough that we could drive over quickly and eat, shop, and do touristy things. The cabin was cozy and relaxing. So many great hiking trails around. The food recommendations from the owner were spot on! The wildlife around the cabin were fun to watch! We saw a lot of deer and wild turkeys.
Property exactly as advertised. Stayed w/ my teen daughter for Acadia visit. Really enjoyed being on the quiet side of things, yet easy drive to everything. Great communication from owner incl full listing of things to do, places to eat, etc. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at the Poet's cabin. It is a nice little place for visiting the Acadia National Park area. It also has a very good sitting area outside and the hosts are very helpful and welcoming! The only issue is that the door opening to the bathroom is very low (I'm 6'2 and hit my head multiple times on the top of the door frame), and the shower is very small. The home is exactly as advertised and a great place to stay, but wanted any other "taller" people to be aware before booking.
Amazing stay! Fresh flowers, a note, some sweet treats AND a bucket of ready-made ice- what more could one ask for on arrival?Perhaps some poems? Very cozy place with all the amenities needed. Front porch was a wonderful extension of the space. Bed was super comfortable. Sleeper couch was perfect (no dang bar). We explored the quiet side of Acadia and especially enjoyed the use of the provided paddle boards on Long Lake. Our last morning we woke up at 3am to hike Cadillac Mtn. Visit was too short - need to book again!
It was a first time visiting Acadia, and it was very nice to escape the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and the park visitors to the secluded quiet side of the island. Absolutely everything you would want or need was provided by the hosts. Never had a single problem. Saw some deer visiting the property. It was a very comfortable and quiet stay just as we had wanted.
We had a wonderful time at the Poets Cabin. Perfect location for our adventures in Acadia National park. Was so nice to come home every evening to a quiet and restful place. Carra snd Sean were perfect hosts; everything was as listed and better! So much to do! Did not have a chance to take advantage of all the property has to offer! Thank you so much for sharing your awesome cabin with us! Should our travels find us back in Acadia, we will surely revisit! Highly recommend this property!!
This tiny house had it all! Very efficient and comfy! We cooked, used the grill, and the fire pit for s’mores. We also rode the 3 bikes and took the cooler with us for our drinks. Perfect place for two peeps but we were fine with our 23 year old daughter on the sleep sofa! Highly recommend! Our hosts thought of everything. Their attention was in the details! Thank you
The cabin is close to Acadia National Park in Manset. It is very cozy inside and out. The bedroom, in particular, is nice and cozy and a great retreat after a long day of hiking. The kitchen is also very well equipped, and we were able to cook great meals. There are little signs everywhere explaining how everything works. That was very helpful. The selection of books and games is also great.
Outside, there are nice seating areas and a fire pit. If you look out of the window early, there is a chance to see wildlife. We saw deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, and many different birds. It is simply beautiful there and very relaxing.
We hiked the suggested trails and were very impressed by the diversity and beauty of nature.
We had the absolute pleasure of working with Carra and Sean to stay at Poet's Cabin and the Southwest Harbor Hideaway House (house next door) for our small wedding. It was absolutely perfect! We could not have asked for better hosts! Wow, the little touches to make our stay special were above and beyond and we are so thankful! This cabin is in a nice location close to downtown and was perfect for the two of us to stay after the wedding was over. The steps are quite steep so be aware if you have issues with stairs. We would stay again!
I booked this property 7 months before the trip & have been looking forward to this stay since! Poet’s Cabin is such a beautiful little A-Frame for a cozy weekend exploring Acadia! We thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful details, board games, hiking guide, and fire pit! The kitchen has everything we needed to cook dinner for 2 nights. The bed was perfect - tip: the stairs are a bit steep because it’s an A-Frame, I went up & down the stairs sideways for extra caution. We cannot wait to come back for another stay! Thank you, Carra & Sean!!

We live a dual lifestyle in both the amazing Acadia National Park of Maine and the wonderful Mad River Valley of Vermont. We love nature and the outdoors. We work on various environmental initiatives, enjoy New England's incredible craft beer scene, and spend our time skiing, cooking, gardening, and traveling. We love the Vermont and Maine ways of life and are excited to share them with others!
