Sun drenched cozy cottage on budding 17 acre homestead
Wannagetaway? Nestled in the hills of old Vermont, our remodelled studio cabin provides the perfect opportunity to unwind and reconnect. Full kitchenette and outdoor grill allow you to engage your inner foodie while enjoying your favorite glass of indulgence. From sunrise coffee on the front porch to sunset libations on the side porch glider, Sol is bathed in light all day. A natural birch 4 post bed with linen sheets perched in front of the fireplace will seamlessly melt you into dreamland. Semi secluded sitting area in grass field directly behind cabin with fire pit and another fire pit located near our brook for you to enjoy (Firewood available for purchase).
We live in a very peaceful and rural area of north central Vermont which provides a great mix of quiet and privacy, but is also with in an hours drive to most of the states interest points. There are 16 ski resorts within an hours drive, as well as breweries, State Parks, lakes and more. Fine dining is available within 30 minutes in multiple directions. Sitting at just over 1600’, we are in a unique microclimate that sometimes get a bit more snow than our surrounding towns. Our neighborhood is all tree lined winding dirt roads that weave along a tributary of the White River. Take a walk up the road to our closest neighbor who has a lovely Gotland sheep farm. The sheep and their guardian llama Alaska are typically grazing right by the road in front of the main barn. Kim is also a brilliant fiber artist and occasionally teaches various classes so please feel free to inquire about those if interested. Continue up the road to the dead end and turn left for breathtaking sunset views. If you're looking for something a little more sweaty, grab your bike or head out on a run "around our block" (about 4.5 miles) that takes you around and down to the bustling river, then leads you on a steady incline to an enchanted foot trail that winds up the hill and back around to the top of our road. Dirt roads abound and we're happy to help you figure out a path to explore =) We are also close to several snowmobile trails should you be inclined to stay with us while traveling the VAST.

This is the cuties little cabin. Beautifully decorated, super clean, and well stocked with everything you need. The weather was cold, snowy, and rainy but inside the cabin was amazing warm.
Everything you need in a quiet little setting. Beautiful surroundings and extremely friendly hosts. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.
The cabin was nicely appointed andtheremote and rural location was just what I was looking for. A bit further from town(s) than I realized but that was not a problem. Also not quite prepared for the unpaved roads but not a problem as I have often driven on dirt in other places. Hosts very helpful and hospitable.
My girlfriend and i stayed here to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Vermont woods. This small cabin was perfect for us and the hosts were very nice and welcoming. If we ever come back to Vermont we will definitely stay here again!
It's so peaceful here. The home was very inviting and a great place to relax. The owners are very kind and thoughtful. We will definitely stay here again!
This was a wonderful home base for our first visit to Vermont. We’ve become avid hikers and nature lovers, so we wanted something a little off the beaten path but with all the creature comforts we needed to unwind after a 12 hour drive there and 12 hour hikes. The hosts were very accommodating, even leaving us a cooler with ice to help keep food cold since there’s only a mini fridge and we stayed 4 days. The property is beautiful and looks like the land around it, which I loved. We slept like logs and enjoyed some meals cooked there and hot showers. Had everything we could need (besides a microwave). It was very clean and inviting, and we managed to find several trail heads and some shopping during the rainy day of our trip within 1-2 your drive around. No complaints, no notes, wonderful hosts and stay!
We loved staying at this lovely cottage. Very comfortable bedding, nice bathroom/shower, gas stove warmed up the space beautifully, and the kitchenette was fine for brewing coffee, storing our lunch stuff and beer/wine for two. We were able to bring our dog and walk the nearby road which was super quiet before heading off to explore the area. Really sweet spot.
Tidy and charming cottage on quiet backroad. Made a nice homebase for explorations in the area with our dogs. Excellent hosts - friendly family, kids, dog & flock!
We were so delighted with our cozy cottage!
It was super clean and it was perfect in every way!
We loved the fact that we could walk the trails and pick the wildflowers.
Thank you Erika and Keith for your hospitality.
This cabin was so peaceful. We loved the location. If you enjoy serene and quiet mornings, this is the place for you. It was decorated well and afforded us a nice reprieve after days of hiking or walking. I loved the fireplace, lovely time reading on the cozy couch with the fireplace going. I would definitely return if given the opportunity.
I loved the cabin specially during the night. Its so beautiful and calm its the place to be when you need peace of mind. I recommend anyone who would love to be in tone with nature this is the spot. Proprietors are amazing hosts. Looking forward in returning.
We both wanted a quiet getaway place for our first anniversary and this fit the bill to a T! Enjoyed meeting one of the owners and Tala. My wife, our dog and I all enjoyed ourselves immensely!
We couldn't have had a better experience here. The little cabin had everything we could have asked for (and more) and was the perfect getaway for us. Note it is a lot of driving on dirt roads to get there, but it is well worth it if you're looking for somewhere secluded to stage your trip.

Thanks for leaving the place so clean William! It was great having you guys with us and we appreciate the kind review. Hope to see you again sometime.
Our say at Keith's and Erika's cabin was a much needed respite for my wife and me. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay where we basked in doing nothing but enjoying the warmth and coziness of the cabin. We're planning on coming back soon and renting both cabins for our son and daughter-in-law and us. The only downsides were a leaky shower head that sprayed water on the bathroom ceiling and a lot of dog hair on the floor.
The cottage was exactly what you would expect it to be. Comfortable, clean, quite and magical. It was just what we wanted to get away for the weekend.
I would highly recommend this place if you want to get away from the busy life and to just stop and enjoy.
This was our first time using Vrbo and our hosts did not disappoint. The cabin was a lovely, bright space with welcoming touches of natural decor, soft bedding, rugs, and all the amenities for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were very hospitable and easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend a stay here if you are in need a quiet escape.

Thanks so much Lucy, it was a pleasure having you with us. We appreciate you choosing us, leaving the place so clean and for the kind review. Hope to have you with us again in the future.
We had a wonderful weekend at this quaint little cottage that had all the amenities we needed. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet at Casita Del Sol and plan a future trip to just immerse ourselves in the solitude on Scale Hill Road and it's beaurtiful natural surroundings. Keith and Erica are wonderrful hosts that make every effort to make your stay a memorable one.
La Casita Del Sol is a great little cabin in the woods. It's the perfect little space for two people looking for a getaway. The name of the cabin "house of sun" definitely lives up to the name as the sun shines bright in the cabin throughout the day, but then you can catch the sunset over the mountains at night. 10/10.
Keith and Erika are gracious hosts without being overly intrusive. Their children are sweet, the chickens are friendly, and the peacock is (literally) a hoot. The property is an open homestead within a deep Vermont forest. The cabin was perfect for a stress-reducing getaway. I'd love to visit again in winter.

It was nice having you and your puppers with us Anthony... we'd be happy to have you back anytime! (sorry for the delay, I never hit send when I typed this back in July)
I had a peaceful and lovely five-night stay at the casita. The property and surrounding area were so beautiful—even if I was a little late for the leaves. I love Vermont—I got such a good feel for the industriousness and creativity of Vermonters as I drove around the state. I plan to come back—I have a long list of things I wasn’t able to do this trip.

As a family, we decided to leave the comforts of our suburban shore community and venture here in hopes of connecting to nature as we build a loving homestead. Our dream for this property is to become a regenerative, self-sufficient, organic farm where we grow and nurture the land and ourselves simultaneously. In the years to come, we envision fruit and nut trees, permaculture, gardening and a small family of animals to share our space. We want our kids to be connected with the natural rhythms of nature learned from our land and the surrounding area. At the same time, given our rural setting, we also hope our cottages will bring an expansive and diverse group of people from whom our kids (and we) can learn and evolve with.
Why they chose this property
The location and lay out of this property spoke to us. A small house to keep us close, cottages to share life with new people or family, a babbling brook to sing us lullabies, open acreages to raise crops or graze animals, barn/work shop, maple trees for sugaring, berry brambles and woods for exploring. Far enough from convenience to learn patience and planning, but still a short drive to civilization when needed. It is quiet here, and safe. Neighbors are genuine and kind. The woods are still wild (fox, bear, moose, coyotes) and the region is simply beautiful.
What makes this property unique
Plans include adding a game room/social area for both cottages to enjoy. Visions of natural swimming pools and sauna are also in the works. Trails through our diverse woods and possibly some rustic forest accommodations may be in the works as well. We'd love to hear your ideas too!
