Welcome to your home away from home at The Sacramento River House.

A private riverfront vacation rental nestled right in the middle of the Shasta Cascade wonderland.

THE HOME
The Sacramento River House is a private riverfront getaway, ideal for families and large groups. The home is completely furnished with a fully stocked kitchen, and is comfortable and airy with a large back patio, two sunlit side yards, and is pet friendly.

The 2,100 sq. ft. home features, 3 bedrooms (1 King bed, 1 Cal-King bed, 2 bunk beds), 2 bathrooms (2 showers, 1 relaxing sunken tub), and comfortably sleeps up to 8 people.

Enjoy riverfront views on the back patio, perfect for barbecuing and entertaining. Cozy up to the fire-pit and enjoy the sunset, practice your swing on the driving range, or relax in our spacious family room, complete with a wood stove for cooler months.

THE PROPERTY
Nestled in the middle of the Shasta Cascade Wonderland, a 1000-foot private driveway leads you to onto the 14-acre property with the main home and barn. Take a walk to the field behind the home to enjoy over 400 ft. premier Sacramento River access and views, along with your own private boat dock. Continue exploring the sprawling property and you'll find towering valley oaks and black locusts planted by the first settlers over 150 years ago.

A great jumping-off point for the many outdoor experiences that Shasta Cascade Wonderland has to offer, the property is ideally located one mile from Interstate 5 and the Redding Municipal Airport, 20 minutes from Lake Shasta and Whiskeytown Lake, and one hour from the Mt. Shasta Ski/Board Park.

Stay on the property and enjoy boating, fishing, a driving range, and other outdoor activities right in your own backyard.

Just down the road, enjoy fresh produce and local cuts of meat at Kent's Meat and Grocery, a family-owned grocery and sundries store with an on-site butcher and fabulous deli, fresh produce, and the best meats, wine, and spirits in town.

A classic red barn that comes with a full kitchen, upstairs loft, bathroom, stereo system, heating and air, and a ping-pong table.

This our second time staying here- once for a wedding and once for a birthday/family weekend. The property is beautiful, lots of space for kids to run around, and a lot of different ways to set things up if you’re having an event. This was such a wonderful home to stay at! First off the location on the river is amazing. The property owner has lots of things to keep the teens busy and there is plenty of space. The home had plenty of amenities already there and it made for a very “at home” feel. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time staying at the property. We made this our hub to travel to all places around like Shasta caves, sundial bridge, Lassen national park, mccloud falls etc. It is 10 mints to Redding downtown. The barn was amazing for kids and adults to wind down and play. Overall a great stay. Highly recommended

Raised in the Shasta Cascade region, Scott Swendiman has enjoyed the great outdoors of this area for the past 50 years. He is a bit of a local historian, is deeply involved with the community, and has been a real estate broker for the past 4 decades.

Scott fell in love with the property as soon as he saw it back in 1996. Along with his three daughters, and the help of many friends and other family members over the years, he has turned the property into an inviting family retreat, constructed the barn, hosted birthdays, and reunions. Scott takes pride in knowing that this beautiful location will live in the memories and photos of every experience that takes place at this cherished Sacramento River House.
