Wonderful home and beautiful property

The home far exceeded our expectations. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house is comfortable and perfectly setup for guests. It is a short drive to the beach and other attractions. The kitchen is well appointed and a a great space to cook for a large family. The deck is comfortable (houses a professional grille), and offers beautiful views of the surrounding property. This is a gem and quite unique for South County, Rhode Island.

Racist !!!

We felt very bad with the bad treatment on the part of the host of this property, after having paid and receiving the confirmation of the reservation they canceled us 2 hours before check in without any explanation. After having done shopping and having driven 3 hours away to the city where this property was located. For us it was a racist act because I have a Hispanic surname which was in my reservation, I am not interested in discrediting anyone with this but customers should be treated more delicately when canceling a reservation which was made 4 days before. At least we expected a call or an apology email from the host of the property, but at no time did that happen. If you have a property that is available for 16 people according to the publication and at the time of renting it is supposedly not available for this capacity, the problem is with the host for having a false description.

Disaster

I booked this property far in advance for my daughter’s graduation. I had received numerous confirmations. I was honest about the amount of people staying and was even charged extra per person per night. Host responded immediately when I informed her of the increase in the nummb of people, and charged me immediately because it was An opportunity to grab more money. In the few days before the stay, I had not received any information for arriving and gaining access to the house, so o left several messages with the host and she didn’t reply. The day of arrival. I reached out again and again, received no response. I then tried the owner by phone and the number listed was not taking calls. We arrived from out of state, after a 4 hour car ride with my family including my 82 year old mother,, my sister with a broken ankle in a cast, a dog, infants, etc. we had no access to the house. The house was in bad disrepair, broken furniture outside, rusted and broken fire pit and BBQ, grass was knee high and there were broken, dried out Christmas decorations everywhere, even visible inside through window, including a dead Christmas tree. This is May. There was a ramshackle garage there as well. So, there we were with five cars, loaded with people and groceries including ice cream, butter, milk, steaks, you name it with NO place to go and no way to keep our groceries cold. Trying to relocated a large group of people and a dog on graduation weekend was impossible. I was devastated
