"River Rose" - Riverfront Ranch, 5 Minutes to Whiteface!

Situated on the West Branch of the Ausable River, this spacious ranch in an ideal spot for your next Adirondack vacation. Right on the river, with a remote and romantic feel, the house is also close to the action--within walking distance to Wilmington and less than a five-minute drive to Whiteface Mountain Ski Area.

The living room boasts vaulted knotty pine ceilings and a huge river rock, wood-burning fireplace.* A long, four-season sunroom has walls of windows so that you can easily enjoy spectacular mountain and river views.

The large master bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, a sitting area, a private master bathroom with a stall shower, and more of those breathtaking views.

The guest room has a comfortable full-sized bed, and the bunk room has a twin-over-full barn wood bunk bed. There is a full shower-tub combo in the main bathroom. A washer and dryer are also available for your convenience.

Everything you need to prepare and enjoy a meal awaits you in the well-stocked, eat-in kitchen, with granite countertops. There is also a separate dining room with seating for six.

Not in the mood to make dinner? No problem! You can walk or drive to Wilimington's restaurants and stores. Lake Placid is 20 minutes away, and Ausable Forks is a 15-minute drive.

Come relax on our dock. Enjoy the views, go for a swim, or fish in the river. Please note: our dock is accessed via 45 moderately steep steps.

River Rose has a smart TV and free Wi-Fi.

Perfect size home for a family trip! It was beautiful, with wonderful views from the back room and master bedroom. Kitchen was well stocked. My kids fished crom the dock, kayaked, and the firepit was wonderfu! We enjoyed the house during the summer, my son wants to come back and snowboard in the winter! Owner was easily reached when we had questions and so quick to respond.

Excellent NYE getaway

We absolutely loved our stay at River Rose. The house was very clean and was perfectly set up for our family of 5. The views of the mountains and the river from the house were just breathtaking. It was perfectly situated for trips into Lake Placid and a stop at Whiteface right down the road. Our hosts were extremely helpful and attentive to any questions and needs we had. We can’t wait to return!

Simple accommodations convenient to whiteface

My daughter and I stayed at this cabin for a ski race at Whiteface. Location was great (on a very quiet side street just off the main drag), house is really basic but very clean and surprisingly spacious,beds and sofas were comfortable (appreciated the throw blankets on what was a very cold weekend!), and kitchen was functional for breakfast preparation. The view of the river from the master bedroom was a highlight. One suggestion: it would have been nice if the heat had been turned up before we arrived—it took a while to get the house to feel cozy and warm.

A Little ADK Gem

The River Rose was a perfect place for our group of 4. The cozy cottage is within easy access to all the area's attractions, as well as hiking trails and fishing spots. It is located in a private, quiet area right on the AuSable River, yet close enough to walk to town. The well-equipped kitchen made it easy for us to prepare meals. The host was easy to contact and very quick to respond. We especially loved having morning coffee on the enclosed porch with a view of the river and Whiteface Mountain. At night we sat by the firepit while gazing at the stars. I hope to return to the River Rose in the future and will recommend it to all of my friends.

Fantastic Find

The Adirondacks in the fall is a yearly trip for myself and friends. This is absolutely THE best place we have stayed. The back porch offers full windows with the view of the Ausable River below and a jaw dropping view of Whiteface and surrounding mountains. The firepit was great with enough chairs for all. The house was clean with all the amenities we could want. There were a couple restaurants in walking proximity as well as a general store. Yet you still feel secluded and private. Stairs down to a dock were easy to access and would be for most. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed this location and the views! It's always fun to try a new place and see how it works out each year by locations, etc. However, we loved this place so much I'm not sure I want to stay anywhere else again! Thank you to the hosts who were wonderful and responsive to any messages prior to arriving. Check in was a breeze!
