Very clean cabin and excellent host. Hot tub was amazing and so convenient right outside the back door. Bathroom is extremely small. Shower is very small. WiFi doesn’t work well.

We rented a one-bedroom cabin at Amberwood. Although convenient to Rockey Mtn NP, several issues made the stay problematic.Wifi was advertised in the listing. The WiFi was slow but available in the early mornings – between 5 am and 7 am. The rest of the time it was almost impossible to use. The listing said streaming was available; the wifi was too feeble to support it. The property manager claimed lightning was to blame, but the problem existed before the storms hit. We produced several system tests for the manager documenting the issues across multiple days. It never improved and no refund was offered.The property lost water service to all but one building for a period of 28 hours. After about 7 hours they brought jugs of water to drink, but we were unable to shower…after hiking all day. The bathroom is ridiculously small: 5 feet x 5 feet including a 30 in by 30 in shower. There was almost no space to store toiletries. The coin machine in the laundry was broken throughout our stay, and the driers ate our coins. We asked for but never got a refund.A propane heater was producing heat even though the thermostat was set to off. The only lamp in the living space had a broken switch. A picture fell off the wall one night. A fire alarm went off one night for no reason. The fan control chains were much too short for a person under 5 ft 8 in. While the property looks nice, these operational issues really affected our trip. At about 500/night we expected more.

Weekend getaway

The cabin was very clean, but could have used a few more items in the kitchen. Kitchen towels, pitcher, smaller mixing bowls, larger fry pan. The hot tub is one of the main reasons we picked this cabin, but it wasnt clean, smelled like dirty lake water and not private at all. Propane on grill needs checked more often, we ran out in the middle of bbqing the 1st night. Bathroom door needed to be lifted to shut and is very small. Again, very clean, but needs some more attention to amenities.
