A very special spot for a little getaway! Cottage is set up with everything you need and located away from the busy downtown tourist area of Boothbay Harbor. We took advantage of the kayaks and found our morning coffee on the little porch just delightful. Communication and instructions were clear- this property is highly recommended!
This cottage was perfect for us. We are low maintenance when vacationing. Shorts, tee-shirts and out the door. Our stay was very peaceful with a great view and a 10 min. walk took us to Boothbay’s restaurants and shops. The owner and everyone associated with him were kind and helpful.
Nice little cottage looking out over Linekin Bay. We really enjoyed being a little off the beaten path but a short drive or walk into Boothbay Harbor.

Not for people with environmental allergies.
We were not able to stay in this cabin due to our allergic sensitivities. Cabin looked as in photos, but it was too musty for us personally. Location was nice. The host worked with us, and the majority of our cost was refunded. While this place would be a nice stay for most, those with environmental sensitivities may want to consider alternative accommodations.
Small, but cozy, this waterfront cottage had everything we needed. Great location - just a short walk into the town.
The only improvements would be for Internet service, which often had no connection for long periods of time, and the steep gravel walkway which made hauling luggage difficult. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hi Kim! Thank you for your review. Will definitely be looking into a permanent resolution for the wifi! Hope to have you again in the future!
Property was well maintained, clean rooms and comfortable Bed. Kitchen is well equipped . Owners are so gracious and friendly . They live on the site . Property manager so great and attentive to all your needs and questions !
We spent our honeymoon at Nan and Mac's place. The location could not be more beautiful - a perfect vantage point to observe the sunrise, tides and wildlife in a quiet cove. The cottage is a studio with a small porch overlooking the water - perfect for us. We did a good amount of cooking and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved being walking distance to Boothbay while in a private setting. Would highly recommend!

So happy we found this place!!!
The little cottage on the cove is the perfect place to unwind, relax, and just be. Sit on the balcony and let nature soothe your soul. We spent six days here, some just relaxing and reading, taking out the kayaks, and others exploring Booth Bay Harbor and the surrounding area. Don't miss the Botanical Gardens. Nan and Mac are the perfect hosts, offering a well equiped and clean cottage and lots of ideas on things to do! We highly recommend this gem!!

We certainly enjoyed meeting you! Sitting by the picnic tables and picking out crab meat renewed our desire for the really fresh meat. Since then, we have had the neighbors in to pick as well. Buying the crabs directly from the fishermen is key. Hopefully you'll return again next season....Very sincerely, Nan and Mac

Tiny House Getaway
This cottage is the best of both worlds. Right on the water with complimentary canoe and kayaks along with walkability to beautify Boothbay Harbor. We took a fishing excursion and grilled striper one evening. And enjoyed walking to the nearby lobster co-op for soft shell lobsters and great live music. Cottage is nicely appointed, very clean and also quite small -- thus the "tiny house" reference. The owners are a charming couple who are very friendly and helpful.

Perhaps a better caption would be "Cozy Cottage Getaway" since it is a "cottage" located directly on the shore. The cottage has everything that a guest would need for a few days, a week or a month's stay and is fully self contained. It is located on a half acre with many places to roam and much outside seating on the porch, on the dock and in front of the cottage and well as a deck that all guests are welcome to use.
This cottage is very clean and has all the things you need. The view of the cove were very nice and we really enjoyed the kayaks. The cottage is easily within walking distance of the town area for food and drinks. That said, this cottage is small and we had lots of luggage from an extended trip. It made the cottage feel even smaller. The bathroom and shower area are really tiny.

I'm sorry that you did not have enough room for all your luggage in the cottage on your extended trip, but when you are only staying for 4 nights at a place, you really shouldn't bring enough luggage for a month. Perhaps leaving some luggage in the trunk may work for you in your future travels.

Kayak on a beautiful, quiet cove
Nancy and Mac were great hosts, very kind and helpful with information and stories. The studio cottage is comfortable, quiet and private. It was fun watching the lobstermen and tides going in and out. It is a short walk into town with many restaurant choices. We loved kayaking around Linekin Bay. Some area must-sees: Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Ocean Point, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Farnsworth Museum, Mt. Battie, Cap'n Fish boat tour of Boothbay Harbor and nearby islands (we saw seals, porpoises, osprey, bald eagles and lots of other birds).

John and Andy,
Thanks for your kind response. We enjoyed meeting you and hurry back soon! The autumn leaves are beautiful here in the Harbor.
My husband and I spent a wonderful week Lobster Cove Cottage. It was small but very well laid out and had fabulous views of the the water/cove. We unpacked our suitcases and put those back in the car and that gave us plenty of room in the cottage. We loved waking up and sitting on the deck with out coffee. We ate most of our meals on the deck too. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked several dinners as well as all of our breakfasts there. The cottage is in easy walking distance to Booth Bay Harbor and we enjoyed going into town in the evening. The owners were incredibly nice and very responsive when the WiFi went out briefly and needed to be rebooted. Overall we loved this cottage and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful cottage right on the water
My husband and I spent 4 lovely days here. The cottage is charming and very well maintained. The bed is nice and firm which we like. The use of the 2 kayaks was a selling point for us ... we were able walk about 25 yards from the cottage to the dock and then get in the kayaks and GO! It's a nice 15 minute walk into town where you can find many restaurants, stores, and various opportunities to go on boat trips. We took a great day trip to Monhegan Island one day and explored the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens another day (this is about 15 minutes away by car). We loved the East Boothbay General Store for breakfast and Oliver's at Cozy Harbor Wharf on Southport for lunch or dinner. (Both of these places are a short drive away but worth the trip if you have a car!)

Beautiful spot...fabulous location.
We stayed at this cottage for 5 nights. Nan and Mac were gracious hosts. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed for a fun few days away. Linens are not included...There is a fee...or bring your own. We had never incountered that before. The cottage was very comfortable and so quiet. It is a short walk into town so we never drove...so easy we did it several times a day. The deck looks out on the water and is serene and beautiful. The cottage is small but worked for us as we only ate breakfast and a lunch or two. The bed was comfortable. Would definitelly recommend.

Beautiful but NO Dock
The Cottage is VERY small. And the ad was fraudulent about a dock. "There is a dock for your kayak or use of our kayaks, included in your rental." There was NO Dock. Kayaks yes but you had to roll them up a hill and over 800 yards to the park. Not recommended for elderly. Requested clean towels for week two and were told where there was a laundromat. No oven. We bought them a card table so that we would have a table to use.

Hello Greg! As I had messaged to notify you as soon as I could, we had a storm that wrecked our dock, which is completely out of our control. And it is difficult within this small town to get it redone in a quick turn around. Otherwise I do apologize about the linens and will carry that advice into the future!

Adorable Cottage with Spectacular Views & Wonderful Hosts!
We wanted a nice getaway from our busy schedules to spend quality time together and relax. We came across this gem of a place which was small, cute and cozy but had everything we needed. The views from the cottage were amazing. We never even turned on the tv, we just sat on the porch, talked and admired the ever changing views of the Linekin Bay, from sunrises to sunsets. We managed to try out the kayaks, walked down the street to Boothbay Lobster Warf for some music and Lobsters, of course. Took a walk into town by crossing the footbridge which was only a few minutes away and it led to a quaint little town with numerous shops and restaurants. Walked around the bend to the park across the way and went in the water. Went for a short ride and Walked the rocks at the Ocean Point Walk for additional views of the bay. Also, When reading the reviews about Mac & Nan, they are not lying. Mac & Nan are the sweetest and nicest Hosts. We just loved listening and talking with them. They were also very helpful with their knowledge of the area. We hated to leave and were very sad to go, BUT, WE WILL BE BACK!!

Amazingly Sweet Stay with Nan & Mac on Linekin Bay!
Wow! My husband and I stayed for five nights at Nan & Mac's adorable little cottage right on the water in Linekin Bay. They were the sweetest hosts! We really enjoyed meeting them and talking about their experiences on the Bay. They invited us to a Lobster Bake one night and Mac fried us up some freshly caught Mackerel to taste. Truly wonderful people with big hearts. The cottage is perfect with an incredible view of the water and a little kitchen area to make your own meals. We rented a boat during our stay which we were able to keep on their dock. Couldn't be more perfect. The location is prime. A short 10 min walk to town over the hill behind the spectacular Boothbay Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. You get all the benefits of being able to walk to town but are on a pristine quiet inlet of Linekin Bay without all the hustle and bustle of busy Boothbay Harbor. Although the spot itself is remarkable, our favorite part of our time there was meeting Nan & Mac. We really hated to say goodbye at the end of our stay. We plan to come back again next year. Thank you Nan & Mac for sharing your beautiful spot with us and all of those who you host at your incredible place! You are the best! See you again next year!!! Jenn & Chris from Alameda, CA

Jenn and Chris,
Thank you for your kind review. It is our utmost desire to make sure that our guests have a unique experience visiting us on Linekin Bay in beautiful Boothbay Harbor, Maine .
Mac states that he hopes to cook you striper next season, but first he has to catch them.
Thank you for the miniature tripod gift . I have used it already taking a picture of me near my pin map that shows where my guests hail from.
We really enjoyed meeting you and can't wait for your return.

Perfect!!!
This little cottage was perfect! We have been visiting Maine for many years, usually with our two daughters. This time we were ALONE!! This is in a great location, it is quiet and has everything. Nan and Mac were gracious hosts. First, it was immaculate, small but for 2 just right! The kitchen is better than it looks - two burner top, full fridge and everything you need to cook. The things we really liked were all the outdoor areas to enjoy the ocean. There is a small deck, great for morning coffee and evening glass of wine. The dock system is great with two kayaks (we have rented them for the family before and it's not cheap) There are also chairs on the lawn that can be moved or a fire pit above!! The other thing that we loved was the fact that it was pretty quiet but you could walk over the hill and get lobsters for dinner or take the foot bridge into Booth Bay. There is a GREAT breakfast place to the right once you are over the hill, around the corner can't remember the name ?? Mama Jeans or something like that, very friendly, great breakfast. Mid Coast Maine is also filled with great towns to explore. Nan and Mac have this down!!! We enjoyed them so much we invited them to stay with us when they visit Lancaster County! Thanks Nan and Mac, we had a great time!! 💚

About the host
Hosted by Vanese Barnes
I am a young renter, my grandparents (the property owners) live on sight so you may see them time to time! I've grown up in central Maine with frequent visits to this property as a kid, it holds a special place close to my heart and I hope to share that experience with you as well!
Why they chose this property
When my grandparents first began this journey they came to love this neighborhood specifically because of the peace and quiet. The birds sing at daylight, ever changing tides come through our cove, lobstermen can be seen hard at work just across the cove, and beautiful sunrises are often seen! A beautiful place to be.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is located on the edge of town in a quiet, peaceful area. Being located in the cove allows for even more peace and quiet, while also being close to town and the hustle and bustle. Access to being on the water and downtown!
