This place was exactly as described! It is the perfect little getaway. The stairs are no joke, especially carring stuff back up them, but made for a good workout. If you are looking for a quite getaway, ON the water, this is it! And Vashon Is gets some of the credit too!! Overall, we already want to go back!!
This adorable, tiny, overwater cottage is the perfect place to stay. You will wake up each morning with the serene beauty of the sound. Seabirds and deer abound. And the mattress is a wonder of comfort. I almost don’t want to write a review because this secret gem will be so popular when word gets out! Nevertheless, count yourself lucky if you have the opportunity to stay here.
We had a wonderful time here. Barron was helpful and the check in process was simple. The location is cozy and quiet, and we loved having the tide come up under the cottage. We would definitely stay here again.
Our stay was wonderful!!! This cottage by the sea was quaint, quiet and private!!! Exactly what we were needing - we are looking forward to returning for another relaxing trip!!!

Shari was a perfect guest to have stay at the cottage, and I would welcome her back anytime.
This is a charming property that lives up to the reviews. We loved the location and the house was a perfect little oasis. Kitchen is well equipped to cook your meals every day. Host was very accommodating and communicative. Would definitely recommend and go back!
This property is wonderful!! We loved hanging out on the deck. It was especially endearing when the deer came to visit us. Accessible to town yet private and quiet! Perfect for our anniversary celebration ❤️
Barron's home is so comfortable and the location is really perfect—right on the water, and the trails in the woods across the street were fun to explore, too. The weather was on the cold and windy side, but the home was so cozy that we didn't care.
The house was absolute perfection. The view is magic and there are windows everywhere letting in so much light. The sun and the rain were equally enjoyable and I hope to visit again soon.
Thank you for the best weekend escape I have had!
The cottage is tiny (under 500 sq ft) but is perfectly designed and feels roomy. Sleep literally over the water and relax on the sunny deck. This cottage offers a unique, almost spiritual experience.
We rented the beach cottage for my sister's wedding weekend and it was the perfect spot for my wife and I to stay! Such a great location right "on" the water. I jumped in the sound every morning to wake up. The cabin is cozy but was great size for us. Bed was comfy and deck chairs per perfect for watching the Perseid meteor shower late into the night!
We would never have guessed that such a peaceful place existed only minutes from the hustle and bustle of mainland Washington State. Only a short ferry ride to Vashon Island and you can't hear a thing from airport or other mainland activities.
The house is a gem, located within the tidal zone and near very nice walking/hiking trails.
We are looking forward to our next visit!
The cottage is cozy, lots of light, right on the water. I startled a deer as I went down the path and nature continued to show me her children, heron, eagle, seal, seagulls shopping for a meal. The kitchen is very well supplied. Quiet, beautiful location. You can stay at the cottage or tour the island. Either way is delightful.
This was exactly what we were looking for as a getaway!!! The host is awesome to communicate with. The property has amazing views and the island is so easy to navigate. The people are so nice and welcoming. Do not forget to see the TROLL, it is a sight to see. We will be keeping this on our list to return to. Thank you so much for allowing us into your beautiful home.
Great little beachfront property. Small but clean. Expensive but quiet and peaceful. Definitely not for people with mobility issues.
Couch bed was difficult to open and I am very handy.
A bit overpriced but maybe off season is better?

Why they chose this property
Nestled on the secluded Burton Peninsula within a protected Audubon bird hot spot, the old-growth forest trails of Burton Woods are right across the street, and you are just a short walk or bike ride from kayak and paddleboard rentals at Jensen Point, the local Burton espresso stand, and a historic neighborhood market.
What makes this property unique
At high tide, the water flows directly beneath the wrap-around deck, creating a soothing rhythm to fall asleep to and allowing you to swim, paddle, or fish right off the edge. As the tide recedes, it transforms into a private beach oasis perfect for beachcombing and exploring the rich marine life of the Salish Sea.
Our comfortable 500-square-foot sanctuary features an organic rubber mattress, a fully equipped kitchen, and a massive bay window with an overhead skylight designed to capture breathtaking overwater sunrises.
While the cottage offers quiet seclusion down a private flight of stairs, it perfectly balances that with easy island access. The old-growth forest trails of Burton Woods are right across the street, and you are just a short walk or bike ride from kayak and paddleboard rentals at Jensen Point, the local Burton espresso stand, and a historic neighborhood market. Combining sustainable, low-footprint living with elegant comfort, this unique overwater retreat is a masterfully crafted haven designed for two people to completely unplug, watch the wildlife, and exhale.
