The space

This privately owned 500sf condo is located in the Ocean Manor Hotel and Resort right on the beach on the famous Galt Mile in Fort Lauderdale. The 7th floor open balcony and floor to ceiling hurricane grade windows and sliding door give you an unobstructed view of fabulous sunsets, the city of Fort Lauderdale, intracoastal waterway, and at night breathtaking city lights view rather than a dark ocean.
The studio is equipped with two queen size beds, one leather pull out sofa (queen size), 50" TV with HD cable channels, Apple TV, WiFi throughout the hotel, dining table and chairs for 4, full kitchen with regular stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, Nespresso machine (coffee and coffee pods not provided), cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes etc., walk-in closet, 4 piece bath, hair dryer, towels, 2 beach chairs, free Hotel beach towels, linens, safe, armchairs and tables on the balcony, drying foldable rack, iron and ironing board, push button keyless entry, AC and electric space heater, and more.
Valet PARKING available at $ 10.00/day payable at the hotel. For stays longer than 2 weeks reduced parking rates available.

A little history about The Ocean Manor Hotel:

The hotel was the first high-rise on the famous Galt Mile Beach.
It was a very famous spot for celebrities in the 60s and 70s. Well known people like Jackie Gleason, Frankie Fontaine, Robert Conrad, Eric Clapton used to frequent this hotel. Johnny Carson owned the penthouse and frequently entertained Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Other celebrities like Dennis Rodman and Michael Irvin have been seen at the hotel in recent years.

We had such a good time. The tiki bar was awesome. Our room was very nice other than the toilet didn’t flush very good. The pool area was nice but the pool water was hot and it wasn’t because it’s June in Florida I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale and the pool water was never that warm. The maintenance staff were very unfriendly and mean looking. The staff at the tiki bar were awesome. I would stay there’s gain.

Very homey!

This property was just what we expected. It felt like I was staying at my great aunt's condo. Very homey and comfortable, a bit outdated (the showerhead needs replacing, as well as new pillows), but it had everything we needed for a great price. The owners were very pleasant to deal with. We would stay here again. Please note that the balcony faces the city - not the ocean! This is noted in the property description, but could easily be missed. We actually enjoyed watching the city lights and the fancy cars at night :). This property has mandatory valet parking, which was $18/day when we were there. There is a Winn Dixie, Dunkin, and liquor store all just a short walk away. We ate at the tiki bar twice and it was yummy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will most likely book again!

Overall not bad place!

Overall location of this condo not bad and clean. There are some things the listing should share for transparency purposes. 1. The listing on VRBO and Rental Agreement show parking available for $10/ day, but it’s $18 and has not been $10 for quite some time per the resort. (Valet only) I received door code with note that valet was avail $15/day days prior. 2. You are not allowed to take your own cooler, food or drinks through Tiki Bar. Understand not bringing these to Tiki Bar, but you can’t make it TO the beach without walking past security (with sign stating they can check your bags to pass) That means you are limited to purchasing only from Tiki Bar on your beach days. The fact there is no mention of this is misleading when booking. 3. Be sure you check and take pictures of EVERYTHING on arrival and be sure to notify owner immediately of anything damaged or missing. I have never received anything but excellent reviews from all my stays. Owner filed a claim against me for broken scale I never touched, used, or pulled out from cabinet it was stored under. Never saw the top as it was tucked under a shelf. Owner did not reach out, just filed the claim and told me to “forget it- it’s only $20 bucks” I don’t care about the money, but about my reputation. So pull out everything from cabinets/drawers and check close bc clearly it’s not happening consistently btw bookings as this was not previously checked or found.

We don’t charge for parking. Parking rates are set by the building management and are subject to change without notice. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the beach, it’s a state law. Snacks and non alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Comfortable beds

I was sad the listing didn’t mention it wasn’t ocean view so was sad about that. I felt the outside of the building could’ve looked better but nothing on the condo owners. The room was fine and the wedding and reception I attended was amazing. The owner is very nice had a little incident with another guest opening our door I contacted to make sure wasn’t double booked but it turns out the guy came to the wrong room, condo owner watched his cameras and checked his scheduling very quickly.

Quick October Stay

Great stay. Very well equipped with all the comforts of home. Upon entering, had a clean fresh smell. Great Italian joint off the lobby and beach was amazing. Cant beat the great staff at the Tiki Bar. 5 stars.

The strict 3pm check-in was unfavorable. Photos depict different atmosphere and views than advertised. Bags checked for food and beverages when entering the beach…give me a break

3 pm check in is in the description, everyone knows that before booking. The photos are real, there’s nothing misleading. Snacks and drinks are allowed on the beach, but not in the swimming pool area. One star review is misleading.

Why they chose this property

Our studio is very spacious with a huge covered balcony, tastefully decorated, has a new renovated full kitchen with new appliances and fully equipped. It is located inside Ocean Manor Hotel and Resort with heated swimming pool and private beach. It is also within walking distance from grocery shopping, many restaurants and entertainment. Only 10 miles from the airport, 7 miles from Port Everglades you don’t even need a car. Walk right on the beach from the Lobby or just cross the street for shopping.

What makes this property unique

Cook your own meals or eat out as your heart desires. Open 12 months a year. Very safe area to walk, jog, cycle 24 hours/day.
