Charming casita

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming casita. The home was thoroughly stocked with anything you could possibly need! The location was perfect for exploring Canyon Rd and we loved the walk along the river to get to the Plaza. Our favorite part of the property may have been the beautiful garden - but the art in the home is a close second. We cannot recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely return.

Quality throughout

Thanksgiving week was our second stay in this historic casita, and we hope to return whenever we are in Santa Fe. The home could not be more inviting and interesting. It has many unique characteristics, including special art pieces throughout the living spaces, a beautiful hillside yard, and a wonderful bath with a whirlpool soaking tub. The owner insured that we felt welcomed and comfortable in this home.

This property is both gracious and comfortable. The unexpected surprise is the outdoor oasis.

The owner provided every amenity beginning with a warm greeting by the owner's representative. The property is exquisite!

Exquisite. Cozy. Perfect location.

This adobe hideaway is so perfectly quiet and beautifully decorated. Everything was comfortable and easy to use. But most of all, the owner's taste is exquisite, and we were discovering little touches of hospitality everywhere. Best of all, the best of Santa Fe is an easy walk. We walked all over the place, took in lots of art, visited the up-and-coming hot spots, got out to some of nature's amazingness. I can't recommend enough. We especially liked being there in the off-season without the summer crowds.

A Christmas dream...

First off I'm a fan of Santa Fe, and in particular the historic Eastside. I've stayed in VRBO properties for years in this area and Jennifer's property is the perfect 1 bedroom tucked just off of Canyon Road and only minutes to downtown for those that like to walk. It has been completely remodeled with a beautiful kitchen and bath and much thought went into this property. We stayed the week of Christmas 2015 and the snow was heavy yet property stayed warm and fireplace was easy to use. This property is tucked at the top of a small hill and very quiet. The host could not have been more accommodating, reachable, and professional yet warm. She was a delight to deal with and loves to share her "city different" with guests via links to events, restaurants etc... The modern furnishings were a refreshing change and the king sized bed was very comfortable and appreciated as I think the mattress is often over looked in most of these high end properties. I'd stay here again without hesitation and would love to come back in the Summer months whereby we could use the awesome outdoor space located at the top of the property. This space is truly unique!

Married for almost 30 years, one of us almost moved to Santa Fe in the 80's, but stayed on the East Coast because ... she fell in love with the other. We love to travel, love to nest, love art, love food, and hospitality runs in our blood.

Why they chose this property

An authentic adobe home with buttressed thick walls, gleaming plaster and deep window wells, the shapes echoing a Georgia O'Keeffe painting, pulled us in the first day we stepped inside. We had to make it ours. We had a vision for the backyard, which was raw earth before we installed a native garden that surprises thoughout the year. Two blocks from Canyon Road, we walked by in a softening snow fall from Art Feast the very first weekend, smelling the piñon in the air. Tucked into the hill, The Casita at Cerro Gordo is the perfect retreat, wired for wifi, cable and the 21st century. We have had a great time finding the best of everything to give our guests a unique experience they'll always remember.

What makes this property unique

Our guests say it best:
"Your little casita provided us the comfort of a home with all the amenities anyone would ask for during a vacation break. The location is terrific and viewing the beautiful New Mexican sunsets while sharing a bottle of wine on the patio made for a great week.

We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness in providing quality furnishings and appliances. We really wanted a memorable Santa Fe experience and the little casita at 1 Cerro Gordo pulled it all together. Thanks for sharing your Santa Fe casita with us."
