The Hayloft- A cozy retreat, warm and inviting & just two miles from town.

The Hayloft is a cozy and romantic retreat just two miles from the center of Mendocino. Warm and inviting and decorated with style and comfort in mind. Set in the lovely and mysterious Pygmy Forest, The Hayloft suite is a guest house to a main house but still private, quiet and peaceful.

The living room comes equipped with a leather sofa, a reclining chair, a fireplace and an entertainment center. There’s a dining area, a full kitchen and, in open-space style, the queen bedroom is “half-walled” to allow views of the fireplace and television. Several skylights bring in the sun and one of them directly over the bed provides a nighttime view of the stars and moon. Did we say anything about it being romantic?

With luxurious and comfortable appointments, The Hayloft is decidedly not a hayloft. To see all photos and details visit our website.

We came for our anniversary. There was chocolate, a cute little song, and some whiskey left out for us. Customer Service level 1000! The place was way more welcoming than perceived in the pictures. It reminded me of my grandmother’s old house in Salinas. Came for the hot tub, would come back for the quiet vibe.

Lovely relaxing stay in the forest

We had a great stay at the Hayloft. Communication and check-in were smooth and easy, and the living and sleeping spaces were cozy and comfy. We were close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg, yet far enough away to have quiet and privacy. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, too!

Nice and quiet

Very nice stay. Out in the woods where it's nice and quiet. Got to see the meteor shower while in the hot tube. Plenty of privacy. Would love to come back again!

Amazing!

The house was so adorable, clean, safe. The hot tub worked perfectly and was such a fun time! Location is amazing too, only 20ish minutes away from anything you want to do in the area! I will definitely be returning to the Hayloft!

Always a Welcome Escape

Great retreat!

Perfect location, close to Mendocino, beaches and trails. Lovely, secluded spot that’s perfect for a get-away weekend. Hot tub was great for soaks at night, although it wasn’t heated yet on the first night and the chlorine balance was off and it ended up dying my swimsuit :( Other than that, would highly recommend.

The fireplace rocks! The hot tub on the deck was perfect. The place is roomy with comfortable furniture. The basics items are in the kitchen, and it was nice to have a dining table. You are in the quiet woods, but only a few minutes from Mendocino and the beach. Overall, a wonderful find, and we will stay there again!

Cozy hideaway

My wife and I enjoyed our week at the Hayloft. It is located a short drive from Mendocino, but back in the woods--very private and quiet. The place is very clean and well-appointed. Check-in and check-out was super easy. And we loved the outdoor hot tub! That said, the bathroom is small--not much counter space to put things on. More significantly, the unit could use another couple of lamps in the sitting area for reading. Also, the outdoor stairs leading to the front door should be better lit. If there's a motion sensor on that light, it isn't working. Still, a lovely place to stay overall.

We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the fireplace non stop. The place was set up with everything we needed. Nicely decorated, great size, and we absolutely loved it. The one improvement that could be made is the bathroom, particularly the shower. It is tiny and old, and the showerhead is literally at shoulder height. Since the jacuzzi is very strongly chlorinated it was crucial to shower after every use, however we dreaded the shower a bit. The bathroom overall is very small.Other than that, the Mgmt Company did a great job with lots of information provided that was helpful to have.We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful and peaceful retreat.

We loved this place, from the layout and kitchen (we cooked every night but one) to the bed and linens - and especially, the view from the hot tub! It is a perfect location - on the same road as Ravens restaurant, rolling distance to the downtown village but far enough from highway 1 that it's silent. We enjoyed canoeing in an outrigger from Catch-A-Canoe down the road on Big River, the Mendocino Headlands and the Fort Bragg bluffs! This was one of the most relaxing and serene vacations I can remember.
