We had 4 adults and had plenty of room. We had an end unit near stairs and on 2nd floor so didn’t need elevators except for luggage. Quiet condominium complex. We had a great time!!

Amazing location, needs to be updated

The location of this condo is perfect…on the beach (not too crowded and includes umbrella and chairs), pool and lots of restaurants nearby. The condo itself needs to be updated. I’d definitely stay at Beachcrest again but stay at a more updated condo.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Dirty dishes, broken blinds, broken toilet, giant cockroach, and unhelpful staff. There were no games or cards or anything to do on the one afternoon it rained a little and the TV could only produce channels in different languages so unless we sat in the main bedroom, we couldn't watch TV. It was truly awful. I will not only not ever stay at BeachCrest Condos again, I will never rent anything that is managed by Benchmark Management EVER AGAIN.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Beachcrest 206 for four nights last week. The kitchen is very nice and the living area was comfortable. I can only give three stars to this property because not one single bed was acceptable. They apparently are very old beds or very cheap beds. The king bed creaks every time you move and is very lumpy. The twin beds were the same and we even tried the fold out couch and it was horrible. At this price point the owners should invest in reasonable bedding. It's unfortunate because otherwise the unit is very nice. If you are going on vacation to get some rest I would not recommend this unit! The patio furniture could use an upgrade as well at this price point.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location, balcony, views of the Gulf, and the pool. The unit itself had a few issues. While I understand the reason for a door to seal off the shower and toilet, it really wasn’t needed with an outside bathroom door. The inside door made the bathroom very cramped. I bumped into the doorknob several times. The shower doors would not stay closed. We had to wedge a couple of sponges between them to keep them sealed while taking a shower so water wouldn’t go everywhere. It would have been nice if the twin bedroom had its own TV. The remote for the living room TV didn’t work. We tried new batteries but no luck. Our feet and socks got black from the floor. We washed our feet off after the beach & before entering the unit so we’re unsure what caused this. The same thing happened in another unit we rented.

Avoid this condo!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second time I have used Benchmark. My first experience was great. This experience was sub par. We arrived to a really sandy condo. Later that night we realized that the sheet had not been changed and there were no extra sheets. I called and there was nothing they could do that evening and I would have to wait until the morning. We had to sleep on the couch. That morning, when making coffee, we noticed all the coffee mugs were filthy. I called Benchmark and let them know. They said someone would come change the sheets and clean. They never cleaned, just changed the sheets. The condo also was not safe for little ones. Sheet rock cut for the outlet that they could easily access wires. Was shocked while using the hair dryer. The condo was dated and clearly not up to code. The location and the bench chair rentals were nice. We will NEVER use Benchmark again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third stay at BeachCrest, each time a different unit. This unit by far was the worst condition of the three we have stayed in. While it was still perfectly safe and accommodating, there were a few major issues that need addressed. Sinks don’t drain well. Toilets don’t flush properly. The main bedroom air vent for the AC doesn’t seem to work and that bedroom ran 20F hotter than the rest of the unit, even with the door open. Multiple cabinets throughout the unit have doors falling off. There are multiple quick patch jobs of drywall that were done in poor taste. Most walls need new paint. Last time paint was done, they simply painted around anything on the wall. The clear plastic corner protector was not removed so the old paint color is still visible there. The decor is old and tired. Beds were ok but not really comfortable. The entire unit was picked up but not really cleaned. There was sand on the floor. Hair in the showers. Lots of dirty dishes found out away with clumps of food still on them. Overall just very disappointing.

Great beachfront condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The management company was attentive via text message before arrival, during the stay and after departing. The condo was clean, bed very comfortable, everything worked like it was supposed to, location very close to supermarket, restaurants and there’s a bike rental place right across the street. The chairs on the beach were included with the condo, which was really awesome. The area is general is a total gem. Would absolutely return. The ONLY flaw I found with this condo is a minor irritant, the glass shower door in the master does not stay put because the floor is not perfectly level, so if you are taking a shower the door will randomly slide down, the only way to get it to stay shut is to put something behind it to keep it from sliding.

Avoid this unit at Beachcrest

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We normally stay in a different area of Destin but wanted a change this year. Us and six other families booked units at Beachcrest. Our unit was the worst of the six by far. You could tell very little has been done to update this condo. No television in the guest bedroom and a tiny cabinet one in the living area. The beds were super uncomfortable. The guest bathroom had a torn off towel bar. Our doorway blinds didn’t work in the main living or bedroom or cover the doors. Most were broken. The furniture was super old and couches were stained. The bathrooms are very dated. The view of the beach/ocean was minimal due to overgrown foliage outside our room.My husband almost cut his lip from a chipped cup which I filleted my hand on later in the week hand washing. I had to continually replace a bandaid because the cut was so deep. I would’ve thrown the glass away, but we only had a few to begin with. The countertops weren’t real clean when we arrived, nor the floor. It’s just disappointing when you only get a vacation once a year and happen to book such a crummy unit.

Good location, easy beach access

I rated this a 4* overall due to the fact that the condo was in a great location, had easy beach access and close parking. My knock on the unit is that it is dated and for the price we paid, we expected it to be a bit nicer. The front bathroom had a scratched up toilet seat which appeared dirty (if you get my drift). The door jamb was kind of busted up too and you see it immediately when walking in. Overall, a good stay.

Reviewer Comments: This property was in a great location and had a gorgeous ocean front view.However the interior and furnishings are dingy and greatly in need of updating, especially for the cost of the rental. Bed pillows are terrible.The reason we selected this unit in the first place was because it was last minute and not much else available. Would not return to this unit. Beachcrest beach area in general needs more trash cans. Storms were washing in a lot of trash which we would have picked up, but there were no trash cans readily available. Not just Beachcreast, this is true of all the properties along that stretch of beach. :(
