Beach front Getaway with Amazing Views

Welcome to Happy Place @ Matagorda!

Enjoy the breathtaking views and direct access to the Gulf of Mexico - America (-; from this beach front place that is located right across the dunes from Matagorda Beach. It’s a perfect get away for those who enjoy nature. Located in a private, gated community with an outdoor pool and a beautiful lagoon right next door. Best views in the whole complex. With no other buildings to the side, our condo opens up to the most amazing views of sunrise and sunset, and gives you a lot of privacy and space.

We offer an updated three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, comfortable living room with a large smart TV, and a high speed WIFI and a compact computer table for busy people who have to combine work and vacation together. Comfortably accommodates 6-8 people. Its fully stocked with bath towels, dishes, cookware, microwave, coffee maker, ceiling fans, and central AC.

The amenities include catch and release fishing and crabbing, a large pool (2-9 ft deep areas), washer and dryer, and all located within a couple of minutes from the condo.

Matagorda is a little hidden gem of a town and at Happy Place you will be within walking distance to the Pier, Jetty and a state park. We are right near the mouth of Colorado River and 10 minutes away from the Matagorda Harbor Marina and most popular local restaurants.
Matagorda has over 20 miles of beach which is great for fishing, birding, kayaking, swimming, surfing and lots more! Cars and trucks are allowed on the beach w/permit. Kayak rentals and horseback riding also available at Nature Center.

Happy Place other wise known as Condo 30 has been shown on HDTV Beachfront Bargain Hunters show in 2020.

Last but not least:
No pets allowed without special permission. No youth parties. No smoking or Vaping allowed on the property.

Hidden Gem

We had a great family vacation. We had plenty of room with 7 adults and 2 kids. The pool for the condos is great for adults and kids. They also have a pond on site that has some huge fish in it. You can easily walk to the beach or make a very short drive to get to the beach. My family had a wonderful time and look forward to going back some time.

Friends get away

We had a really good time in this beach house ! Everything was clean and the house was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed . I like to mention though that , if you have small children or old people, the spiral staircase is a bit of a challenge. We were a group of 5 “seasoned “ gals and 3 could not get up there . I suggest that if you have small children to bring a guard rail

Perfect Stay in Matagorda!

The condo was clean and comfortable, and the AC was able to keep everyone comfy and cool after all day on the beach! My family and I stayed here, and my mother has a limited range of motion and some balance issues, so the walk in showers were so perfect for her! Very easy check in and check out, and the property owner was so respensive and helpful for check in!

Memorial Weekend 2023

Nice updated Condo with Beach view, pool on property, quick drive to the beach. My family and I enjoyed our time at Happy Place. We went to the beach a few times, went swimming, grilled a few times, close to shops, restaurants and Visitor center.

Family Trip

We loved being near the beach and the nature center. The location is great, but the mosquitos were terrible (obviously no fault of the owner). They swarmed us walking from the condo to the car. There was so much standing water outside the condo due to recent rain. We didn't get to enjoy a lot of outdoor time. Thmusidcondocondo.

First time visitor to TX

Mike is very helpful and communicated with us about any questions we had. The property is quiet and the neighbors were friendly. There is some wear and tear to the deck that will probably need to be addressed in the near future. I’m sure it’s the Gulf climate that requires continual maintenance. We enjoyed the people and the weather in Matagorda. It was a great family vacation

Great Location

Beautifully decorated, fully equipped condo. We had a little trouble accessing the key to check in but finally figured it out. There were a few minor maintenance issues on the property but we found out they were still recovering from Hurricane Nicholas. The view to the beach was wonderful from the second floor and we had a little bit of trouble working the ceiling fan in the loft on the first night. There is no access to the beach from the property which was disappointing but the pool was real nice. Also we weren’t able to drive onto the beach because the sand was so dry and loose that people kept getting stuck. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great beach escape!

The place was great! The outside does look a little weather rough but exactly like the photos. The inside is gorgeous beautifully all redone! The beds were so comfy, AC crisp, the showers were hot and the views were immaculate from the balcony. Giving 4 (but really it’s 4.5/5) stars only because the paperwork said there was an ice machine available for guests to use for free and then we ran into I guess the property manager and she said it’s not been a thing for 3 years. That was a bummer.The pathway to the beach is only wide enough for your feet and it’s a hike. It’s walking up sand dunes and the sand is so soft your feet can sink up to your ankles. You cannot wheel anything through and if you don’t have a 4x4 good luck driving on those beaches. I think if we could have seen some pathway pictures beforehand we would have better planned for that. Lastly, the pool has zero shade along the side of the pool. It’s like being cooked out there. There is only one area at the pool under a porch that is covered but when all of that seating is gone you’re out of luck and sitting in straight sunlight. The pool was refreshing and very wonderful for a cool off! Beware of WASPS if you’re allergic!! They are everywhere and my bf did get stung. Management was great they respond fast and are so kind! We would stay here again but plan better for getting onto the beach and walking through that sand. It’s a workout, I promise.

Beautiful spot

The condo is in a beautiful location, just across the dunes from the beach, with a nice view from the decks. Overall, a nice place and worked out well for us. Out-of-state visitors should know that Texans drive on the beach, and this beach is no exception. It was pretty quiet during the week, but on the weekend it started to look like a parking lot. There also doesn't seem to be a lot of effort put into cleaning beach garbage, and there was a fair bit around. (After we collected several bags full off our stretch, it was much better.) Otherwise, it is a nice wide beach, even at high tide. And lots of birds! The house itself worked out well. Like most of the condos in the area, it is showing a lot of wear outside, with missing trim, etc. The windows needed a clean, and there were some minor maintenance issues inside, but nothing problematic.

Happy Place Condo

We enjoyed our stay! The property was clean, beds were comfy, and we really appreciated the well stocked kitchen and speedy wi-fi. It was also nice to have two refrigerators. We put food in one and drinks in the other. It was great! We don't have any real criticisms, but here is some feedback if you want to improve the experience for guests: We would have appreciated having a few more towels. We wouldn't take them to the beach, but it's so humid that often bath towels didn't get completely dry before we needed to use them again. It might be nice to have a television in some of the bedrooms so that people can watch without using the one in the living room (that would disturb those sleeping in the loft area). When walking from the fridge in the dining room to the fridge in the kitchen, it is super easy to bang your head on the circular staircase. After nearly hitting his head, my husband tied a grocery bag on that step so others would see it and stay safe. Have you ever considered using some foam pipe wrap around the back of the step that is about head height for an adult? Thanks for a great time at the beach!
