Incredible Oceanfront corner location with an unsurpassed view of the ocean and sunsets. Enjoy 700' of tropical outdoor living on your L-shaped lanai. The sound of the waves will lull you to sleep since you are only 30' from the ocean.

Comfortable tropical decor is featured in this 2 bedroom 2 bath ~1200 sq. ft. condo. The master bedroom has a king bed and the 2nd bedroom has a queen bed. A full kitchen, ceiling fans, and cooling system throughout are just a few of the amenities of this lovely condo. Swim in a salt or fresh water pool; relax on a sandy beach. Free WI-FI is in the unit!! There is plenty of space for 4 people.

**Brand new plank flooring added in July, 2021! New in June 2021 - closet organizers with drawers and cubbies in each bedroom!**

Casa de Emdeko is an oceanfront condo complex that is located 1.5 miles from the quaint village of Kailua-Kona where you will find dining & shopping. Casa has a private beach & 2 pools - salt & freshwater. Coin operated laundry is also located on site. An oceanfront cabana features gas BBQs, tables, & chairs. Tiki torches glow in the evening in the beautiful gardens.

The air conditioning/cooling system at the Casa de Emdeko is a chilled water central system that works by circulating cold water through the entire complex; it does not work like modern A/C, nor does it always work very well due to its age. In the unit you only control on/off and fan speed. If modern air conditioning is necessary for your plans please keep this in mind (If you leave doors and windows open it will appear not to work and humidity will increase; you can choose ocean breezes or the cooling system).

Casa De Emdeko is a non-smoking complex. There is no smoking or vaping allowed on the property, in the condo, or on the balcony/lanai.

Located at the front of the property is a mini-mart/deli/liquor store, beauty salon, massage & flower shop.

This place is truly a hidden gem! Two pools, incredible sunsets and everything you could need from a vacation rental. There is something for everyone. Do not hesitate!!

Beautiful view and delightful place

Really enjoyed our stay here. Perfect home base to see all the Kona coast highlights, and the ‘private’ sunsets’ from deck were absolutely spectacular. Highly recommended all around!

Quiet and Comfy with the best views!!!

We have just stayed at this place for the last 6 nights. This is the best room at this property as far as location goes. The views over the ocean are incredible and the sunset views each day are the best. The room is very quiet which leads to a relaxing stay. The room has everything needed for a great stay. The pools are nice and the location is central to the Kona coast. The room is comfortable but well worn. It was very clean on arrival. Communication with the owner was fast and effective. Thanks for having us.

Incredible views!!!

This condo is FANTASTIC!! You can see and hear the ocean from almost every room. The wrap around lanai, the well-stocked kitchen and the well-appointed rooms make this place a must stay. (And you can’t beat the location and having 2 pools on the property!!!) Don’t hesitate. We will be back!

Amazing!!

The views are incredible!!! The pools, the location, did I mention the views?! The wraparound lanai is everything and you will be left wanting nothing. Check in was easy and the condo was very comfortable. We can’t wait to come back.

Amazing best lanai experience.

Clean. Beautiful views and the best L shaped lanai where we had all meals. Fully equipped kitchen. Common yard had grills we used often. They blow conch shells at sunset every night. We were here for scuba diving but this place was our favorite place to be that wasnt under water. We'll definitely come back.

Suite met and exceeded our expectations for cleanliness, comfort & how well equipped it was, especially the kitchen. We (happily) cooked way more than we anticipated because everything we needed or wanted was available. The common areas, beach & pool were pushing 5 star compared to any resort property. The ocean and wildlife views from the lanai alone- 6 stars -makes it worth staying on the water especially when you consider how much you save in time and money NOT driving to a beach every day & paying for scenic tours.

Lovely

We've stayed here before, but not in this unit. This unit will be our go to when coming back. We've met local residents and got to see them again and this spot is perfect for our toddler. The unit has lots of space and the views are just amazing. Will be rebooting again in the future!

Lovely

Loved the property. The lanai that wraps around is not done justice in the photos. During our stay we observed the tropical fish and crabs right from the lanai. On our last day we even got to see spinner dolphins just feet from us. It's spacious and was so nice we decided to stay an entire day enjoying the amenities on the property versus loading everything up and heading to the beach. Will be back next time we're in Kona. Mahalo.

Unbeatable ocean view

Enjoyed coffee lunch and dinner in this condo and fully enjoyed it. We can’t turn on the wifi when arrived but the property manager answered pretty quick. Table settings very pretty and we enjoy the setting a lot. Very spacious space feel like it’s a loved place. Master bathroom is very newly remodeled. Gated community feel very safe. Short drive to many beaches and restaurants.

Amazingly beautiful and peaceful

What a condo! Fully stocked with kitchen supplies, condiments, guide book, beautiful coffee table books all about Hawaii, boogie boards and beach towels, comfortable beds and ceiling fans. But the lanai! We spent much of our time enjoying the amazing view of the ocean and coastline, one floor above the little sandy lounge area, watching the sun set most evenings to a musical conch shell farewell. We had a marvelous stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Fantastic Ocean Front Property

After a slight glitch in receiving the wrong gate code from Home Away, we got in to the property. The owner had provided us with the proper code, but we got a “new code” from Home Away, which in fact, was the old code. The large wraparound balcony over the ocean was incredible. We spent 12 days listening to and loving the sound of the surf. The view is really quite breathtaking. We would HIGHLY recommend this property.

Fabulous oceanfront location and views

As stated by the owner, this unit is clearly in the best location in the complex. Second story, right on the waterfront, maybe 50 feet from the ocean swells breaking on the rocks. Although there is no beach at this location, which is true for most Kona condos, the saltwater pool right by the waterfront was a perfect place to swim. The condo location is also very convenient to town. The kitchen was very well equipt, including all kinds of cooking utensils and spices. We had a wonderful time, and look forward to coming back in the future.

Condo horror with roaches

It amazes me that people who own a piece of paradise would let it become so rundown. The carpeting in this condo is so old it was crunchy. Too many cleanings and not enough rinsing. The carpet must be at least 30 years old. Who puts carpet in a beach condo? We discovered baby roaches crawling on the kitchen counter top. When we informed the owners , who said well, this is the tropics, you know. There are roaches in Indiana too, but not in my house! They had extra roach traps delivered to us. You know when you see baby roaches, there are a million of them. The best part of the condo was the lanai. The complex was nicely taken care of.

Beautiful views!

This unit has views that don't stop! With large patio door/windows on 2 sides, along with Lani on 2 sides there are endless views of the ocean and gorgeous sunsets! One can spend the day watching fishing charters and parasailers from the comfortable breezes on the Lani. Comfortably furnished as well. The unit does need some maintenance work. The salt spray from being so close to the water has corroded the slide and or wheels on the patio door facing the ocean making it very difficult to open and close. In general the doors and windows may need new seals as we experienced a large amount of fruit flies inside the unit. It is a tropical location and we realize insects come with that. However, this was our sixth trip to the Big Island and have stayed in other Kona locations and have not had the tiny flies inside as we did here. It did not ruin our stay, but was annoying, especially at night. A little maintenance would make this one of the best locations in Kona to stay! Even without it is still pretty nice!

Best condo in the complex!

We loved our stay here! This condo has the best location of the entire complex--right in front of the beach with good shade overhead. Beautiful views and a huge lanai to enjoy. The complex is quiet and never seemed crowded. We appreciated that the entire complex is non-smoking. The 2 pools were heated & enjoyable. There is a free Kona Shuttle that stops right outside the complex, but be warned that it isn't reliable. It was often 15 minutes early or 30 minutes late. We used the coin laundry (located under the main reception area) once. Bring quarters or you can download the app (signs are next to the machines). It cost $3.25 to wash and dry a load. Bring your own laundry soap as it is not provided. Also be sure to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Dish soap is provided. The cooling system in the condo worked well. We don't like things super cold, so we kept the temp around 76. We also appreciated the ceiling fans throughout the condo. The beds, pillows, and furniture were comfortable. We appreciated the new sponge in the kitchen, too. We rated this 4 stars instead of 5 because we were given the wrong code upon check-in so we had to wait (after a long day of travel) to enter into the complex, there was no informational binder/documents about the condo/area/etc (so helpful when visiting a new place), and the ceiling fans & air vents need cleaning. That being said, we would stay here every time. It's absolutely wonderful!

View, View, View! Location, Location, Location!

If you are looking for a condo in Kona, this is THE one! Not only is Casa de Emdeko the nicest waterfront complex we have stayed at (our 3rd one in the Kona area) this 2nd floor condo at the end of the "U" has a stunning waterfront view. Coffee on the deck each morning was accompanied by dolphins passing by (May.) We were a family group of 11 staying in three condos. This condo was our "base" and perfect for gathering on the large two-sided deck. The kitchen was not the largest (however still worked for lots of cooking) but that left room for the large dining and living areas. The huge deck was perfect for watching the sunset together. Many spices and condiments were available in the kitchen cupboards. Also available were two small coolers, a chair and umbrella. The condo was clean and inviting. (note: one might think a first floor end cap condo would be good but that one has a solid waist high privacy wall and the 3rd floor only has a 3 foot overhang with little shade.) The master bath in this condo has a nice deep shower. Casa de Emdeko has lovely grounds (the plumeria tree next to our deck was in full bloom) and both a salt and fresh water pool. Well maintained grass grills are available and a large cabana area is next to them. Check out all the photos on the listing. How do you rate the owner if something comes up which needs fixing or attention? Due to no lack of maintenance of her part, we did have an air conditioning issue on a system which connects to the main complex. This happened on a Friday night. Amazingly, the owner responded within 15 minutes of my call! The issue was fixed much sooner than it would have been at home. Fortunately, having a two sided deck allowed us to fully enjoy the ocean breezes. If I could give the owner Jill six or even 10 stars, I would. Thank you Jill! We highly recommend this condo.
