Our getaway "Second Chances" is yours to enjoy! This is a fun place to soak up the sun, take in the ocean breeze, and enjoy all that Oak Island has to offer. The house is newly remodeled and ready to entertain. Oak Island, meanwhile, is one of the few South facing islands so you can see the sun rise and set from the beach! The Oak Island pier is not far and free to the public for walking (pay to fish). Surf, fish, sun bathe, or just sit in sand and take in the refreshing feel that can only be obtained with that ocean air! While you will likely be out and about at the beach we hope you will also enjoy our house. You can even see the ocean...really tiny from the end of the driveway lol! (not an ocean view house) The home offers many amenities including...

Everything that you need. Excellent appliances and furnishings.

Always looks out for us

This is our third time staying at this property. The host has always looked out for us in case of storms. There was a tornado warning and they made sure we were safe. They are so helpful with any questions or problems you may have. I had a great time as I always have.

Very clean! Communication with owner couldn’t have been smoother. Enjoyed the balcony for morning coffee. Generous amount of towels!

We’ll rested

Had such a relaxing first few days. Son & wife and young son came on Wednesday for a 1st trip to beach. They had a great time, weather was perfect. Waves were excellent too. Short walk to beach….stores nearby. House had everything you could ever need.

Beautiful house near beach

Beautiful house. Plenty of room. So convenient with a washer and dryer. Very clean. Walking distance to beach. We had an excellent time and will definitely stay again in the future.

Beach vacation

Overall very pleased with our stay. The home was clean, spacious and had room for our family. Kitchen was well equipped with most items you'd need. We were very happy with the proximity to the beach having the public beach access point down the street. If I were going to make suggestions, I'd recommend having caffeinated coffee on hand and a beach cart would be super helpful.

A few minor issues were handled quickly. Great house for 5+ adults. Short walk to the beach and convenient drive to grocery and restaurants. Would stay again.

Clean and stocked for all your needs!

The house is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. I did not see a single speck of dirt, grime, or mold. It's a small walk to the beach too. I always worry about what a rental will provide and what they won't, but I was pleasantly surprised they had everything we needed. Toilet paper, hand and dish soap, bath towels, pots, pans, baking sheets, plates, bowls, shot glasses, Daiquiri glasses, beer mugs, regular glasses, mugs, tons a silverware, tongs, spatulas, cutting boards, servings spoons, knives, can opener, tin foil, plastic wrap, wipes, available ice, extra blankets, extra pillows, a drying rack for clothes, a surplus of board games, lots of movies, streaming services, and playing cards, just to name a few things. We had a wonderful stay and may come back next year!

Fun in the Sun ☀️

We had a great stay! Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. The owners thought of everything that would be needed (plenty of toilet paper, towels and wash clothes, detergent, hand soap, trash bags, ect). I highly recommend this house to anyone staying in Oak Island.

Great Beach House

The owners were easy to communicate with, and the property was clean and easy to access. The house is laid out a little strangely (the only external locking door enters and exits through a bedroom) but nothing that impeded our stay in any way. It was a great house and a lovey vacation. Nice big kitchen table, lots of sofas to sit on, walkable to the beach. Very good!

The hospitality was excellent! No problems at all. And the Tranquil Harbour is Beautiful!

Great place to stay! I really hate to tell everyone how wonderful it is due to I want it all to myself! I would highly recommend the stay!

Very Relaxing Getaway

This house is only a five minute (or less) walk right to the beach. The property is really nice. Clean and roomy. It sleeps about 8. We only had two people staying so we didn't even use two of the bedrooms. It's in a very quiet neighborhood and quite close to numerous really nice restaurants. We used the Master suite with a King bed and an adjoining bath. I don't think there is a better bargain at VRBO on Oak Island. For the size, location, and the amenities, this property, at the price point it rents for is an absolute great deal. The internet is lightning fast and there are TV's in all three bedrooms plus the living room. I highly recommend this location if you are going to Oak Island.

Great Place to Stay!

Tranquil Harbour was a great place to stay for our family vacation. The place is very clean, and close enough to the beach to make for a wonderful vacation. We found it easiest to drive the short distance to the public parking rather than have to carry all our stuff, but there was always parking available. Krista was easy to contact and she answered questions quickly.

Close to everything, but not too close

Comfortable, easy 1/2 mile walk straight down the road and over the dunes to the beach. House was roomy and comfortable, any small issues were handled quickly. Would rent again.

This home was moved from Caswell Beach in 2016 (just up the road on the same island). It is the result of blood, sweat, grace, divine intervention along with a lot of luck! We want you to enjoy what we have worked hard to restore. This has been a labor of love for our family. Destined to be torn down due to the value of the land, we were able to connect with the previous owner, house movers, and some wonderful contractors (too may people to thank) that helped us assemble this home in the heart of Oak Island. Now this house has a second chance at bringing folks the joy that only a beach house can accomplish.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Direct beach access (no canal to cross), centrally located (food and shopping very near by), and lots of space to hang out. We almost did not put the house on pilings but we are so glad we did! Even when the weather is foul you can hang out under the house and watch it rain. (The enclosed section under the house is owner storage that is unfinished and not open to guests.) The beach access is a close distance that you can walk or drive! Likewise, Shagger Jacks and The Koko Cabana are just blocks away. They offer great food and beverages.

The close proximity to the Oak Island pier is a real plus! Free to walk and the Koko Cabana restaurant is a nice place to eat oceanside. On the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway) side of the island you can find the Crab Pier that is a public access dock on the marsh for spectacular views and maybe some fishing at high tide. Bring your kayaks for the public kayak access areas including the very nice launch by the recreation department.
