Enchanted Cottage in the Redwoods

The Cottage at Mendocino Farmhouse is part of a family property in a redwood forest just minutes from the village of Mendocino and the ocean. The cottage has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. And, for your convenience, a Level 2 charge station.
Step outside your door do a beautiful garden with flowers in season that are a haven for butterflies and hummingbirds. We even have a small flock of bantam chickens in the garden for your enjoyment. Come visit soon and see for yourselves.

Lovely, dreamlike location. Quiet, comfortable, cozy and perfect amenities. Very accessible and close to town while also feeling much more out of the way and private.

Such a lovely little cottage in a beautiful garden setting. The kitchen is well stocked, the house is so cozy and the bed is very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

So quiet. Margie was most welcoming providing some lovely items to get us through breakfast and first morning. Lovely for a romantic getaway. I would also suggest if you are an artist or writer this is a perfect spot to give yourself a little residency or reset.

This cottage was an absolute dream! The pictures truly don’t do it justice. It was cozy, beautiful, and so relaxing—the perfect place to unwind. The location was fantastic, close to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, and downtown Mendocino.The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, which made my stay even better. If I ever return to Mendocino, I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this beautiful cottage!

This is a beautiful little country cottage nestled in the redwoods. A very quiet setting with lots of TLC throughout the property and gardens. Just Beautiful. It is very close the beaches and the town of Mendocino. We will return again!!!

The tastefully decorated cottage surrounded by vibrant flower gardens where chickens roam was enchanting! Homemade banana bread, fresh eggs, kumquat marmalade, etc. welcomed us, and it was obvious that Margie paid close attention to details making our stay comfortable in every way. The cottage is tucked away in the redwoods, but it’s just a few minutes’ drive to Mendocino Village, nearby state parks, and Fort Bragg. We’d love to come back on our next visit to Mendocino!

what a delightful place! it was quiet, clean, comfortable. the garden was a great place to sit and relax. we had everything we needed. majorie was very helpful and responsive.

This cottage was just dreamy. The Beautifully kept garden in the woods was a perfect spot for our get away. The amenities were charming and cozy. We loved using the fireplace daily, and we cooked a few meals at home in the cottage so we could enjoy the quiet solitude. I appreciated the washer and dryer so we could head home with clean laundry.Margie was a wonderful host. Check in was smooth and she also went out of her way to find spa/massage recommendations when we requested. During our time in Mendocino, we enjoyed hikes and beach exploring, kayaking, biking and visiting restaurants and breweries. We hope to get back and stay in the cottage again! Highly recommend going in the summer to find a break from the heat!

We absolutely loved this cozy and quiet stay among the redwoods! The cottage was charming, clean and well taken care of, with some really thoughtful touches. We one especially loved the “book nook” bench, the beautiful flower garden, the chickens calmly roaming around, and being able to easily start up a warm fire on our final night. We would definitely come back to stay here again! Thank you!

There was a strong lingering wood smoke odor (I assume from the previous tenant using the fireplace) the first night. Leaving the screened windows open took care of that, and indeed, I left those windows open my entire stay since the temperature was so pleasant and the sound of chickens clucking as they browsed was so delightful. Lovely inviting gardens, close proximity to Mendocino and the beaches, and even the ability to charge my EV without going into Ft Bragg - yes, I would stay here again!

This idyllic cozy cottage in the woods was a nature lover’s dream! The garden setting was so pretty and it was a very quiet and peaceful property. Everything was thoughtfully available to us as guests, including fresh eggs from the chickens, lots of cozy blankets for the cool nights and all the items you might forget on your trip. The cottage was very well presented, kept, clean and maintained but still had a few quirky little things you’d expect from a charming place with character and charm.What was fantastic was the secluded, remote feel, but it was only a few mins into town, Van Damme State Park and Jug-Handle park, which were all gorgeous destinations we enjoyed. We would love to come back and visit again some day, and I would definitely recommend it!!

The enchanted cottage is a dream! Perfect little hobbit hole in the redwoods to really impress those who love Tolkien and enjoy the quiet of a good fire, a cup of tea and a walk through a garden.Margie was welcoming, left us a little note and had farm fresh eggs available along with English muffins, butter, jam and cream to go with coffee. We enjoyed discovering all the wonderful items around the house and reading the outside of the historical first books to learn more about the property, one couple spent their honeymoon there and their 37th wedding anniversary! If that doesn’t tell you the type of host Margie is I don’t know what does!

Located in a stunning redwood forest setting, peace and quiet abound at this well appointed cottage. The gardens around the place are beautiful . It was a pleasure to meet our host, Margie, who lives on the property, while we also had complete privacy.We appreciated the breakfast foods that were there for us including the fresh eggs from the resident chickens nearby.The level 2 charger was an added bonus.We hope to stay there again.

After raising my children here on the family property I ran our bed and breakfast in the house and barn for over 35 years. Along the way, I met some wonderful people some of who came back every year. We even had Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and their son Wyat stay for six weeks while filming the movie Overboard. Nice people.
My gardens are important to me and give me much pleasure as do my chickens who give me lots of eggs.
I am celebrating living in Mendocino for the past 50 years having moved here in 1971.
It's not always been easy but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else and I'm lucky to have my family and friends close by. I'm a happy, lucky person.
