Lovely Oceanfront 4th Floor Condo with A/C

This lovely 4th (top) floor, two bedroom, two bath, bright, clean and oceanfront condo has everything that you'll need for a great vacation, including A/C! (Mini-Split System - not a separate blower in guest bedroom). It's located at the very oceanfront Kona Bali Kai Resort, Bld. 2, and is unit #415, so prime location in the middle section of the oceanfront building at the pool. Nice upgrades throughout with comfortable lounging and sleeping options for four guests. (There are now two lounge chairs on lanai . . photos taken while we waited for 2nd one!) Well equipped kitchen with lots of counterspace for ease of cooking in! Watch the surfers from your lanai, along with plenty of sea life as well! (Dolphins, whales (in season) and the large honus (sea turtles) that feed in the numerous tidepools there and then bask in the sun on the small beaches right out front.

Great location and mellow resort complex. Loved being on the water. Great tide pools and easy access to enjoy Kona side. Lani was delightful. Spacious and clean. Perfect for our needs and would return to this unit and Bali Kai

Would stay here again!

This condo was amazing. Clean as a whistle, comfortable - that recliner is the best! And the views were spectacular from the lanai. Holly was super responsive to our needs and so easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend this property!

Excellent oceanfront condo. All amenities very modern. Condo very clean. Check in and Property Management excellent. Would definitely return. Everything you could ask for in a Kona condo.

Couldn’t have been more pleased!

What an incredible property! Holli (property manager) was SO accommodating and made our entire adventure the easiest we’ve ever had. The place was beyond our expectations- from the seamless check-in to the access to anything you could hope for in the way of an ocean-front, condo, to the ease in check-out. We cannot wait to go back!

Gorgeous view, wonderful stay

The view of the ocean is amazing, and the sound of the waves lul you to sleep at night. This condo had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Kona, and some things that most condos don't have. Holly is wonderful, even though we didn't need her for anything. Hope to stay here again. Mahalo!

Marvelous property, unit and view!

A wonderfully comfortable unit with amazing views. Very clean and well maintained. Decor and furniture is beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed eating and just sitting on the lanai on the lovely comfortable outdoor furniture watching sunsets and spotting turtles. We appreciate and thank Holly for being so accommodating and helpful. We definitely would love to return to this fabulous unit in the future and highly recommend it as well.

Wonderful condo with Amazing oceanfront view!

The condo is even better than advertised! The oceanfront lanai is beautifully furnished and wonderful for breakfast, lunch or dinner- not to mention sunset viewing and whale watching! It comes with many amenities, everything one could want in a kitchen, beautiful towels and linens, etc! My husband and I have stayed in VRBOs and other online rentals world-wide, and this is the most well managed! Thank you Holly and your owners! We’ll be back next year! MaryAnn & Bill

Beautiful place, but costly mistake

Beautiful condo. Building is dated. The confirmation stated the manager would check in with us the day of arrival. I had no contact but wasn't too worried as our flight arrived after 10pm and we arrived at the condo close to midnight. Keep in mind that midnight is 5am where I started the day so I had been awake about 22 hours except for about an hour nap on the plane. Got inside, dropped our bags, and oohed and ahhed at the view. This was the 50th state for my 88 year old mother and me so this was a special trip. I went to turn down her bed and thought it strange that the covers were askew on the made bed. Noticed other weird things like a dirty glass in the sink and no parking pass. It looked like the cleaner was called away before they completed their cleaning. Everything looked good, beds were made, towels folded on towel racks, so off to bed for us. It hasn't until a couple days later the manager let me know she had missed our reservation on her calendar and the apartment hadn't been cleaned!! Seems the owners were there immediately prior to our stay and they must have tidied up before they left. But that means sleeping on dirty sheets and dirty bath goods on the rack. Other concerns are that the pool is directly below the front door and pool noise can be loud in the front bedroom. There were many maintence projects going on while we were there including shutting down the elevator for a few hours, shutting off the water the morning we left, plus other annoying noises.

A situation like this is definitely a manager's worst nightmare, and a travelers, and certainly was for me. It was actually the very next day that I was contacted about a missing parking pass, which is how I discovered the major error that had been made. Guest didn't mention anything else at that time. I immediately let her know what had happened and I offered to move them to another condo and wanted to clean the one they were in, but that didn't sound too good, and they wanted to stay, and declined having the condo cleaned and stated that it was actually very clean and cleaner than many that she has stayed in with all her travels. She was being very gracious and understanding under the circumstances which was much appreciated considering the situation, and said her mother was loving the place. I immediately told her I would refund her two nights rent for the awful oversight that had been made ($700) hoping that it could possibly ease the pain some with the situation(nothing was actually gross in the unit because lucky for me it had been owners there prior.) No dirty towels left in the bathrooms (they were in the dryer, dried), but it was the main bedroom that was definitely an issue with having not been changed out. This unit is located in the prime location in the oceanfront building due to the pool and the separate lobby building that is between the condos guest room and the street so road noise is not an issue. Pool noise does occasionally occur during the day.

Felt Like Home

We loved our stay here! Holly is an excellent host. The home literally has everything you need and more to make your stay comfortable. The views from the lanai are outstanding. I loved waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning and enjoying my coffee outside. We were able to keep the doors open for most of the stay and only turn the air on at night when it got stuffy. The front room gets warmer than the rest of the condo, but if you position the 2 fans to draw in some of the cool air, it is ok. My kids never had an issue, but if you are warm natured, it might be better to take the master. Getting around town is fairly easy. There are lots of things to do close by. I highly recommend the outdoor market down the road. Great vendors and lots of souvenir options. We saw turtles and there are lots of sea urchin in the coves below, so always make sure you wear your shoes in the water and keep your distance from the turtles! I would love to come back here one day and hope to stay with Holly again!

Beautiful view in an ocean front condo

Nice oceanfront condo with great views and A/C. The unit has been remodeled and has a nice kitchen and baths. It has nice towels and plenty of paper products. Great to have the beach chairs, beach towels, ice chests and a washer and dryer. The complex is older and the elevator is slow, but the view from the 4th floor is worth it! We just walked the stairs unless we were carrying too much stuff.

Ocean View Bliss

This is an awesome property to be close to the ocean and enjoy the view and sounds. Please note that this is not a swimable area but you can still have some sand and dip your toes in the water. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well outfitted! The recliner was well enjoyed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect family getaway

We fully enjoyed our stay at this location. Oceanfront views were priceless. If you like falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing and waking up to a beautiful sunrise every morning, you will enjoy your stay here. Honestly, the only downside to this facility might be that the swimming pool isn’t really ideal for young children who can not swim. There is only a super small portion of the pool where I could touch and I’m 5”10. The Reilly that runs every hour picks up right across the street and it super smooth.

Clean, comfortable and fabulous ocean view!

Holly was an excellent host. The condo was exactly as described and photographed. Communication was clear, check in was a breeze, and few treats were waiting for us upon arrival. The view of the ocean was fabulous! Holly couldn’t accommodate a late checkout but helped locate another Vrbo. So grateful for her assistance. Thank you.

Great view and perfect location. Hostess was great.

Easy check-in, great accommodation. Would return for another stay. Highly recommend. Everything you need is at hand. We’ll outfitted kitchen. Elevator works great. Enjoyed watching the surfers, we called them our entertainment.

Excellent, clean property, great location - Highly recommend!

Full disclosure - I am a super host for the other popular short term rental app. * Location is the top reason to rent this unit. We've stayed at Kona Bali Kai 3 previous times in different units, and love this complex. The ocean front view is amazing, there is a small beach and tide pools adjacent to the complex so if you just want to sun on the sand in quiet without the crowds or if you have toddlers/young kids who want to play in a safe beach environment, it's unbeatable. Sunsets on all the clear days, and you can watch surfers nearby. Da Poke Shack is in the parking lot of the condo complex and they serve some of the best poke in all of Hawaii, so it's very convenient. One disclaimer is that there are some palm trees in front of the lanai (patio), just as you see in the listing photos, so be aware. The unit is very close to the elevator which is a plus, since it's on the 4th floor. * This condo is very clean. Their housekeeper does an excellent job. I'm very particular about cleanliness of properties and have stayed in many other short term rental houses and condo's, and this one ranks at the top for how clean the home was when we checked in. I have dust allergies so this is very important to me and I was pleasantly surprised. *Full of amenities, very convenient: They provide not only the usual Hawaii condo basics like kitchenware/towels/shampoo/soap/laundry soap, but (when we rented in Apr/May 2022) they have 4 very nice Tommy Bahama beach chairs and two additional simple beach chairs, a very nice Tommy Bahama beach umbrella, 2 ice chests, several beach towels, flash lights (if you go to the volcano you'll need these), 2 sets of snorkel/mask/fins. The Charmin toilet paper is which is nice. They provide plenty of paper towels, tissues, etc. * Their power recliner is SOOO comfortable. * The master king bed is a firm foam mattress. *Holly was an amazing host. She's very responsive, all the time day or night. She's helpful in answering questions, and was very kind to get us a mattress topper for the king bed because I have a medical condition and had trouble sleeping on the firm mattress. She assisted me with some of my other needs for the condo as a result of my medical condition and I was so pleased to have such an excellent and caring host. As a short term rental host myself, I give her top ratings for her availability, communication skills & empathy. *Read 'Hawaii The Big Island Revealed' before you come if you can.

Spring Break

As all of the other reviews state, this condo is probably the best equipped Vrbo my family if 4 has ever stayed in. And the AC is such a plus! We loved the lanai at every time of the day - gorgeous views. And we saw turtles in the tide-pools out back everyday.
