Wonderful quiet cottage, reasonably priced, close to everything but with a feeling like being in the countryside. The owner was very attentive and helpful as needed. I will for sure book it again on my next Colorado Springs trip!

Convenient to everything. Beds were very comfortable. Host was speedy in answering our request for more towels. It would have been nice to have better lighting, it felt dark throughout the house, it was hard to read or do any task. Also the stove was very dirty. I cleaned the top before I used it. I didn’t use the oven due to the fact that it was very dirty also.

Both the property and neighborhood were so lively, and it’s just a couple minutes down from Old Colorado City. It’s in an amazing spot surrounded by plenty of things to do without having to travel too far. The owner and her husband were extremely kind to us and if we had any questions they were more than happy to help us. The house in itself was amazingly kept and they provided basic necessities and more for us, the beds couldn’t be more comfortable either.

Stand alone mother-in-law apartment on the alley side of the main house in a quiet neighborhood. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. Very responsive on-site hosts. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay! So comfy and every amenity you can think of. Quiet location, ideal for access to Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. Lots of great restaurants nearby. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

As described in great location to Garden of the Gods and downtown. Located in Old Colorado spring, the center of town was about a mile away with a beautiful down town.

We had our dog and the place was great for us. It is a great location near Old Colorado City, Bear Creek park and Manitou. The host were great letting us have an early check in at the last minute.

You may also have the pleasure of meeting Butters, Toast and Crumpet our furry family members. We are happy to host you and enjoy chatting with our guests about our favorite local spots and hikes!

Casa de Luz y Sombra is the second home on my property. We live in the old front house, and you’ll be staying in the new southwestern gem. We wanted to open this delightful home up for visitors due to its amazing proximity to the best parts of town. The home is three blocks from a picturesque trailhead, walking distance from historic Old Colorado City, a short drive to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs.

Casa de Luz y Sombra is unique because her location. For being in the heart of the West Side, your stay will feel rural. It’s a very quiet street, in a very safe neighborhood. Plus with your host living right on the property (but in a completely separate space), you’ll have a knowledgeable guide to help choose the absolute best experiences for you and your family (and the privacy you’ll need to enjoy yourself). The space is decorated with the utmost care providing a comfortable and clean stay. There is even a private yard for your furry friend!
