when we arrived, the air conditioning was broken in the house during August in Savannah so uninhabitable. That said, the hosts were very communicative and quick to fix the air-conditioning (same day) and overall our stay was incredible. The first night was very warm so I wished they offered a discount for that but overall the way they handled the situation and communicated makes me want to stay with them again.

Property management company was super communicative and checked in to see how we were doing. Beach is amazing and the location cannot be beat. A great place to be to get away from it all.

Fabulous location and tremendous comfort

This home was perfect for our large family. It’s equally close to the beach and a pool that you can get day passes for. Location was great and we will absolutely stay again.

Great Beach Cottage

We had a wonderful stay! This was our second time coming to Daufuskie and we love the island. The house was clean, as advertised, and had a great view of the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing Stay

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! This property was perfect for unwinding and enjoying some much-needed beach time. The location couldn’t have been better—just steps from the sand. The home was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything to make our stay effortless. We’d definitely love to return!

Great Beachfront Relaxing Getaway!

Our cottage was clean and beachfront and a minute walk to The Oyster House for food/drinks/groceries. As Advertised - super cute. Everyone was kind and responsive. Will Definitely Be Back!

Great house on the beach

This is our 3rd time renting a cottage on Melrose and this was my favorite one. The house was clean and comfortable with great decor. The location is great being in the end, esp with the pool open now.

Girls weekend

We had a fantastic time on Daufuskie island for the weekend. The Sea Horse cottage was perfect for our small group. We loved being right at the ocean front. The cottage was clean, updated, decorated nicely and had all of the amenities to get us started for a lovely weekend. Would definitely stay there again.

Since travel to this island requires taking all grocery items by ferry, the host should consider stocking the place with more basic staples and ice as well as more than a starter supply of TP and paper towels. It is difficult to carry bulky items over by ferry. Groceries are extremely llimited , even more so than host describes. For the price, more should be offered. Kitchen tools limited making cooking challenging. A beach umbrella or beach tent should be supplied since it is not practical to haul these over the water. Most of beach chairs rusted and in less than desirable condition. Grill only operable on one side. AC lacks capacity to keep house cool on very hot days. Not the quality we epected for the price.

Beach cottage was very comfortable, just a few steps from the ocean, and provided all necessities.

Preperty met all expectations. It was clean, directly on the ocean and had all the necessities for a comfortable week's stay. It was located on a beautiful part of the island and transportation was by golf cart provided by the host. Plan to return next year.

Great spot

Overall couldn’t have been better. Only complaint was that we couldn’t pick up a golf cart from the dock, had to shuttle to house to then get cart. Otherwise awesome

Great Getaway!

My husband, son and I stayed in Dafauskie Island during Spring Break. We had a great time! The Oceanfront Cottage was awesome! It was very clean and it had everything we needed. I loved being able to look out the big windows towards the ocean. The walk to the beach was short and easy. They have beach chairs and you would just need to bring your own beach towels. It was nice being able to ride around in the golf cart. We really enjoyed our visit to the museum, where we learned quite a bit of Dafauskie’s history. Communication with the rental group was easy. We would definitely love to return!

Elderly Couple Review

Beautiful and intimate. Quiet. Peaceful. Relaxing. One suggestion . . . fix the BBQ -- it's probably time for a new one. We tried grilling the first night -- had to finish in the house. The burners are gone on the grill.

Stunning water views and sunrises

This cottage is adorable and so well laid out. I love the two chairs in front of the window with the most stunning views of sunrise and tides. A wonderful way to start your day with coffee and soaking in The beautiful day. Loved the golf cart transportation and the ease of it being ready when we arrived. I struggled a little with the keypad lock but finally managed. The weather was cool and would have loved to use the gas fireplace to take the chill off but could not get it to work ..:I did not ask for help but am sure the rental group would be responsive The only thing I would suggest is maybe replacing the all bed pillows A really amazing location and I would recommend it to anyone for a great vacation.

Amazing Time at a stellar house

This is an amazing property. The house sits right across the path from the beach, and right next to a beach club with fabulous food, and terrific pools. Plus we had the wonderful opportunity to see a sea turtle emerge from the ocean, and make a nest for her babies in the sandy beach behind the house! The rental company folks who live on-island are very nice, helpful and responsive to issues that arose during our stay. We left our extra non-perishable unopened food in a bag on the counter to support local families. It’s a nice way to give back a little to this island and the nice folks who will welcome you here! FYI: bring food, beach towels, dish soap and trash bags. Have fun on Daufuskie!

What an amazing island and beautiful cottage. There is nothing I would change! Management was so helpful and responsive! View was unbelievable! We will definitely be back! If your looking for a quiet laid back vacation... this is the cottage for you! Also, cottage is right next door to the pool!

Labor Day weekend at Melrose on Daufuskie

Overall very nice cottage/home. On the beach and only a few steps from the ocean. Clean, well appointed home. Coffee maker and BBQ grill did not work, but called/texted manager and it was addressed in a few hours. Only negative was the the home lacked outdoor living space, ( porch and/or deck). Unfortunate because the views were great and having a deck or screened in porch would have been wonderful.
