Welcome to Afterdune Delight (formerly Quackin' Up), a newly updated, five bedroom beach house in the community of Duck Ridge Shores right in the heart of Duck, NC. With the beach access being a mere 200 yards away and Duck Rd less than a 1/2 a mile, this house is the perfect location. Want to go kayaking in the sound? No problem! The neighborhood provides access to launch kayaks and SUPs. The home is very well laid out over three levels so no one feels like they're on top of one another. Five bedrooms and 3 full baths plus an outdoor shower. Enjoy the private pool or relax in the hot tub. Bring your bikes and enjoy an easy bike ride to the shops, restaurants, and the Duck boardwalk. A pet-friendly home for well behaved dogs, Afterdune Delight is the perfect spot for the family dog to enjoy beach time as well. Up to 2 Pups
There's nothing like watching a colorful sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean only a few steps from the ocean front. OR watch beautiful sunrises on the sound from the new private dock belonging to Duck Ridge Shores. There's plenty of room for sunbathing and enjoying sea breezes both on the expansive wrap around decks and by the pool. All decks are gated - perfect for little ones and to keep your fur-babies from exploring too far! Inside the home, WiFi internet access, many games, and a rec room with an arcade style video game with 100s of games to choose from are available for your enjoyment. Duck is renowned for wide, clean beaches and charming Duck Village, where you'll find a wide selection of wonderful restaurants and unique shops. While vacationing on the Outer Banks, take a short drive north to Corolla to see the wild horses or south to the Hatteras National Seashore and Lighthouse. The host is great at communicating and very friendly. House is cute and is accommodating. Pool and hot tub were very enjoyable along with the multiple decks. Family wanted the arcade game too. Walk to beach is short and easy.

We enjoyed our stay at Afterdune Delight in Duck, NC. It was in a perfect location for walking to the beach and walking to the boardwalk and restaurants and shops. They allowed us to stay with our 3 pugs and I think the dogs enjoyed their first vacation and trip to the ocean. What an amazingly dog friendly town with such nice people. Our host Suzanne was so nice and responsive. I would stay here again. Thanks for having us!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a short walk to the beach and very close to shops. We love Duck and will be back to visit this area again!

Great location!
Our family and family friends loved our stay. The house is super close to the beach while also walkable to town! There was room for everyone. Great stay, thank you!

the host is very friendly and helpful. the hose was nice and love that it's pet friendly! very easy walk to the beach. there's a wagon, beach chairs, and umbrella you can use on the beach too!

Great Value in Duck
We enjoyed the proximity to Duck, the beach, and the wealth of amenities at this property. The hosts were communicative throughout the booking process and provided clear instructions.

Relaxed beach getaway
We loved our stay at Suzanne’s beach home. The house is perfectly located for easy walking access to the beach and town. The kids loved the loft and the pool. The outdoor shower was perfect for a rinse-off after pool or beach. Quite relaxing and enjoyable!

Duck Vacation April 2023
We had a wonderful time at this home. It was within walking distance of the beach and the boardwalk. The property was clean and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The owner was easy to reach with any questions or concerns. We would definitely stay at this location again.

We thank the renter for their review. I checked in with them as I do all renters, the day after they checked in and they said "Everything was good, thanks!" When they say "needs TLC" we're assuming they are referring to the exterior.
We purchased this property in August of 2021 and have already made several updates that allow for our renters to enjoy a clean, well-maintained, modern and beachy home in an ideal location with ample space and extra accommodations you won't find everywhere. The exterior of the home needs attention and we fully intend to replace but this is quite an exorbitant expense and will take time.

We had our annual family get together.
We enjoyed the location. You could walk to store. It was a short walk to the beach.

Excellent Family Getaway
Perfect property and location for 3 generations of family! Catch sunrises from the ocean on one end of the street and sunsets from the marsh on the other end of the street. The layout allowed us all to hang out together, but also to come and go in our own time and space when needed. Easy drive or walk to most of the shops and restaurants. Suzanne, the host, was very attentive and easy to communicate with.

Family Thanksgiving Gathering
Great location to the Village of Duck. The owner, Suzanne is an excellent communicator.
Rooms not quite as large as we would have liked. Overall, everyone had a wonderful time.

House as advertised
We had a great stay. The keurig machine was broken, but owner offered to replace it, or get coffee with us. Good communication.

Nice house nice location
This house was prefect for our family and I was surprised by the quality of the kitchen items. Most rentals have really cheap old stuff but not here. Really good quality.

We have vacationed in Duck for several years with other friends and we just love the low key, quieter, family feel of the area. Each of the other neighborhoods in OBX has its own draw but Duck has become our favorite. This house is perfectly located in that you can literally walk to the beach OR to downtown Duck in minutes. Wee Winks Market and Deli, Blue Point restaurant, ABC store and more are all a half mile away or less!

Nice quiet street that dead ends at the ocean front so no through traffic, lovely pool, picnic and hot tub area. Five bedrooms are well laid out so that everyone has there space. 3 full bathrooms plus an outdoor shower.
