We had a fantastic stay at this cabin! It is nicely decorated and has all the comforts of home. The couch was SO comfy, especially on a rainy, cold day. We enjoyed watching the deer and birds in the field. We hiked nearby at McAfee Knob and Dragon’s Tooth (about 20-30 minutes) and Hoop Hole and Roaring Run trail. It was a peaceful, relaxing trip and Matt was very communicative and we felt like we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

The cabin fits perfectly into our outdoor activities. It’s clean, family friendly with a great atmosphere. And the host is the best!

House is beautiful inside and out, the deck by the creek is just unreal awesome and totally worth renting just for that.

A great place to stay.

It’s a great place to stay for laidback relaxing and a great hub for fishing, hiking, tubing, kayaking and sightseeing. The hosts have supplied everything you need for a great vacation.

Perfect Family Getaway

The cabin is clean and spacious with good access to Craig’s creek and the Jefferson National Forest. Lots of wildlife to observe.

Graduation Getaway

This was a perfect place for our family to stay and enjoy time together during the week of our daughter's graduation from VA Tech. We loved the view of the field from the living room and access to the river in the back.

This was our third stay at the cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We are an outdoors family. We fished, kayaked, hiked and just relaxed on the porches enjoying the scenery. My family is looking forward to returning next year.

We arrived late in evening. Cabin on dark road with several trailors and mobile homes at entrance. We were given the impression we had pricacy. Not the case. It is in a less than desirable area. The cabin needs updating to include fixing the smell. Cabin stinks musty odor plus severe sulfur smell with some flavored odor attempt to cover the stink. The outside is overgrown. Needs deep cleaning and paint. The VRBO ad does NOT represent what the cabin is really like inside or outside. This cabin also gives the impression that you have privacy and the area is be itself. It in fact is Not private and there is a trailor and several cabins bext door. It was so bad we checked out the next morning as soon as we could, we just couldn’t stay there. It smelled too bad. It was gross.

Beautiful cabin in the mountains

The cabin was beautiful, clean and wonderfully stocked. We enjoyed the creek, fishing, peaceful evenings in the deck and watching the deer in the field.

beautiful and relaxing stay

Our family had an amazing time here. There are so many great things to do at the cabin without even having to leave. We have a toddler and it’s very kid friendly! The views were gorgeous and the river was so fun! We hope to come back in the future!

Great place to stay

The Cabin on the Craig is one of the best places I’ve stayed because of all the various activities available due to its location. Lots of kayaking, tubing and fishing right off the back yard. Also you can sit on the back porch, relax and just watch the water flow by. Lots of wildlife to view there too. If you like rustic, peaceful getaways, this is the place for you!

It's Perfect

This cabin is perfect for a getaway in the mountains to hike and enjoy beautiful Craig's Creek. The owners have thought of every detail to make it a good stay. We will be returning to this property.

Amazing time here at the cabin!

Amazing time here at the cabin! The amenities were awesome and the owner was very responsive. We were able to tube going down the creek with the tubes provided and had a blast. We saw river otter, a snack and many dear. Fishing was great also! Highly recommend!

Beautiful and relaxing!

We rented The Cabin on the Craig for our son’s graduation from VA Tech. It was an hour drive but we appreciated the escape from the crowds in Blacksburg. We loved the beautiful surroundings and listening to the sounds of the river. Our hosts were great communicators and honestly thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. We should’ve booked a few more nights just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!
