Welcome to The Retreat! An adorable and comfortable cottage just steps from the beach. This two bed + loft, two full bath, free standing home is in a private setting on a culda sac street. It sleeps 8 and is your perfect getaway for peace and relaxation.

The Retreat is located on popular Broadkill Beach - a charming place to relax, unwind, and renew. The space is simple and serene, yet has everything one needs.

Steps to the beach with a large deck, outdoor shower, and fenced backyard, this house welcomes pets! Main Floor living with a bright open floor plan with skylights and hardwood floors makes getting around easy. The main bedroom has a private bath with a beautiful large walk in shower.

Broadkill beach is away from the hustle and bustle of Rehoboth and Lewes Beach. Play board games on the all seasons screened in front porch, or grill out on the spacious front deck. Walk down to the Broadkill beach country store for some ice cream or legendary cheese steaks.

The Retreat is just 20 minutes from the charming and historic town of Lewes and Lewes Beach. Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes is stunning-make sure you check out the historic Army Base and Fort Miles. Also within short driving distance is Delaware Turf Sports Complex.

-the boardwalk at Rehoboth Beach

The place was clean and very nice. I would recommend bringing wash clothes (2 at house), additional kitchen trash bags and toilet paper. These items were very limited.However, I would not hesitate to rebook and will be in the future. I may consider renting a beach buggy for future stays.

Property was a convenient location and very well-kept. Had a nice warm shower and a very comfortable sleep and stay. Short walk to the beach, which made for a nice morning walk. Full kitchen available for use. Experienced a glitch with the keypad code at check-in but host was very responsive to our reaching out for help, and they were able to remotely reset the keypad to help us gain entry to the property. Would stay there again if in the area in the future.

This is a lovely beach-neighborhood cottage, with a comfy vibe. It has a nice layout with the living space on one side of the kitchen/dining area, and the bedrooms and baths on the other side, so that those who are sleeping aren't disturbed by those talking or playing games or watching TV. The kitchen is very well equipped. Being answer older cottage, there are only a few steps up to the deck and front door, which was helpful for our older mom who was vacationing with us. (Fyi, unfortunately there were no grab bars in the showers though.) The close proximity to Prime Hook Refuge provides easy access to many paths and boardwalks, good fishing and wildlife sightings. And we saw many different birds from the cottage deck every day. With the help of the Merlin bird ID app, we identified 10 different birds over our morning coffee. Truly serene and peaceful.

Great stay at a greatplace

Two families staying together for father's day weekend and we had a really lovely time. The house was great with a surprisingly well-equipped kitchen and the host was super helpful and the instructions were all clear. Beach was a short walk away and the neighborhood is nice as could be. Thumbs up, do recommend.

Excellent

Communication was excellent. We spent two nights visiting family on our way to Florida. The accommodations were outstanding. The block and a half to walk to the beach was fabulous. As we were visiting in late November we had the beach all to ourselves. We will definitely stay here again.

Great house!

We had a wonderful stay at Broadkill Beach. The house was great. Just as described on the listing. The master shower is huge and it's very welcome after a day out on the beach. Only 20 minutes from DE Turf fields, which is the reason we were in DE. Would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed this house, very comfortable for four of us and a dog. Appliances are new and worked as they should. The front living room is a great place to gather, watch tv, and play games. The area is great for walks, and the beach isn’t far. Very quiet in early June. This was our first time staying in Broadkill. We would definitely book this house again if we come back to the area.

We stayed here for four nights in the middle of the week in mid-October. Highly recommend! It was very comfortable for us. I loved being able to walk to the beach, but then also being among the trees when sitting on the porch. We cooked all of our meals at the cottage, enjoyed sitting in the sunroom, and slept well in the comfortable bed. It is not too far of a drive to the grocery store in Milton, and also not far to drive to Lewes and Rehoboth for a day trip. We would definitely stay again!

easy walk to the beach - no bugs - nice relaxing

The house was very comfortable - well equipped kitchen was appreciated - easy walk to the beach - no bugs - nice relaxing weekend. we appreciated that it was pet friendly and not a dump - nice house - one suggestion for improving would be to add or move a gate to the front steps of the porch so that pets could be let out into the back yard more easily and they could hang out on the porch with their people. Thanks for sharing your house and beach with us.

We are a family of 5 that loves travel and the beach! We rent this home but also use it. Any day spent by the beach is a good day! My kids spent hours flipping over the horseshoe crabs or collecting shells. The expansive beach makes for a delightful sunset beach walk.

Broadkill beach has a variety homes and lots of personality. We love the serene calm beach atmosphere without all the hustle and bustle of the neighboring beach towns. But, great restaurants and activities for the kids are just a short drive away!

You can hear the ocean waves from the front porch. The short one block walk to the beach is delightfully beachy with a sandy road and houses on stilts. Truly relax and unwind on this getaway.

Our cozy beach cottage sleeps up to 6, but still feels comfortably spacious when some time in the kitchen or front porch. Front porch hanging is the quintessential Delaware beach past time.
