HAWAII AT ITS BEST! From the privacy of the extra long lanai (exclusive to 3 units), you will enjoy the perfect vantage point for watching whales seasonally, spinning dolphins, turtles, surfers, sailboats, and listen to the crashing waves. The small Banyan Tree condo complex is located midway between Kailua Kona and Keauhou. The Banyan Tree is a small, well-kept complex with only 20 units so it never feels crowded. The property is located as close as you can get to the Pacific Ocean. In fact new construction is no longer allowed to be as close to the ocean as Banyan Tree. The heated, ocean front pool has mesmerizing views and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs. Barbecue grills and a hot tub are also poolside. A spacious veranda next to the unit offers amazing views and larger tables for entertaining. Directly next door is a small, sandy beach which is a perfect entry for surfing, boogie boarding and paddle boarding.

Banyan Tree is centrally located on the sunny side of the Big Island in Kailua-Kona. Top rated restaurants like the Poke Shack and local farmers markets are minutes away. Downtown Kona, with galleries and shops is less than three miles. Alii drive, which is great for ocean walks, is right out the back door. Ready for the beach? Magic Sands Beach is less than a mile away. Kahalu'u Beach is only two miles and has easy snorkeling where you can get up-close to beautiful reefs and abundant sea life. It's also a perfect place to learn to surf. Postcard perfect beaches such as Hapuna Beach and Kua Bay are to the north and Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and Captain Cooks monument lie to the south. Since Banyan Tree is located about halfway up the coast you can drive to either end of the island in about 30 minutes. When you're done just park in your designated parking stall and take the elevator steps away to your retreat!

Let the ocean lull you to sleep!

Great property right on the ocean. The sound of the waves will lull you to sleep every night. Property owner great to deal with. Recommended!

Gorgeous Ocean Front Property, Surfers and Sunsets

Perfect location close to shops, shopping, restaurants and beaches. Condo was roomy for four adults and a baby, and was well equipped and up to date, nicely decorated. The manager was friendly and responsive.

Perfect week. very comfortable beds, 25 feet from edge of ocean. Like most everywhere, the property is not EV friendly, but that, hopefully,will change in the future with all rental properties

Best family vacation

Loved this condo! It had everything we needed for the perfect family vacation. It had all the things you would need for a fun beach day. Kitchen is stocked well for a home cooked meal. Spent a lot of time on the patio looking at the amazing views. Beautiful sunsets and watching surfers! We chased waterfalls, hiked to green sands beach, hiked at the volcano and stopped by black sand beach.Thankful for how quiet this property was especially after an active day. This vacation was good for the soul.

Amazing Views!

We enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend and would stay here again! Easy check in, very clean and well stocked. Loved the two king beds! I chose to sleep in the full sized pull out to be closer to the ocean waves and it could use an update. Had one small issue (operator error). Dawn provided a quick and very easy solution. Mahalo, Dawn!

It rained on Kona the entire week e were there, but this beautiful location right in the beach was our saving grace! We could sit on our covered patio and watch the surf and surfers and feel we were in the beach. Property has two king beds, one in a separate bedroom and one that is able to be closed off with sliding panels for privacy. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, it was perfect for two couples traveling together. Dawn is wonderful to work with and we would definitely choose this location again.

An Oceanfront Beauty!

My girlfriend and I just returned from a week at this property and loved every minute! It is exactly as advertised. The condo is steps from the water, providing awesome views of turtles and surfers, as well as daily sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. It is close to town with shops and restaurants minutes away. The Banyan Tree is a small complex with an elevator and covered parking onsite....all welcome amenities! The unit is nicely furnished and well stocked with all the conveniences of home. We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem for our next Kona visit😎

Wonderful vacation in a tropical dream location

My husband and I stayed in Dawn's fabulous condo for 2 weeks and loved it. To be right next to the ocean, to hear the surf, watch the surfers every day was fantastic. The condo had everything we could ask for from dishes, pots and pans, spices, a rice cooker(!), to beach towels and beach equipment. The beds were extremely comfortable. (Did I mention the surf? It was like a lullaby at night.) Although the unit has air conditioning, we didn't have need of it since the trade winds were blowing daily. Opening up the front door as well as the sliders allowed for the unit to be fully cooled. One day we were treated to our very own dolphin show when a pod of spinner dolphins appeared. Soon snorkel boats also appeared. The dolphins stayed in the area right in front of the condo complex all morning, jumping, splashing, and generally providing us with free entertainment. One day we watched turtles feed, and on another day we were amazed when, while watching the surfers, we noticed that due to the clear water, you could actually see yellow tangs swimming. And the unit is on the 2nd floor! We made frequent use of the pool and hot tub. The condo sits in an ideal location between the south part of the island and the west portion. If you enjoy snorkeling, don't miss Kahalu'u beach. Although a bit tricky to enter the water, the number and variety of fish is wonderful. Visit a coffee plantation, drive to the Kiluea volcano, hike to see petroglyphs. But at the end of a busy day of sightseeing, returning to this wonderful ocean-front condo can't be beat. Cook some island fresh fish or purchase a take out meal from one of the local restaurants, then enjoy your meal out on the lanai. Dawn or Ian will answer any questions you might have. Enjoy.

Terrific property and amazing oceanfront view!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Banyan Tree! Not only was Dawn a pleasure to work with and provided quick responses to questions, but the property was attractive, clean and represented accurately in the listing. The space was large enough for the five adults in our party, but would sleep six, if needed. The views were stunning! While enjoying the lanai, we saw surfers, dolphins and a whale. The sunsets were breathtaking! The elevator and rolling carts were welcomed accessories to transport the suitcases and the food from the multiple trips to the store. The unit came equipped with everything we needed to prepare multiple meals and we also used the outdoor grill near the pool. The washer and dryer unit was a plus. The layout worked well with the double sinks off the master and a separate door to the shower and toilet. The pocket doors allowed privacy and allowed multiple people to get ready at the same time. It was nice that the second bedroom and detached bath were at the front of the unit. During our visit, we used the ceiling and floor fans and the unit was comfortable. It took a little time to navigate the pullout wall between the master and living area, but it worked well, once it was in place. We had no issues with the internet and never turned on the TV. An additional stand in the living area for the 5th/6th suitcase would be a nice touch. In the condo, we spent most of our time on the lanai, and with the waves as a backdrop, were able to talk without feeling that we were disturbing our neighbors. The two beach chairs were definitely used as well as the beach towels that Dawn provided. The location is ideal in that it is convenient to go north or south, yet it has a more residential feel without excessive traffic. The Safeway and Walmart are about a 10 to 15 minute drive. During our trip, we really enjoyed the morning kayak trip to Captain Cook, and snorkeling at Kahaluu Beach and Two Step Beach. Volcano National Park was part of our week and staying to see the volcano at dusk was worth the drive. The food at Thai Thai Restaurant near the volcano was wonderful. Our drive back via Hilo and Saddleback Road offered us a drive through the clouds, near sunset, and one of the most color hued skies that we have every seen. Our Big Island trip was incredible and our accommodations helped to make it a great trip.

Don’t look any further—book this one

This condo is perfect! Location is quiet, watch the surfers from the balcony, see the waves roll in from a pool chair. A well appointed, updated and well stocked condo. Communication with the owner was awesome even letting us know we could check in early. Wonderful stay and couldn’t have been better!

I Don’t Know Where I’m a Gonna Go When the Volcano Blows

More fun than expected watching surfers at almost all daylight hours. On the last day, rushed to Kīlauea to catch episode 22 of the Halemaʻumaʻu eruption. Unbelievable. Location is great, communication with the owner was great.

Review Banyan Beach Condo April 26/25-May 3/25-Sue & Jeff from Gig Harbor, WA Sue here.... Loved this place! It was the perfect location -close to the airport, minutes from downtown, close to kayaking and snorkeling adventures and right on the beach where we could watch surfers on the lanai ! That was Sue’s evaluation now here’s mine-the pragmatic Jeff approach….I use the Good, the Bad and the Ugly scale. First the Good-If you love the sound of surf this is the place for you! When they say it’s on the beach, they mean it is ON the beach!  Premium view of surfers and sunsets! The layout of the unit is perfect. Parking was so easy with the reserved spot. Pool and BBQ are nicely located as in we could BBQ while watching the sunset or be in the pool! The unit was well equipped with all the beach stuff you need. The Bad-hmmm…….hmmm……couldn’t find a roller pizza cutter to cut our “Hawaiian pizza” LOL The Ugly-ok hmmm……hmmm….salt water spray on the windshield in the morning?  We dealt with it LOL P.s. check in and check out procedures were very detailed by email, just read them (don't be like me and forget to check your email cuz you are on island time!)

Lovely stay in Kona waking up to surfers and dolphins

We had a wonderful stay at this oceanfront condo. I really appreciated that the kitchen had some basic cooking essentials like salt/pepper, oil, etc. and that we were able to borrow snorkeling gear and a couple of beach chairs when visiting the beach. The description of the condo is accurate. The condo is clean and has a perfect view to watch the sunset. Communication with Dawn was easy, as was the check-in and check-out process. I would happily stay here the next time we visit the Big Island. Mahalo!
