The Barn has stunning views over open countryside, with enclosed lawn and garden with a private terrace, hard wood garden furniture and BBQ. Free WiFi. under-floor heating, slate flooring except bedrooms. Dishwasher, washer/dryer. We provide crisp white bed linen and fluffy towels, soap, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, washing machine tablets and a couple of loo rolls to get you started.
The bedrooms and living room has lined heavy curtains to help keep the cottage warm in the winter and the sun out for a restful sleep in the summer.
The Barn has a twin bedroom downstairs with bathroom adjacent and the Double bedroom upstairs with a shower and WC adjacent, the extra bed is on a gallery.
The cottage is on a working arable farm with a choice of easy circular footpaths and longer walks across the Chew Valley and Mendip Hills (AONB).
Noah's Ark and Chew Valley animal parks are good for children with many National trust property's a short drive and the vibrant centre of Bristol, the old harbourside and Cabot Circus shopping easily reached.
Friday changeover during school holidays. Friday and Monday changeover otherwise.
The cottage is cleaned to the latest Covid19 protocols and approved by Visit England and the AA.

We had a wonderful stay at The Barn. The cottage is situated in a beautiful rural area but still close to Bristol. The views are amazing and we even spotted some deers. The cottage is very well equipped and clean. Gary and Fiona are lovely hosts. Our girls absolutely loved their dog Ozzy. We had a great week!

Convenient location between 2 other places

Comfortable well equipped property with ample kitchen items. We enjoyed the walking paths nearby.

Beautiful Barn restoration with modern amenities.

Beautiful accommodations in a scenic quiet setting. Close to towns with everything you need including pubs/restaurants. Great home base for exploring to many things to do and see in the area. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect stay for Bristol & Bath

The cottage is very nice, clean and well equipped. You have everything you need and it is quiet (except noises from cows and chicken😉). Gary and Fiona are very nice hosts and help wherever they can.

Excellent!

This was a gorgeous cottage that was modern, spacious and clean. The hosts made time to say hello and check that all was well. I enjoyed the walks and the view from the cottage was lovely. We enjoyed pub lunches recommended by the hosts in Chew Magna and around the stone cirles. It was really nice, too, for a day in Bristol.

Charming Rural Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at The Barn .Fiona and Gary are great hosts, lovely people, always ready(with a smile) to help out with any queries. The cottage itself is furnished to a very high standard with everything you could possibly need in a holiday cottage. Lovely week.

We really enjoyed our stay here in this comfortable,well equipped clean cottage.We slept well in the comfortable beds. Mr and Mrs Sweet ,the owners,were welcoming and informative about the local areas. We appreciated the welcoming basket of goodies too.There was some plane noise as Bristol airport is only a few miles away. But not enough to disturb us.

Escape to the Country!

The Barn is in an idyllic setting with magnificent country views. It is excellently appointed and well maintained. Our hosts, Fiona and Gary Sweet, could not have been more helpful and informative. It was lovely being able to sit on the south facing terrace and observe the wildlife and birdsong all around. The meadows were burgeoning with echiums, fennel and a variety of other wild flowers. A real Escape to the Country!

De ontvangst door Gary was hartelijk en het contact is gedurende de vakantie erg vriendschappelijk en behulpzaam geweest. Hoewel het huisje op het terrein van de eigenaren staat, hebben we daar niets negatiefs over te zeggen. We hebben genoten van dit mooie onderkomen, dat van alle gemakken is voorzien. Gary geeft desgewenst tips over bezienswaardigheden. Wat ons ook heel veel deugd heeft gedaan is de sprankelende aanwezigheid van hond Ozzy. Al met al zijn de twee weken omgevlogen. We zullen deze accommodatie zeker aanraden aan vrienden en bekenden.

Park Farm is a working arable and grassland farm situated in the Hamlet of Norton Hawkfield in the Chew Valley.
Gary is the 3rd generation of the Sweet family to farm here, originally a Dairy Farm but moved to beef production and now mostly arable with grass made into hay for sale.
Wildlife conservation and preservation of habitat is and increasingly important role for the family with access to well made footpaths for walkers to enjoy the countryside.
