Welcome to River & Castle @ Ryedale House - A superb 2 bedroom property that offers truly spectacular views over Clifford's Tower and the River Foss.

Ryedale House is an exclusive, private development in the heart of York's historic core beside the River Foss. The building benefits from secure allocated parking. River & Castle sits on the 5th floor and has been finished to a very high standard internally.

Upon entering the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area for the first time you will be immediately struck by the amazing amount of natural light coming into the apartment from the floor to ceiling windows. The views over the various city landmarks are simply stunning. There is a seating area complete with LCD TV and Amazon Prime included, occasional chairs and beanbags plus a comfortable 3 seater sofa that has the added benefit of being able to convert to a sofa bed to accommodate an additional 2 guests.

The kitchen area has been designed to the highest standards and features premium Neff appliances throughout. The dining area can seat 6 for dinner.

The high quality wooden floors throughout the apartment also have the added benefit of underfloor heating.

The master bedroom features a king size bed, wall mounted TV and home office space, perfect for working from home. The bedroom also has an ensuite complete with underfloor heating and bath with over head shower. The second bedroom of the apartment features twin beds. Both the bedrooms benefit from having USB sockets near the beds and high quality carpets throughout.

There's also a separate shower and toilet just off the hallway.

The apartment also has the added benefit of an allocated, secure car park space on-site.

Please note, Ryedale House does not have dedicated disabled access, such as wheelchair ramps.

Access to the building is via a couple of steps at the main entrance and also from the rear car park. Guests with mobility requirements should take this into consideration when making their booking.

Super 10 night stay at River and Castle.

Our 2nd stay at Ryedale House, we loved the views and spectacular sunsets from River and Castle, the location is ideal a short walk to the attractions, the gated parking is a bonus, will definitely be back.

Perfect fit for our needs

As a family of four - 2 adults with grown up children this apartment was ideal. The beds were super comfy and the apartment was well maintained and very quiet. Location is ideal and we were able to explore York entirely on foot. Having a parking space included was a great bonus.

A super apartment, beautifully clean and well appointed. A small welcome pack. It would benefit from the large desk and chair being removed from the main bedroom as it is quite congested. Just a heads up - you need to remember to take shampoo and shower gel as this isn’t provided. Looking forward to staying again.

River and Castle

I stayed here for around 5 months whilst working in York, the apartment itself is lovely, lots of space, clean and modern. Parking is good, if the car parks full it can be tricky getting into your own space. I like the fact it has security gated access, makes you feel very safe. The apartment itself is absolutely red hot when the suns out as it hits the apartment all day. Very enjoyable, would stay again.

Birthday weekend

We had a lovely stay, location excellent and views fabulous. Nicely furnished and on site parking a bit bonus. The major downside was the faulty sliding window to the lounge. There was a note to state if was faulty and not to open it. However in its closed state the cold wind came in on both the side and top of the frame. We tried placing cushions and blankets but it was uncomfortably cold in the lounge all weekend whereby we had to sit wrapped in blankets. I would stay again but only once the window is fixed or in the summer months.

Perfect UK staycation Castle & River

Really lovely apartment located in a well maintained building, everything was clean and tidy. The parking was a must for us and due to the location we didn't need to move our car for the entire stay which was great. We stayed end of July and it was very hot and sunny and due to the direction our windows faced it did make it hot in the afternoon and evening, the living room could have benefited from a different style of window dressing to help with the heat and also to make it a bit easier to see the television when chilling out from a busy day! Communication was good with hosts, I would definitely recommend this apartment and if the others in this block are of the same standard you won't be disappointed.

A birthday break

A lovely apartment and view good lady Dawn at reception was so helpful The keysafe is difficult to find maybe putting the apartment number on it would be easier Just small things could be better No cleaning materials left such as polish ,black bags which I would have thought would be there, hoover required emptying smelling when used A washing machine but no clothes dryer to hang clothes Oven tray needs replacing not fit for use
