Situated directly across from one of the most historic sites in York, Clifford's Tower. It is now all that remains of York Castle, set upon a mound which was originally built by William the Conqueror, and it is on the doorstep of 1 Peckitt Street.

Newly refurbished this comfortable two-bedroom apartment is a perfect place to base yourself, ready for your time in the historic City of York. With one of the most historic buildings directly on your doorstep you don't have far to go to start your journey. The apartment has lovely stripped wooden floors and high ceilings, all contributing to a wonderful light, bright and airy feel. The open plan living area has large windows to make the very most of the view and the both the sofa and dining table provide ideal spots to just sit back, relax and watch the world go by. The lovely kitchen area has granite work surfaces and is fitted with everything that you will need, right down to the dishwasher and washer dryer. Whether you are here for a quick City break or longer, it has everything that you may need. The bedrooms are again light and airy, and both have big comfortable beds in which to snuggle down into at the end of your very busy day. The bathroom boasts a luxury walk in shower and is perfect for getting ready for your day, or evening out in the fantastic City of York, the heart of which is a matter of minutes’ walk from your door. Please note, this apartment is based on the ground floor.

A lovely stay, convenient for the shops and our family

We had a great stay, the accommodation was clean, comfortable and convenient to the shops and close to where our family were also staying. We did have an issue with the hob on the first night but this was rectified the next day. Would happily stay there again.

Great area to stay in. Walkable to everywhere. No street parking but the lot a block away is ok with free overnight parking until 8 am but then charges during the day. Unit was clean and comfortable

Wonderful flat close to everything in York

Spent one night here with spouse and two kids. It was the perfect base for a quick visit to explore York. Loved the kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bedrooms, and really appreciated having a washer-dryer to do some loads of laundry (this was a stopover during a two week trip). It felt special to be in the shadow of Clifford’s Tower and we loved the easy ground floor access. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Lovely stay in the centre of York

From booking, the communication from Stays York was great. The apartment was very clean and beds super comfortable. It had spacious rooms and was well equipped for making use of the kitchen. The starter pack of coffee, tea, milk and biscuits was a nice touch. The location was ideal being located just minutes from the centre of York, with a wonderful view of Clifford’s Tower. However, the location on a busy road meant that noise could be heard through the night. Overall, we had a lovely stay in the apartment and would definitely stay here again when visiting York!

It should be noted that this is a very busy road, even though it looks quiet in the photos. It’s quite loud until late and starts up again really early. BUT.. the location is great. You’re walking to everything, shambles is a few minutes walk. Lots of shopping and restaraunts around. The apartment is awesome. It’s a great layout with a lot of separation. The laundry is a nice touch and was super helpful. Overall we loved it and stay again for sure!

A weekend at Peckitt St in York

We we blown away with how nice the apartment was when we arrived and how close it is to the Clifford Tower. The pictures on the advert were not superimposed - it really is that close! So a perfect location! The apartment itself was ample size for us (but we were just a couple) but the second bedroom would accommodate another couple. The kitchen and bathroom were of good quality and style fitting a luxury apartment. Also loved the fact we didn’t have to carry around keys (digital pad entry). We had a great nights sleep with the bed being really comfortable and the apartment was clean and offered everything we required. The only thing was that it didn’t include parking but there was a huge car park literally across the road, so wasn’t a problem. Would definitely recommend and stay again! Thank you.

Beautiful apartment if you don’t want to sleep.

The apartment is beautiful, it’s in a great location and is well equipped. But we had two issues that made our stay absolutely miserable. First the fire/carbon monoxide alarms in the bedrooms have a flashing light, that in a pitch black bedroom is like a strobe light. I am a good sleeper but it woke me up several time and made it hard to go back to sleep. My friend struggled significantly with the heat. It’s understandable that they don’t want you opening the windows onto the busy road but to have the heating set to 29* was painful as we didn’t realise until it was on in the middle of the night. My friend came and woke me up at 3am because she couldn’t figure out how to turn the heating off and it was stiflingly hot in the apartment. We set up the fans provided but it didn’t really help as it just moved the hot air around. After that the blinking light kept me from falling back to sleep, so we were all exhausted and struggled to enjoy the rest of our York trip.
