Very convenient...

Very convenient for the two pubs, shop, restaurant and mill pond side bar. Fix the Temperature Control knob for the Shower (in the cubical, not the one over the bath), as it is very stiff and hard to turn to cold, even when depressing the catch.

Great little find!

Spacious property, with loads of helpful things like plenty of saucepans, crockery, board games, clothes airer etc. Great central location to explore the surrounding area e.g. 20 mins from Paignton, Totnes etc. Situated in a very pretty village with two pubs, two restaurants/cafes and a post office/village store. Highly recommended.

Dart Retreat has once again proved welcoming, comfortable and relaxing escape from the every day. Nothing has been overlooked - thankyou! We arew already looking forward to a return visit.

It was very beautiful.

This is a holiday terraced house with its own parking space in front of the garages (although parking there was a bit difficult for us, there was an alternative option and the residents of the neighbouring house were very friendly and helped us out). One of the two upstairs bedrooms has a view of the tributary of the River Dart. The drive into Stoke Gabriel was much narrower than expected, but that is probably something you have to anticipate when travelling around South West England on a self-organised garden tour with a hire car (definitely read everything carefully when picking up the vehicle!!!!). In return, Stoke Gabriel has a shop selling, among other things, fruit and vegetables, at least one very lovely pub, and at least one restaurant that was open. From Dart Retreat, we visited Coleton Fishacre and Dartmoor National Park (Haytor Rocks), both of which are highly recommended.
