The fishing village of Alvor (13 km in the other direction) is worth a visit and and Portimão (15 km) has a great shopping centre. Golf enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the many golf courses in the area, notably Penina Championship course and Palmares, especially the links which run behind Meia Praia beach, both courses just 5 minutes away.
