Family Beach Week

Great location for beach access, convenient, and clean. Not ideal sharing The Pubs deck - a pleasing and a curse - great food, drinks and helpful staff, but loud for sleeping much before 1-1:30 AM.

Where to begin. We arrived on the first day and were greeted by Emily. She was very sweet and helpful but the problems within the house were numerous. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is that the house was nothing like the pictures. The dining table was shakey and the chairs in awful condition, one of which was completely broken and not safe for sitting on. I rented this house to be nearby the university for my two kids who were graduating and planned to cook meals for the family. Despite the description of the home on VRBO saying utensils and cooking ware were included we were disappointed to find a few crusty pans and no utensils and plates to eat any food off of. RIDICULOUS. I have rented many houses in Rhode island and other locations of VRBO before and I have never had such a disappointing stay anywhere. Last but not least, the house is almost literally stuck to the pub next door where you have no privacy and fall asleep to the loud music and people chattering outside your front window. The only good thing I have to say about this house is the beds upstairs were all new, but the bedroom with the single bed reeks of urine. I would not recommend this property to anyone until proper updates and fixes are made. Disappointing waste of money!

I would like to assure you that we have taken your comments very seriously and have continued to make upgrades to the cottage - including new kitchen wares. You are correct that the images in the photos are different because we have actually been making continuous upgrades, including new paint (some brighter colors) and all new bed frames and mattresses (upgraded from fulls to queens). Horrible place. Do not book!

We are very disappointed with the rental home. Warning for others since Homeaway.com will not take action. Do NOT Book this place! The rental is not as promised. It's in the same premises as an Irish pub. The bar stools you see in the Oceanview picture listed with the property is the Pub. Folks can stare right into the living room sitting on those. The pub is too loud, too noisy! Especially at night. We were up until 1 am due to pub noise. The pub blares out radio as early as 10 AM. Contrary to the listing, this is not a quiet get away. The kitchen does not have essentials. It does not have 7 spoons! (the place is listed for 7 people). Dishes, pots and pans were not clean. We had to wash them. Refrigerator doesn't cool properly. No extra trash bags. Dining table chairs were in bad shape. One was broken! Living room lights were broken! The coat closet had renovation supplies (paint) in it! The bathrooms does not have soap/shampoo. Shower doors are broken (water spills out). This is not a 'quiet get-away' for a family vacation with kids. Even worse if that after complaining, the property owner took no action. Neither did Homeaway.com. I've rented multiple times from this website but never had such a horrible experience. Will never rent again.

Ravish, I hope you understand that I did receive your complaints via the site and responded immediately through the site, per their third party site procedures. Upon receiving our reply it was their decision to close the case. The most upsetting part of this review to me is that you did not reach out to us during your stay to let us know that there were problems with the house. When you did reach out for a wine key we brought it immediately and I assure you had you reached out for extra silverware or to report the issue with the refrigerator we would have had an equally prompt response time. In our description we do not say that we are a quiet beach getaway (nor did we change our profile as you claimed). I am sorry that our beach cottage did not meet your expectations and I wish you the best in your future bookings. Kind regards, Emily

Great location!

Great location for adults as it is attached to a deck shared with a pub. Beautiful view, the sunset was amazing. Very clean and comfortable cottage. Only downside,no TV. Will definitely come back.

Beautiful beachfront getaway!

We stayed over Columbus Day weekend for a moms getaway! It was the perfect place to find serenity on the couch over looking the ocean. The house was modern and clean, had lots of storage and plenty of places to sit. The beds were clean and comfortable. Dishes, silverware, pans, coffee maker, toaster etc we’re all provided. It was a beautiful cottage!! This place is connected to the pub deck which wasn’t a problem in the fall but would be a little much for my family in the summer time. There is also very little beach to park a blanket on (especially sharing with the pub) which is why I only gave this place 4 stars! All in all, we plan to be back next year for another fall getaway!!!

Great Beach House for Young Adults

My adult children, husband and I just spent 3 nights at this property. Great views of the ocean and very convenient to grab a quick meal or draft beer at the next door pub. (Also highly recommend breakfast at either the Ocean Mist or The Pub- you can eat in the restaurant or get it to go. We had wonderful breakfast burritos and Lobster Benedict.) We had a couple of hiccups along the way (needed an extra fan, had to order linen service, etc.) and Emily was absolutely delightful to work with to make sure everything was resolved as soon as possible! She responded immediately to any question or concern. Our millennial kids ages 24-28, loved the rental! It was great to enjoy the ambience of a pub, views of the ocean and still have a private space to be away from the crowd. The property has a very nice deck with large picnic table, perfect for your own happy hour or a late night card game. You can also enjoy listening to the live bands in the evening. I highly recommend the location for bachelorette parties, a family weekend with adult children or a quick stay in Narragansett. I wouldn’t reccomend the location for families with small children. It is definitely a fun party atmosphere and can be loud at night. (We brought earplugs along just in case). Extra bonus: the property has a full bathroom with a rain shower head with great water pressure AND a half bath on the first floor. Most properties in the area only have one bath. It was great for getting ready in the mornings or for a special event (we were in town for a friend’s wedding.)

Good place for 6 adults for a family weekend. Know that house is connected to pub deck. Wasn’t too loud or disruptive. Access to private beach. Dog friendly. Emily was very responsive & easy to work with. Cons: No linens/towels provided, no washer/dryer, no AC, no grill.

Great views, steps to the beach

Wonderful experience at this beach house!! Emily is super friendly and quick to answer whatever questions may arise. First floor has excellent open concept living room, dining room, kitchen. Windows open overlooking the ocean! Kitchen has pots and everything you need to make a meal. Some dining room chairs have look of wear and tear but that didn’t bother us because we spent most of our meals eating on the outdoor deck!! Steps down to the beach. Very easy to get back and forth to beach with two little ones. Pub is right next door, outdoor patrons do eat and smoke right in front of your deck. Music can be noisy at night. It was never so bad that we couldn’t deal with it. Everyone on property is very friendly. Without the pub, this is a 5 star ocean front property. Walking distance to local market, pizza, surf shop, ice cream. Short drive to downtown Narragansett. Emily was fantastic and would definitely stay here again.
