The following is the response to Peter. He sent me a message on the VRBO platform and each item he complained about, I responded to after consulting with VRBO. At no time pre visit did he inquire about connectivity, it is disclosed on our property description, nor did he mention about needing to be in constant contact with home. At no time did I ever tell him that he would have to make phone calls several miles away in town. What I had said to him in a text message with the check-in information was that if they did not have good service, they would have it at the little country store which is less than a half a mile away. And once they got here, they could sign into our Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is not even necessary to use your cell phone on our property. Cell phone communication is all that we have. We do not Wi-Fi call. We were at home and sitting on the deck, and I even waved and said hello to him when they arrived. They had every opportunity to come out and ask us to help them connect to the Internet. I believe that Peter and his wife had other reasons that they did not want to stay on our property. What he has posted in the review is very different than the communications that were between him and I on the VRBO site. This is a very unfortunate situation . It is in poor taste to lie about our property and the communications that we had. There is no hidden or faults advertising in our booking .He booked a rural property. One have to expect in the country, wifi is not as it is in town. Also, the rental is an RV… it is not a luxury rental… its a trailer which is clear from our listing. We upgraded the mattress to an organic bamboo mattress and not one person who has ever slept on it felt it was uncomfortable. Again , the following was my response to him. We we’re sorry they did not give it a chance. It is a fun country camping experience. ***** MY RESPONSE TO PETER Good evening… I am very sorry that you did not feel like the accommodations met your standards. I did make a call to VRBO to get advice as I have never come up with this situation with any guest we have ever had stay here. You can see by our ratings that, our guests have been thoroughly and completely happy. At this time I cannot commit to giving you a refund, however, I will attempt to book the property through Wednesday on another platform and if that does happen, I could issue you a refund. With that being said, it is very short notice, so not likely. I am surprised that you did not not have cell service with our WiFi and really wish that you had of said something to us so we could come down and perhaps check out your weak service and maybe give you some some advice for improving it. As I stated in my text message to you we have already had two guests this year and no one has had any problem connecting. As far as the bed goes, the mattress is actually an organic bamboo mattress, which is an upgrade from a traditional RV mattress. The fact that the gun range is up our road has never been an issue nor would never have crossed our mind to list it on our property description. My husband and I were sitting on the deck when you arrived and there was no shooting occurring at that time. The fact that there is a gun range up the road and that it is a place where our local law-enforcement and some military officers train is actually a plus to many of our guests that stay here. You could try giving VRBO a call and seeing if they can rebook you somewhere through their customer care program. The other option is you could complete your stay with us and give a try staying out in the country. if you read our review from the last couple that left this morning, they love the peace and quiet and thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
