We had an excellent stay! We felt at home in the cottage. It was fully stocked with all the luxuries of home… all we had to provide was our food. My grandchildren loved the pool! Great vacation property with beach access only 3 houses away! This was our 4th year renting this house and we’ve already left a deposit for next year. This house is extremely well-maintained and the lighting upgrades in the master bath were terrific, as was the new mattress in the master bedroom. It was spotless upon our arrival. The inground pool in the back is an added touch when taking a day off from the beach. This is a wonderful home to relax in all while having Armand’s circle within walking distance, as well as having so many options for dining out, some within walking distance and others only a short drive away. Can’t wait to come back next summer!!!!

Pelican Cottage was amazing! Perfect location, great pool, beautiful beach! The walk to the beach was a little lengthy because of a roped off bird sanctuary. But it helped to keep the beach less crowded. The only complaint we have is with the landscaping service. We were woken up early by blowers right outside the window. We believe such services should be reserved for the day of checkout. Otherwise it was a perfect week and we hope to return year after year!!!

Another wonderful stay at Pelican Cottage! Deb and Ed are great hosts. The cottage is in the best location on Lido—-a quiet street within walking distance to St. Armand’s Circle. Perfect location to circle and short walk to beach. Awesome balance of shared space and ability to spread out. I loved getting a few hours of work done on the patio by the pool, watching the sun rise. Deb was super responsive when we had an issue with the lock pad battery getting low- and checked to make sure we were good.

Over thirty five years ago, we met on a California beach while helping a lost child and we've been married and beachcombing around the world ever since - in between raising two incredible children and our careers. Today, our parents live just down the road and we split our time between Lido Key and our home in Ridgefield, CT. We enjoy and love our two family beach cottages, which we have named Lido Pelican Cottage and Lido Flamingo Cottage. We look forward to sharing them with you!

Lido Key (and Sarasota), Florida has just the right combination of incredible beaches and sunsets, terrific dining, shopping and entertainment, and an impressive cultural community with fine arts, opera, ballet, museums and gardens.

Lido Pelican Cottage is just the right size for family and friend gatherings with so much to do within walking distance of the home. This is the perfect vacation spot for the family and friends with multiple and diverse interests!

Expertly outfitted for your comfort, you can grab the beach buggy, load up the chairs, toys and towels and walk down the sand dune path to the beach, OR you can stroll to St Armands Circle, where you can shop, grab a burger or enjoy fine French, Columbian, Asian Fusion or fresh seafood dinner , get ice cream, listen to live music, dance under the stars and enjoy the seasonal festivals that come to the Circle OR you can grab one of the three bicycles and ride around Lido Key, Longboat Key, or even cross the bridge to Sarasota. You can also ride to the other side of Lido Key, where you can rent kayaks and take a guided tour through the mangroves, spotting manatees, dolphins, rays and lots of fish and crabs that live in the bay.
