Nice location, close to military base, beach, and grocery stores. Perfect size for 5 of us and our dog to be comfortable. The arcade cabinet was a plus, as was the hot tub. Fire pit came in handy for the chilly night when we wanted to be outside. Some minor cleanliness issues but nothing to deter another stay, we would gladly come back to this home if opportunity arouse. Host was responsive to messages. If you are looking for a home to stay at to meet a military relative or close to the beach this is definitely one to check out. Great stay.

We enjoyed the stay. The host was very cooperative and easy to reach. Plenty of backyard room for pets and the hot tub was nice. Not far from a beautiful quiet beach. Not far from marine base.

Really great stay. We accidentally got locked out. But we figured it out. Tried to contact the owner as listed at the property but never got a response. Only ding on an otherwise great trip.

Property was fine for us overall as we were in town for a fishing trip. Donald was easy to communicate with if any issues or questions came about. Home could use some TLC in some areas as with most vacation type properties but nothing that majorly affects a stay for a short period.

Exactly What We Needed

This was our second year in this home and we just booked for NEXT year. For what we need, it’s absolutely perfect. The Thompson’s have been wonderful to work with and very accommodating. In return, we try hard to leave their home just as good as we found it.

NC Stay

When we got there both bathrooms were dirty and there was stuff on the master bathroom wall that we had to wash off. Kitchen was also dirty and didn’t look like it got a thorough cleaning from the prior visit. Place was advertised with a washer and dryer and when we got there the washer was unplugged and we were told a day into the stay that one would be there a couple days later. We booked the house based off availability to have a washer and dryer.

Very nice beach get away

It was such a pleasant stay and the property was so nice and clean and spacious. Our 2 pups loved the fenced in yard. Communication with the host was always very quick and helpful. Definitely would stay again!

Topsail Family Trip

We really loved the house. Everything we could ask for was provided. The only issue was the portable air conditioning units. They did not provide enough cooling in the home. There was a window unit in the master bedroom that we were thankful for, but everyone roasted in the other two bedrooms and throughout the house as even though the air conditioners were at 72 per the owners request the temperature in the house reached 88, and didn’t cool down until morning, just to heat back up. There seemed to be central air at one point, but we assume it must have been broken down. Window units in the bedrooms and through the other parts of the home maybe a better option. As everyone was dripping with sweat constantly. Otherwise it is a great place.

Great spot

This was easy to find, and great location for visiting the local beaches. We are able to spread out, and enjoy the house. The backyard was awesome, we would come home after the beach to relax and enjoy! The arcade game was a huge hit too! Highly recommend this home!

Planned power outage

The home itself was clean and welcoming for our family. My only initial complaint was the amount of posion ivy present in the backyard. Considering it is listed as pet friendly, the poison ivy was a concern. Our dogs went up close to it many times, so we had to keep a close eye on them any time we were outside. The power outage is what warranted the bad review. We were not notified of a scheduled power outage by the hosts. The outage was scheduled to last from 12 am till 4 am. It ended up lasting till 5 am. Of course, the hosts had no way of controlling the power outage. They did, however, have the opportunity to notify us beforehand. We have an almost 2 year old with asthma flareups. The house became very hot during the outage. I was worried this would cause a flare up, but had no power to connect her nebulizer. I called and messaged the hosts at 12:30 to which they responded " its a scheduled power outage". Again, we were not notified in any way about the outage before hand. I googled the company that covers the area. The power company sent out letters to all the homes in Sneads Ferry about this, but the hosts failed to tell us. When calling in a frenzy about the power being out, there was no compassion, apologizing, or checking in on our well being. It was as if no power for 5 hours was not their issue. And its not like we could have left somewhere until it ended since it was so late. The experience really messed up our mini vacation.

Great location!!!!

Location of the property was on point. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Dollar General across the street. Beach 10 minutes down the road. Got to spend a lot of time with my granddaughter and daughters which lived 20 minutes away. The backyard was perfect. We had a great time.
