Relax, Recharge @ Stop 41 | Blue Spruce Cabin – Perfect Getaway

If you're looking for a little cottage in the woods, look no further!  The Blue Spruce in Michiana Shores can accommodate 6 people. This charming 2 bedroom, one bath cottage is just a few blocks to a private beach on Lake Michigan and close to the horse stable or charming Stop 50 pizza place. 

As you enter the home, you enter the living room, with plenty of seating for conversations. The bedrooms are on the side of the home away from enteraining areas, so people can rest in peace. The Master Bedroom has a King Size bed with plenty extra room. Bedroom #2 has two twins. The full bathroom is located between the two rooms. 

The Kitchen is fully stocked with a gas stove range, dishwasher and plenty of coutner space. The dining table seats 6 very comfortably. Off the kitchen there are steps down to the basement, with a full size washer and dryer, addtional bathroom. 

The Den is just off the kitchen and has a t.v. and plenty of seating. One of the couches converts into a full sofa bed. 

Come and stay at the Blue Spruce and start making memories!

Musty, stained, dirty. Do not recommend

First the incorrect lockbox code was provided. When we walked in the property immediately smelled very musty. All the chairs have stains on them. The TV is too small for the size of the room and nothing found as to channels available which appeared to be very few. The patio was in need of power washing and general cleaning of the outdoor furniture. One positive was the close proximity to the lake. We both woke with sinus issues due to the musty smell which tells us the property is not a safe health environment.

Needs help

When we arrived and walked in the house it smelled extremely musty,moldy, old. Even with all the windows open it did not improve much. There were only 2 towels in the bathroom (there were 4 of us staying) also there was only 2 rolls of toilet paper. There were dishes in the dish drainer by the sink that were less than clean. There were numerous cob webs in the corner of the kitchen counter. The recycling trash can was sitting in the front yard with trash on the ground. The other trash can was full also so we had nowhere to put our trash. I went to the basement to look for towels and toilet paper and the smell was worse than the upstairs. We could not use the towels from there as they smelled. We were not aware that there was no beach parking- our neighbors across the street told us where to go for beach access. The beach was beautiful. We found the property book of info the day we left as it was buried in a basket hidden behind the TV. The yard was overgrown and not maintained. Patio furniture was filthy. This could be a very cute place but it will require a lot of work.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Monica started North Star Properties with one goal. To better serve the Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan Area with a concierge service mentality for short term rentals. From the North suburbs of Detroit she was bred to be in the real estate industry. Both of her parents were entrepreneurs. She watched as her father built Gauthier Corporation, a very successful construction company, which is still running as strong as ever. Her mother started a cleaning company that meticulously made sure every home shined like the top of the Chrysler building. Working for both of her parents growing up, she understands the drive and passion it takes to achieve success. Prior to starting North Star Properties, she sold real estate on the Northside of Chicago before moving to the Dunes and making a permanent home.
