À propos de cet hébergement
Riverfront Muskoka Retreat. 4 Bedroom Family Escape. Minutes to Bracebridge.
Cedar Shores Lodge — Muskoka River, Bracebridge Quiet riverfront retreat on the Muskoka River, just 10 minutes from downtown Bracebridge.
The Property Located with views of the Muskoka River along the peaceful Matthiasville Road, Cedar Shores Lodge offers a true Muskoka escape without the crowds. Set on roughly two sprawling acres of maintained lawn, there's room to spread out, play, and unwind — all with the river as your backdrop. The waterfront is the heart of this property. A sandy, gradual entry makes it ideal for wading in and cooling off, while the river deepens nicely for a proper swim. Bring a picnic down to the water's edge, fire up the supplied fire bowl (subject to local fire restrictions), and settle in as the river drifts by. An amount of firewood is provided — if you need more, you're welcome to gather appropriately sized deadfall from the surrounding bush.
The House Step inside and you'll find a home built for gathering. The extra-large kitchen anchors the main floor, well-equipped with cookware, crockery, a gas stove, and electric oven — everything you need to cook for a full house. The adjacent dining room keeps everyone connected whether you're prepping meals or sitting down together. The living room invites you to sink in: comfortable couches, a large smart TV, an electric fireplace for cooler evenings, and a solid collection of classic board games. Starlink internet keeps you connected when you want to be. Just off the kitchen, a screened room with lounge seating offers bug-free morning coffees and late-night conversations — no swatting required.
Bedrooms: Master bedroom — King bed, 3-piece ensuite (shower, toilet, vanity), and a dedicated desk for anyone who needs to sneak in a bit of work. Second master — Queen bed with a reading nook by a large rear window, two padded chairs, and a stocked bookshelf. The perfect spot to disappear into a novel. Two kids' rooms — Each with bunk beds, cozy and tucked away. Additional: Full main bathroom with shower-over-bath, washer and dryer, central forced-air heating and cooling.
The Waterfront & Outdoor Living Swimming — Sandy entry, gradual slope, deepens nicely for proper swims. Paddling — One kayak and one paddle board supplied (stored at the back of the house — short carry down to the water). Bring your own lifejackets. Fishing — The Muskoka River holds walleye, pike, and more. Bring your gear and an Ontario fishing license. Fireside — Fire bowl and picnic table right at the shoreline. Lawn games — With two acres of grass, you've got the perfect canvas for croquet, bocce, cornhole — bring your favorites. Deck — Good-sized with a gas barbecue and river views.
Bracebridge & Beyond The cabin feels worlds away, yet downtown Bracebridge is a 10-minute drive — and it punches well above its weight.
Family Fun Santa's Village — Santa's summer home and Muskoka's beloved family theme park. Best for kids up to about 12, with rides, attractions, and that genuine small-park charm. A guaranteed hit with the younger crew.
Waterfalls & Trails Bracebridge is the waterfall capital of Muskoka. High Falls, Wilson's Falls, and Bracebridge Falls are all within easy reach. The Bracebridge Resource Management Centre offers 19 km of hiking and mountain biking trails, and Huckleberry Rock Lookout Trail delivers panoramic views from some of the oldest exposed rock on the planet.
Craft Beer & Local Flavor Hit Muskoka Brewery or Bracebridge Barrelhouse for a flight. Downtown Manitoba Street is lined with independent shops, galleries like MAC on Main, and one of the best independent bookshops in cottage country — Cedar Canoe Books.
Day Trips (Under an Hour) Huntsville (30 min) — Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery, downtown shops, and the gateway to Algonquin. Gravenhurst (15 min) — Muskoka Steamships, the wharf, and classic cottage-country charm. Algonquin Provincial Park (under an hour to the west gate) — Hiking, wildlife, and some of Ontario's most iconic wilderness. Port Carling & Muskoka Lakes (35–45 min) — Boutique shopping, bakeries, and those classic Muskoka vistas.
Local Dining You don't need to cook every night. Bracebridge has a surprisingly strong food scene for a town its size: Riverwalk Restaurant — Fine dining overlooking the waterfalls. Locally sourced, seasonal menu, consistently excellent. The Griffin Gastropub — Elevated pub fare with an extensive Ontario craft beer list. El Pueblito — Authentic Mexican, widely considered the best in Muskoka. Fresh Kutz Market & Grill — The go-to for breakfast and lunch. Massive portions, local favorite, no fuss. Main St. Delicatessen — Smoked meat sandwiches, great poutine, dependable takeout. Nick's — Family-friendly Greek and Canadian comfort food, big breakfasts, solid pizza. Wabora — Japanese and Korean fusion, excellent sushi. Pizzaville delivers to the cabin for those nights you just want to stay put.

We stayed 6 nights with 3 kids ages, ranging from 4 to 19 and had a fabulous time. The place is clean, massive with a fully stacked kitchen, towels and beautifully set up bedrooms. It has 2 washrooms and the check in and out time was another rare feature of this location. The location is very quiet, across from the river. The boys were able to bike as traffic is very low in the area, almost none. The deck is great. It gets lots of sun - the only missing item was a patio umbrella. Lots of games to play and a smart TV. The location is a short drive to town where you can shop for anything you need. Alex was amazing with communication and any help we needed. I would come back here, for sure.

We took a bit of a gamble as this was a new listing but we were so happy we did! It was a last minute surprise for the kids who range in age from 7-12. They loved their rooms and there were games for a rainy day or evenings. The kitchen is massive so that worked perfectly with this many kids! It looks as though they have just put the deck on and it provided a perfect spot to watch the kids from. The water was clean and easy to enter from the shoreline. There was a road to cross to get to the river so the deck became our look out. (road was super quiet). Really appreciated having laundry facilities!! It was a short 10 minute drive into town and there's lots to do in Bracebridge and everything we needed was right there. This location seemed central to so much but the kids truthfully wanted to hang out in the water and use the kayaks when possible. Cottage was lovely. Clean, well laid out and a perfect getaway for families. Would book this again.
