Great Gaffney Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I spent a very enjoyable February at this rental. It is well situated between Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing so both squares can be accessed easily by golf cart. Stores and restaurants are close by as well and the house is clean, comfortable, and cozy. It was a great place to stay!

We rented this property for two people for a five-week stay. The home is in clear need of maintenance and updates. Had this been our first experience with VRBO, it likely would have discouraged us from using VRBO again. Given the price, we expected accommodations comparable to—or better than—our previous rentals in the Villages.Other amenity issues included:•Garage was blocked by owners golf cart, had to contract mgr to move.•Hundreds of live sugar ants on the kitchen counters, mgr provided ant traps to remedy the situation.•Golf cart battery was so corroded, cart stopped working ½ mile from condo and had to be pushed to get it off the road.•Gas Grill ignition was broken, no note saying you needed to use a lighter.•The dryer was highly inefficient, often requiring up to four cycles to dry clothing, though it was eventually replaced after contacting the mgr.•Living room furniture was outdated and uncomfortable. The property manager, Down Home Properties, was responsive to the multiple calls we made to report issues. However, their efforts appeared limited to addressing problems as they arose, rather than ensuring the property met its listing description or provided a welcoming, well-prepared environment (such as the welcome touches commonly found). Additionally, the security deposit was expected to be returned within two weeks; however, we did not receive it until after following up with the property manager, at which point a check was finally issued late.

Needs some tlc

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: No ice maker, clothes dryer took forever to dry clothes, furniture about worn out and dirty, carpet needs to be replaced, fan in second bedroom was broken. Looks like a good deal on the internet but close to renting a dump. Maid service was great and so was the property manager.

Great location in Tall Trees

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was very good near shopping and town squares only a short golf cart ride away. Lisa of Down home was very attentive to our needs. We had a bit of tussle with tiny ants but a few ant traps took care of the situation.

Don't rent this home!!!

Problems from day one! VRBO pictures did not show carpeting was filthy, worn, and rippled in 2 bedrooms. Master bedroom and walk in closet were the worst! Had ants around kitchen sink, in the dishwasher, and in master bath around sink! Master toilet never worked right, 2nd bath toilet leaked! After much back and forth with management company professionals came in and fixed ant and toilet issues! Refrigerator had no ice maker. Bought trays and made my own! On the bright side location was excellent and golf cart was nice! Will be renting next year for 3 months same location but different home!!!

Comfortable

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was here for family reasons. Booking the home through down-home was very easy and they were very helpful when I called. The house was reasonably clean considering the Exorbitant fee, (the counters were not ) used a wet wipe and there was a film on the backside of the sink, as well as in the bathroom the sink around the Faucet needs scrubbing. The cleaning fee is excessive!!Overall I was very comfortable, we did not use any of the extra amenities.Thank you to the owner for allowing us to stay in their nice house.
