Home overlooking Gregory Town's famous Cove. Beach chairs and SUP included
Cove House, located on the picturesque Pittman's Cove of Gregory Town is a completely renovated 70 year old colonial Bahamian home with great stone pillars sparkling white against the back drop of Sea and Sun. It's location on the leeward "sea side" of the Island makes for less wind and warmer living.
There are 2 vacation properties within Cove House. The listing you are viewing right now is the ground floor property known as The Compass Cottage. The property on the second floor (also 3 bedroom) is our Captain's Quarters and that one is listed in VRBO has # 254634. Please have a look there as well.
The Compass Cottage is a large three bedroom property complimented by a private ocean front patio complete with comfortable outdoor furniture, rockers, and a couch. The Compass Cottage overlooks Gregory Town's famous Cove and is literally the best view in Gregory Town!
The Compass Cottage at Cove House features a unique Island decor for clean and comfortable Island living. The spacious master bedroom features a king size bed, the second bedroom which is Ocean front comes with a full size bed, and third bedroom comes equipped with a set of twin bunk beds beds. The living room features a futon as well as a wet bar with microwave oven and small fridge.
The kitchen is a "foody's" kitchen and over-complete for vacation purposes but you will be able to find anything needed to prepare delicious meals. This home also features a large outdoor shower for rinsing off when you return from a swim.
Cove House is located close to everything the Island offers. Long lovely secluded beaches for shelling or just relaxing, unique Island made shopping, grocery stores, surfing beaches, and you can take advantage of the native's harvest from the sea by purchasing their catch right on the wharf. Lobster dinner anyone?
Traveling with a large family group? Combine both properties at Cove House for an awesome family vacation. The entire Cove House can sleep up to 14 people with 2.5 kitchens, and 3.5 baths. (please send a VRBO inquiry for further description of the two accommodation choices)

My wife, Donna and I along with our two adult children spend as much time in Gregory Town as possible. We enjoy surfing, diving and fishing. Every day is an adventure. But most of all we love the healthy laid back Island life. The Bahamian people make each trip special. They are truly some of the most friendly people in the world. Cove House has been my family's beloved second home ever since my Father purchased this home in 1973. Originally a tomato cannery, then one of the Islands only dry goods store, then destroyed by Hurricane Betsy in the 1960's. My Father and Mother found this gem on their second vacation to Eleuthera. They always joked about finding a fixer upper. But when they took one look at this classic example of turn of the century Bahamian architecture laying in ruin beside this picturesque cove, it's quiet waters shimmering, they knew this was the place they had always been looking for. Thus began my family's Island Home renovation project that has lasted more than three decades.
Recently (in 2015) we began our third remodel of our home since our original purchase. This was our largest undertaking ever. We replaced all plumbing and all three bathrooms. Installed a completely new electrical service to the entire home. Added a designer kitchen and a wet bar. Installed a new ocean front deck and pergola. We reestablished a secondary fresh water source with our cistern and easy to use switch-over filtered pump. And shipped in many new furnishings and new beds I'm happy to announce this huge project was completed in Dec. 2019 and is now ready for YOUR Family's use!
