True and total oceanfront condo with wide wrap-around lanai (balcony) giving you almost four lanai rooms. The lanai hangs over the ocean. See the tide pools and the lagoon where the turtles love to swim. Let the sounds of the sea make you sleep after a day of sightseeing or relaxation. Both the bedroom and living room face the sea, where you can see dolphins all year round and whales throughout the season.

Central A/C

King-size bed in the bedroom.
Updated kitchen and new bathroom with walk-in tub.
Island influenced decorations and attention to detail.
The chair and the dining room table are on the lanai.

Hale Kona Kai is an intimate, absolute oceanfront building of 39 one-bedroom condos. Located on the outskirts of Kona City, it is off the main road providing calm, ocean view relaxation from every device. Located just south of Royal Kona Resort, excellent dining at Huggo's or Don Beachcomber's is a two-minute walk away and other restaurants are just a fun stroll away. The white sand of Honl's Beach is less than a quarter-mile south and the Kona Farmer's Market is half a mile north.

The complex offers an elevator that provides convenient access for all. On the ocean side, you'll find a heated saltwater swimming pool and a grill on the south end of the complex. There are laundry machines available on each level.

Each unit includes designated parking, safe WIFI, & cable TV. All units, like Lanais, are non-smoking and Hale Kona Kai is non-smoking.

Amazing Vacation
We loved our stay here❤️ Loved waking up and having breakfast out on the Lanai. The view is incredible !! The Kona coast did not disappoint . We saw sea turtles, tropical fish and in the evening beautiful sunsets. The rental had beach chairs we could use so that was helpful as well. The place is older but really after we ate breakfast we were out and about all day and it had a great AC that kept the place nice and cool. We will be coming back and staying here when we do🌺

A Great View With A Few Problems !!!
The view is amazing !!! There were a few problems however: 1.) About (1) month before we arrived we were notified that the Central A/C was not working. We were given the option to have (2) Room A/C Units installed in the unit, in the Living Room and the Bedroom. To be very honest in this review, the owners did give us a ($ 224.85), which was a 15 % discount for the A/C not working, only after I pushed back on the 10% that they offered when I said that we didn't book a unit with no Central A/C.. The portable units were installed when we arrived, they did cool the unit, however they are so loud, you can't hear the ocean right outside of the unit. We go to Hawaii every year to hear the ocean, not any kind of loud sounds !!! Also, the Living Room unit is installed in such a way that the sliding door CANNOT be locked. This made us super nervous, as we're not in the habit of leaving our hotel room door, unlocked when we leave for the day !!! The discount was not enough for no Central A/C ! 2.) The entire unit needs to be updated very badly. There is rust everywhere in the unit. 3.) The shower head is OK if you're 5' tall or shorter. 4.) The rugs in the bathroom are dangerous, and are anything but Non-Slip rugs. They need to be replaced. 5.) The (2) TV's are vastly undersized for this day and age. 6.) The TV in the bedroom is almost impossible to turn on with the (2) remotes. 7.) The couch in the LR is old and needs to be replaced

What a view
Locationa is fabulous. Decor is dated. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen had all we needed. Property is dated. Needs paint. Air conditioner worked great. Security was fair. Car was rifeled one night. We will return but its not five star. Still perfect for us. Price abt 15% high based on whats available BUT its only place like it. YMMV!

We were not able to get the ceiling fan on in the middle of the room it looks like an older model not a crisis but would have been nice. And I want to come back
