Your perfect escape awaits at The Salty Mermaid! Ideally located mid-island, just a block from the beach, this charming retreat offers breathtaking canal views. Our community has a deeded beach access for easy beach entry. Relax in the hot tub on the back patio or explore nearby bars/restaurants featuring live music. We provide everything you need for a saree-free stay as well as some awesome extras available for rent!

Our home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (the den acts as a 3rd bedroom, making it easy to sleep 8 guests). Plenty of parking available!

Cute little home just a short walk from Ft Myers Beach access and across from canal and quiet residential neighborhood. Well stocked kitchen - had everything we needed for our short stay!Could use a little more TLC in the backyard space to make it more inviting. Watch-out that bathrooms are super tiny. Overall great location for time at the beach!

We booked this house for our yearly girls trip! House was very clean and so nice! Booking and checking in online was easy and when I reached out to the owner she was quick to respond! Definitely recommend this place!

Adorable Place!

We loved our stay at this cozy beach house. It was super clean and decorated so cute. It was a short walk to the beach, which allowed us to get our steps in! The kids loved the hot tub and collected some beautiful shells. They were already asking when we would be back before we even left. Next time we will bring a wagon for our beach stuff. Thanks for a fantastic friends weekend!

Everything about this house and location was perfect. Easy walk to the beach. House was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner was excellent to work and communicate with. I highly recommend staying here!

Perfect stay, great proximity to beach

Myself, my daughter and 1 of her friends traveled with us
.we loved the house and its proximity to the beach. It’s about a block away and was close enough to come back to have lunch and then go back. We had plenty of room for the 3 of us and would have had plenty of room for more. Would definitely book again.

Perfect size vacation stay

A few steps from the beach, spacious living room, nice secluded patio. Everything we needed to start our comfortable stay is here, and the grocery store is only a mile away. My entire family was very happy we chose this for our home away from home.

House near beach

Excellent house for those that would like to walk the beach
.Literally about a block away. This is a quiet little neighborhood. There are small houses, nestled amongst mansions on this island. As you drive around, you will see still the Ramas of the storm Ian. This three bedroom house is clean and has all the amenities you need.

quick weekend getaway

House was perfect. Very clean. Beautifully decorated and stocked with everything we needed.Great location. We walked the beach every morning and evening. Lots of shells and beautiful sunsets. Still a lot of rebuilding going on but nothing that would hinder any plans. Some restaurants are open near where the pier was. I would not hesitate to return.

I had messaged to ask if I could have more than one 'well behaved dog' and they said yes. It was a very nice stay. Clean, convenient and basically anything you could want. Ft. Myers has a ways to go to recover to pre-Ian condition but you have the beach to yourself and you can find places to eat with no difficulty. Quiet getaway.

Beach House Weekend Gateway

Lovely property with easy walking distance access to beach front. Unexpected surrounding community very much still struggling to rebuild after the last Hurricane hit to the area. There are no walk-in distance restaurants or a true commercial downtown to visit. Quite desolate. But if you’re in for quite time at a beach for “yourself “ without the crowd madnesses

Very cute little cottage

Definitely a Florida style vacation home. Plenty of room for family. Large dining room table big enough for the whole family. Lots of space. Cute rooms and decor. I preferred entering through the side door closest to the laundry room to leave dirty shoes and towels as to not track sand into the kitchen and to leave other things in the way of the kitchen. Comfortable stay fir me and my pet.

If Sarah’s place is available, make sure to book it right away! Cute little house with all the necessities and great access to the beach. Perfect little getaway for family and friends. Sarah is extremely responsive and helpful. We’re already planning our next trip to stay here!

Ideal family getaway

After 2 years of pandemic isolation, our family decided to take a quick getaway to Fort Myers following a work conference. We could not have picked a better VRBO rental. The house was exactly as listed and it’s proximity to the beach was perfect. The house has everything a family needs while away from home. The neighborhood is quiet and restaurants are within walking distance. Sarah was very responsive and clear on all communication. If you’re looking for the ideal getaway spot in FMB, this is the place!

Enjoyable Stay

We stayed at this property for 4 weeks. Location was awesome. Easy access to the beach. Very Clean. Very well supplied including bikes, beach cart, beach towels, etc. There was an outdoor shower that was very enjoyable. Only complaint was that both bedroom closets were locked with owner’s items. There was only a rack in the laundry room to hang our items. Should at least allow one closet especially with the length of our stay. Overall, great experience. Highly recommend!

We LOVE the mid-island location of this home. It is close enough to walk or bike to the beach and bars/restaurants. The view is spectacular and if you are looking for a little peace and quiet, the patio is perfect!
