Ce magnifique chalet, construit en 2005, a toutes les commodités pour rendre votre séjour à Southwest Harbor un délice, en commençant par son emplacement idéal sur Somes Sound. Il est un endroit idéal pour se détendre tout en profitant de la beauté et les activités de l'Acadia National Park et le charmant Mt. villages Desert Island. Offrez-vous un homard du Maine oh-so-frais, regarder les voiliers à la dérive par, faire un tour dans l'un des kayaks qui vient avec la maison et profiter des autres activités, sites et expériences qui Mt. Desert offre.

La grande terrasse est un endroit parfait pour grill (Weber) ou de regarder l'activité occupée sur l'océan .. Descendez du pont à la rive sur un chemin d'aiguilles de pin doux. Profitez magnifique aménagement paysager professionnel de la maison. Marchez vers le charmant village de Southwest Harbor ou le bus gratuit Island Explorer qui vous et vos vélos tout au long de Mt. porter Désert.

La maison dispose de trois chambres, une avec un lit queen, une avec un lit double et une avec deux ensembles de lits superposĂ©s. il y a deux salles de bains modernes, chacune avec deux lavabos en marbre, une avec laveuse sĂ©cheuse. Le vaste plan espace ouvert sĂ©jour / cuisine a une vue magnifique, puits de lumiĂšre, mobilier conçu dĂ©corateur, des appareils haut de cuisine en ligne et des comptoirs en granit. Salon est ouvert et aĂ©rĂ© avec plafond cathĂ©drale et d'Ă©normes portes en verre et les fenĂȘtres qui ouvrent sur le pont et Somes Sound.

Location is everything. We loved that it was just a hop, skip and jump to the beach. Nights were beautiful with a full moon. Everything was close by. No more than a 1/2 hour to anything we wanted to do. Quiet neighborhood with a Lobster Resturant within walking distance. Five stars for us.

What a gorgeous place, and it’s located in an equally gorgeous location. We can’t imagine a better base for a trip to Acadia NP; you’re right in the middle of the action, but without the madness of Bar Harbor. The “Bunkhouse” is absolutely beautiful, fully equipped, filled with sunlight and totally private. It’s a gem.

Our family had a wonderful week at this beautiful retreat! Tucked away off a quiet street, surrounded by trees and ferns, and with a view of Somes Sound from the main living space and large deck, we could not have found a more perfect place as our home base in exploring Acadia.Our four year old granddaughters loved looking for shells on the beach. Their parents and grandparents enjoyed watching the sun rise over the water.....what a gorgeous view from the beach area! The cottage is great, wood everywhere, efficiently designed with all the modern amenities, well stocked, and very clean. The restaurants and shops of Southwest Harbor are only a short walk or drive away. We had some great dinners at Cafe Too, enjoyed shopping at the Acadia Quietside store, and sampled many treats at Little Notch. Anne, our host, could not have been more helpful! Anne supplied us with extensive lists of suggestions for hikes, restaurants, and basically, all things Acadia. Her tips and suggestions were invaluable, especially for our hikes. She kindly left a child carrier for our use while hiking. Thank you Anne! We hope to come back to your family's lovely "Bunkhouse" in the future so we can further explore the breathtaking Acadia.Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Elizabeth B.

Lovely 3 BR 2 bath home on Somes Sound in SW Harbor on the quiet side of Mt Desert Island. It was very private with landscaped gardens that led down to a small beach This home was well equipped and with comfortable beds and a deck off the living room to enjoy morning coffee and listen to the birds. It was a perfect place to stay with friends - everything on one floor. The host was very helpful with recommended hikes and restaurants and grocery shopping. I’d definitely stay here again and not far from all the activity of the Loop and Bar Harbor.It is little slice of heaven.

Holiday Weekend in Southwest Harbor

My parents and I had a lovely long weekend at the Bunkhouse in Southwest Harbor. We arrived after dark, so it was a nice surprise to wake up to a sunrise view of the Sound. The park was particularly busy this time of year, so we enjoyed having a quiet place to escape the crowds after a day out. The house was well-appointed and as described, and would easily sleep eight, although we enjoyed it with three.

Kids timed the shore, dad read on the deck, gramma imagined the rhododendrons in bloom - excellent all the way around. Maine does not disappoint nor does this retreat !

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location

The house is spacious, very comfortable and nicely decorated. We loved being able to walk down to the lovely little beach with morning coffee, a good book or evening drinks. Wonderful stay for families

This was a perfect place to stay with a family! The beach just a minute walk down the hill in front of the house provided lots of hours of entertainment and downtown SW Harbor is just a 15 minute walk. House had everything we needed to cook meals. Anne was very kind and suggested a babysitter locally so that we could go to the Claremont Hotel for dinner a couple of nights during the week. Babysitter was wonderful and highly recommend the Claremont (.2 miles away). Thank you Anne!

Spacious Waterfront Retreat

We stayed 2 weeks and it really was a great spot if you do not want to be in the hustle and bustle. We loved being able to walk right down to the beach which had the most amazing views. The cabin is spacious and has everything you need for your stay. The only downfall for us was we did find ourselves driving into bar harbor to keep our 4 year old twins occupied as they have more activities for younger kids.

Great Autumn Getaway on the Quiet Side

This was our second stay at this wonderful property. Comfortable, very well appointed and equipped, gorgeous setting and view in a wooded lot on Somes Sound. Easy walk to SW Harbor and its stores, restaurants, etc. Modern kitchen in a spacious and comfortable great room. The host lives nearby and is friendly and accommodating. The house feels a bit like a camp because of all the wood (which is of superb quality!) and the use of appointments from days gone by, but is in fact spacious and modern with all the conveniences. We thoroughly enjoyed this place and plan to return.

We had an amazing stay at this property! The house is lovely-well laid out with a great common area and 3 very nice bedrooms. Stunning 😍 oceanfront cottage

Quiet SW Harbor cottage town. Perfect for a getaway for families wanting to enjoy the deck and rocky beachfront. Lots to do in Acadia National Park only 25-30 minutes away. Would definitely come back for some much needed rest and relaxation.

Perfect and Peaceful

We had such a great time here in this well equipped waterfront property. Great communication to know what we had available to us and plan accordingly for our needs. Big lobster pot in the house and live lobsters available right around the corner from the fisherman. Quiet surroundings right behind the coast guard station and a stroll down to the beach to watch the boats coming through. Beds were comfortable, water pressure great, nice weber grill, and comfortable patio furniture. We will be back. We wanted to be away from the crowds, while close to the park and the trails. This was dynamite! Also recommend the Blueberry pie from the Little Notch! Sail Acadia for the Friendship sloop sail at sunset was also a great add for us. Enjoy

Beautiful property, great location

We have visited SW Harbor regularly for many decades but this was our first rental. The house and the grounds were great, well designed and maintained, beautiful and comfortable at the same time. Amenities were above and beyond, with little details that indicate the property has been lived in. The location is amazing, completely secluded while within an easy walk of "downtown" SW Harbor. Water view is framed by trees but the shoreline is completely accessible by a short walk through the back yard. Perfect. We'll be back soon.

A Peaceful Oasis

Nice House / Familiar Area

We've been coming to SW Harbor during the summer for decades, staying usually in this general part of town. The house was well equipped, clean, comfortable, and quiet (away from Bar Harbor crowds) -- a good fit for 3 adult family members. Convenient for walks to town and for car trips to Acadia and other destinations on Mt. Desert Island.

Beautiful home on the quiet side

Our family had a wonderful stay in this great cottage on Mount Desert Island. The home is in a great location - water views from the back, walkable to Southwest Harbor village, and an easy drive to so many great hikes on the quiet side of the island. The rocky coastline accessible from the home was perfect for the kids to hunt for crabs and other sea creatures. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here the next time we return to Acadia!

Summer in Maine! Whatever you have heard is true. We discoverd Mt. Desert Island, Acadia National Park and Southwest Harbor in the 1970's and every summer has been wonderful. So many things to do. Never enough time, so we have to return year after year.

The house is steps from Somes Sound with beach to play, wade and enjoy lots of activity. There are lobster boats working daily. In summer, sailboat races go by most afternoons.
