You won't want to miss out on this amazing home! This unique property is located on the St. Joseph River in Buchanan Michigan. You can only access this home by boat because, you guessed it, it's on an island! We are located in the charming small town of Buchanan Michigan which was named "Nicest town in America" by Readers digest in 2020. located just 2 miles from Redbud National Motocross track, Orchard Hills Country Club, Brookwood Golf Course, delicious dining, unique breweries/wineries and beautiful farmers markets. Our freshly renovated home is located just 35 minutes from the beautiful beaches of St. Joseph and New Buffalo, Mighican! Our bright, open home is unique and comfy. You will love staying with us! Our home is equipped with pots/pans/utenensils...all the convienences of home! There is a gas grill on our deck. This home comfortably sleeps 10. This home provides secure and keyless entry. So no worries about losing your keys! A pontoon boat is included with this rental so you and your guests will be able to explore 8 miles of the beautiful St Joseph River on a leisurely cruise, or tie on the two person tube to the back and have some fun! like to fish? The river is loaded with numerous species for the experienced angler or anyone that just wants to enjoy the scenery and throw a line out! Species include: large and smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Bluegill, Crappie, Salmon, and Steelhead Trout. a 16 foot johnboat is also available upon request as well as a 3 person jet ski! With a large backyard and spacious dock, you and your family will thoroughly enjoy your vacation! In order to rent from us, you must be at least 25 years or older. We unfortunately do not accept pets at this time. Do understand that it is located on an island, so you will have to park in our designated parking lot and pack up the boat to travel to the island, which is just a short 1/4 mile ride around to the back side of the island. You're met at the dock upon arrival to clarify and fully take advantage of all the island life has to offer. This home is very open with 2 bedrooms and do notice the bedrooms have no doors. The breathtaking view of the island from this home is amazing. Enjoying a nice cup of coffee in our reading spot, looking over the beautiful river is a morning must!The river in front of this home is very low traffic and calm. You will not want to miss out on this unique experience!

Great extended weekend visit

We enjoyed the house on the river. The pontoon was great for everyone to see the river and fish. Owner was great to work with. We would definitely visit again.

Another great stay at this property!! We had a beautiful time on the island. The locals are always welcoming and kind. The owners are communicative and friendly, they genuinely care for their visitors! If you’re looking for a fun relaxing weekend with a nice pontoon boat, bonfires, BBQs and small town charm, then this property is for you! great place for kids or just adults that are looking for peace and quiet. Island Weekend

We had a great time fishing, boating, swimming and exploring the river. The house and nearby are are beautiful. The hosts are super easy to communicate with and more than helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Fun Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique island home. Eddie and Gabrielle were wonderful hosts and we appreciate their attention to detail. The pontoon boat was a big hit with our entire family. Our stay was quiet and relaxing, and we would book with them again. Highly recommend.

Perfect friends weekend. The place was well stocked with everything we needed. Clean and comfortable throughout. Eddie was an incredibly helpful host. He showed us the ins and outs of the cabin as well as how to navigate the river and the pontoon. We caught plenty of small mouth and a couple walleye - in the middle of the day as well as at night. Buchanon's a great town - with groceries, Lowery's meat & fish market and nice restaurants (River Saint Joe had great food and tasty in-house brewery beers) all close by, but not too close. All in all a great, relaxing trip and stay.

Awesome place

Was met at the dock by the owner of property showed how to get to property and showed around very friendly and helpful. When ever we had a question they answered it within a hour by text always willing to help. Caught a walleye off the dock. Town was cool ate at river saint joe was amazing could not ask for more when leaving everyone was ready to start preparing to book another trip next year.

Fun spot for a good weekend

Had a nice stay at this place. The owner was great and met us to show us how to use the boat and get around the river. Boat worked great all weekend, getting gas at the station in town was also easy. Nice spot with some nature trails and deer on the island. Screened in porches were great and the firepit by the water was awesome. We did had to get propane and trash bags to use, and finding an old grease pan in the oven the was kinda gross. We also had issues with ants on the counter.tops and getting into our food. Trash was also a bit unexpected when we found out we had to go find a dumpster in town to use. But the owner was helpful in telling us where to find one. A few minor things, but overall we had a great weekend.

Great long weekend getaway

Southwest Michigan has lots of great spots and we wanted a quaint spot close to them. We found this place on VRBO and its location on the river was the selling point. We were close enough to explore the area, after having the morning coffees on the dock enjoying the river roll by. After going out, we were able to come back and take advantage of the boat for the afternoon and cruise/float the river followed by a few evening drinks on the dock. Taking the boat to and from the island was certainly manageable, though it took a little planning. The hosts were helpful and informative, getting us checked in and set up. Overall the house was good, especially being right in the river. We’d recommend it.

Love this place!!

Another wonderful time spent at the lake house. First time with friends- I loved it so much I couldn’t wait to bring my family here!! My family was in awe over this place. (As expected) The set up of the house is the coolest! The aesthetic is everything. Such a great place to have tons of fun & live up every minute of vacay life. Boat cruise, swimming, grilling, games, soaking up the sun, watching scary movies all night & then watching the sun rise by morning. I am so grateful for the memories created here this year & thankful for such awesome hosts!! Can’t wait to come back next year!

The island

This place was absolutely a fantastic experience. The owner's were super friendly and helpful. We had a great time on the river fishing, beaching, and don't forget the rope swing. Also found time to relax. You can't beat the view first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee.

Bachelor Party on Bachelor Island

Had a bachelor party of 10 guys stay on the island for a fantastic weekend of golf, fishing, and just watching the river flow. The hosts were great, and made everything easy. Strongly recommend!

AN AMAZING DEAL ON A UNIQUE ISLAND GETAWAY

The property is absolutely beautiful!!! 100/10 recommend if you’re looking for an awesome time on a budget! We received nothing but professional hospitality and the owner was nothing but kind and made sure we enjoyed our stay! The pontoon boat was included with our stay and the river has a breathtaking view! I couldn’t recommend this place enough, we’ll definitely be back every year!
