Sugar Dunes in Cottages at Romar is your home away from home in Orange Beach, AL! Located in a charming gated community right on the Gulf, this quaint coastal cottage leaves nothing to be desired. Detailed with stunning decor and comfortable amenities our cottage is perfect for a family vacation or a couples beach getaway.

This 2 story home features 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a loft with bunks, and a sleeper sofa that will accommodate 8 people. The open concept kitchen is fully equipped, with upgraded appliances, and bar seating for four. The dining table seats 6 and the living room seats 7 comfortably. The main floor and upper level feature a walkout deck with patio furniture. The cottage also features an outdoor shower.

Located steps from the beautiful zero entry saltwater lagoon pool and boardwalk to Alabama's sugar sand beach. You can also enjoy a fire pit on those chilly nights.

Great Place to Stay

Our 2nd year to stay at Sugar Dunes. We love it! We may try for a 3-peat next summer. Easy check in and check out process, beach area not over crowded and location is great.

We checked out today from a 6 night stay over spring break and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Family of 4-2 teenagers, had plenty of space for the week. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck relaxing. We cooked multiple meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The location of the house is exactly as described online. It sits in a small gated community with a beautiful pool in the center. The pool sits behind the house across the street. The beach entrance is not even a block away. The beach is pristine, fine white sand. We walked a 10th of a mile to rent bikes and biked the 1/2 mile to the Gulf State Park. Beautiful trails and scenery throughout. We followed the bike paths to the Gulf Shores Fishing Pier- again beautiful! There is a side gate for walkers to get in and out, which was convenient as were weren’t always triggering the gate to get back in. We walked multiple times to the stores and restaurants along Perdido Drive-walking 1-2.5 miles each way. Some days we cut back along the ocean and walked along the water. The weather and scenery were beautiful. Our teens are already asking when we can go back. I replied only if we can get the same house again! The owner was attentive with communication. I wish beach towels, boogie boards, and pool noodles were provided- we packed our own but it would have been one less thing to pack. I have seen this and board games provided at other VRBO we have stayed at.

We all absolutely enjoyed staying at Sugar Dunes. We loved everything about it- easy check in, cleanliness, location, easy access to beach and easy to deal with hosts. We’re looking forward to trying to book Sugar Dunes next summer.

The cottage was clean, cute, comfortable, had great air conditioning, terrific location, and the owners were wonderful. It was a perfect place for our family of 5 adults to stay. We will stay there again!

The house was clean, and there were a good amount of bedding and towels for us to use. Having some beach towels in addition to the bath towels would have been nice as well. Some areas seemed in need of attention – a lamp missing a prong which was plugged in and possibly a fire hazard, and the showerhead in the master bathroom needs replacing. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Incredible location!

We loved staying here & have already booked for next year. Perfect location - easy pool & beach access. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood in the evening - felt safe with the gate and how well lit it was. Cindy was great!

Great Place!

We have stayed at the Cottages at Romar, but this is our first time staying at this cottage. It was exactly like pictures and great layout. Location is great! Kitchen is not fully stocked with cooking supplies- so prepare for that (no baking sheets, one skillet, and limited utensils). We would definitely stay again!
