The location was amazing and the home was beautiful! The upstairs had an industrial smell- maybe from air conditioning? But it was still amazing! We hosted our wedding here and also rented the sun monkey, owned and operated by the same owners/ management. We felt like there were several add on fees that were not listed or included on the vrbo listing, like guest numbers, cleaning, and airport transportation. Other than these, we had an incredible time with the property itself and loved the playa hermosa area!

Solid Choice for a family

Really enjoyed our stay at Villa Daiquiri. Had a group from 6 to 60, 9 of us in all. Location of the house is perfect, and the beach is really nice, keep in mind this is the Pacific side, so black volcanic sand. House has plenty of beach towels and some chairs. House is secured with fence all the way around with walk out gate to the beach and electric car gate for entry.As for the house - 3 BR up with the master (vibes of the 80's), bunk room and a small room (queen / sofa) off the common area with louvered door (not that private). Nice common area and open balcony off common looking at the ocean. This area is controlled with a single central AC. Downstairs are 3 BR all with individual AC units and a large common / dining area with AC unit. Kitchen is big with commercial gas stove and a couple of fridges (probably used to be a commercial fridge here.House was clean, but some things are a bit dated, but overall nice given the history of the property.Property manager was available by WhatsApp if needed and cleaning showed up a couple of days (we did not need, but available if you wanted).Local is great for walking to restaurants just down the beach (3). As other have indicated, mango trees in the yard will yield all you can eat (just don't park under them).Management company was good to work with and provided some insight on cook and catamaran rental.A great week for our family.

A legend beach front getaway

It’s an amazing property with a perfect location.The home is large and comfortable and was well suited for our 2 large families with children. They are certainly professionals and made our stay exceptional.

We had a great stay. Property and beach were wonderful. We were doing a lot of our own cooking and could have used a bit more cleaning supplies, trash bags, paper towels, dishwasher soap. There were 12 of us including 6 teens who go through a lot of food. Bret and the management, cleaning team were great. Very helpful when we had questions.

Family Fun

Our family of 10, from 3 to 70 years old, had a wonderful time at Villa Daiquiri. The house was perfect for our group and being right on such a lovely beach made it even better. We all enjoyed the nice, clean pool and the beautiful ocean water. Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, also. And we all loved the ripe delicious mangos from the nearby trees!

Hidden Gem in Costa Rica

Had 9 family members and the property was perfect! Super clean, great pool, steps from ocean, restaurants and near grocery market. Staff was helpful every step of the way. Very responsive to every need. Fresh mango trees for breakfast and lovely breeze on large balcony overlooking the surf. Will repeat for sure.

Spring Break

Great house for a family Downstairs sleeps cooler than upstairs.Next door to Roberto’s restaurant where some of the nicest waitstaff in the world work. We booked catamaran, snorkeling, a private chef, transportation and fishing through Brian Gonzales with tropical explorers (dude is amazing)Never met the owners of the house but the care taker, Andrey is an awesome person. Grethel took care of our needs upon check in as well. We will go back and stay here if it’s available.

Pura Vida!

We are group of 4 retired couples from Canada who recently spent two weeks at Villa Daiquiri.We were looking for a spacious property that was spacious, had a large pool and was close the the beach and restaurants. Villa Daiquiri delivers on all counts. The rooms are clean, the beds very comfortable, well working air conditioning throughout the house, and the icing on the cake is the commercial ice making machine in the kitchen that helped us keep our drinks cold throughout the hot days and helped fuel our thirst for homemade margaritas.Our host, Bret was pleasant to deal with and was accessible at all times. He organized transportation from and to the airport and three excursions (2 hikes and a catamaran dinner cruise) with transportation from and to the villa. This saved us from having to travel to pick up different pick up spots that are specified on most travel tour site such as Viator. He also referred us to Maria who owns a home chef service called Luxua. We arranged 3 dinners (Costa Rican, Spanish & Italian). Our wonderful chef Diago prepared, served and cleaned up after each dinner.Grethal was our site contact and she met us on the first and last days of our stays which was a very nice touch. She was pleasant to deal with and promptly replied to our inquiries.Villa Daiquiri and staff provided us with a memorable experience, and I highly recommend them.

Best Place on Best Beach

Can’t say enough about this property and location. This is living the life and one of the greatest places I have ever stayed in. Sure the house could use some updating and it is clearly a busy rental property but we had multiple couples with privacy, fabulous pool, and you walk right out onto one of the greatest beaches ever - not crowded, but has restaurants and jet skis and massages etc right there - we will be coming back

Great for a large group

We stayed for 4 days with a group of 13. It worked out really great. There is plenty of space, bathrooms, activities and the kitchen was great for food/drinks. Plus the washer/dryer and towels/linens provided was an added bonus. Any time I had a question the manager off property and on were extremely attentive and helpful.The area is extremely accessible for anything you may want or need. You will not be disappointed by choosing to stay.

Villa Daiquiri.. chillaxing

Our stay at Villa Daiquiri was overall great, with just a few minor issues. The internet connectivity was a significant problem, as some of us needed to stay in communications about our executive positions with our employers in the States. Regarding housekeeping, we were informed that service would be provided on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Unfortunately, housekeeping did not arrive until Wednesday and only returned again on Friday. While this wasn't a major issue, we did need the trash to be emptied by Wednesday; we opted not to leave it outside by the grill due to concerns about animals getting into it.As a suggestion, it might be a nice addition to include the golf cart as part of the rental, just to get to the near by grocery/convenient store.Despite these inconveniences, we had a wonderful time. Being right on the beach was incredibly relaxing, and the soothing sound of the waves enhanced our experience. Overall, it was a great getaway!

Christmas Family reunion

This house was perfect for the 10 of us. We stayed here with our two sons and daughters in law and our 4 grandchildren. The 6 br’s were good size and the bathrooms very convenient. The kitchen and eating areas are perfect for large groups. The house is well equipped, plenty of beach towels, beach chairs. The pool is really nice and we enjoyed using it when we weren’t at the beach. There is a housekeeper and groundskeeper to assist needed.

Perfect Family Vacation!!

We have 3 adult kids with significant other and we were wanting a house on the beach with bedroom for all the couples and this was the absolute perfect house for that with 4 separate bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. It was gated with plenty of privacy right on the beach! We were greeted by Manrique who was such a nice and helpful host. Playa Hermosa is my favorite place in Costa Rica as we have stayed a few other places and nothing compares to the quiet tranquil beach. There is a great restaurant next door along with others down the beach. We also hired a private chef one night to make us dinner, which was very good! I would highly recommend this house for a big family and I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Wonderful home for a family reunion

It has been a while since we had our family get together, 6 adults and 3 children (5, 8, and 10). Bret helped us plan everything and was so patient in answering all my questions two months before our trip! Villa Daiquiri is a beautiful place located in an ideal location. Even had iguanas wander around the villa. The beach is right outside the villa and everyone loved the beach and the pool! The sunset view from the second floor is one for the memory book. And there are all kinds of restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite was Casita del Mariscos. Others in our group went to several places close by for coffee and breakfast which were all good! Andrey, who lives in the grounds, was very helpful with getting us what we needed—taxis, restaurant reservations
. Luisa, the housekeeper, cooked us a very delicious traditional Costa Rican breakfast the morning before our flight. Don’t believe the weather forecast. We didn’t even need all the ponchos we brought. Every moment together was beautiful!

5 Family trip to Costa Rica and this place was AWESOME!! Right on the beach and within walking distance to all kinds of bars and restaurants. The kids had a blast on the beach and in the perfect pool on the property. Marique was great and helped us so many times. We also had breakfast made every morning which was so good! The owners and staff are super accommodating. We just had the best time. Also, check out Pescado Loco if you stay here. Amazing food and atmosphere.

Nothing but smiles

Our group of 6 couples stayed here. The house accommodated all of us with plenty of shared space. We loved the location and simplicity of the area. Beach and sunsets were picture perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic house on the beach

We took 8 adults and 7 children ages 0 to 9 years old. Bret met our daughter at the house when her family arrived and explained about the house and gave her suggestions on what to do in the area. The kids loved the pool, monkeys, iguanas, rabbit and the ocean. The house is right on the beach. Monkeys are in the trees around the house. Kids loved it. The house is great, large rooms large family/dining room for us all to gather together. The beds are very firm as well as the pillows. We had to use pillows from the sofa. Louisa came several days to do cleaning and did excellent work. We do a lot of cooking on our family trips. There were no baking sheets, and limited pots and pans. There were enough to do what we wanted but had to cook some stuff and then reuse the pots to finish the meal. The stove is a commercial stove ant the griddle is great for cooking breakfast etc. We used the outdoor grill a lot Andre and his wife and sons were very helpful and friendly. They are wonderful people. Waves were small but big enough for the kids to do some body and boogie boarding. Snorkeling is mediocre along the rocks on the north or south ends of the beach. There are trumpet fish, manta rays, sting rays, different angel fish, star fish, eels, and sea urchins. Did a boat snorkeling trip with the kids. They had a great time. We also did a fishing trip. Restaurant next door is good. Excellent service. We ordered takeout and they delivered it to us. Very nice.

Family Trip

We had a great stay at Villa Dacquiri. Location is perfect - right on the beach and a lot of restaurants nearby. Close to other activities as well. Bret was very helpful arranging tours for us and we enjoyed all of them. Highly recommend the taco night they prepared at the Villa for us.

The perfect family getaway!

We took 13 family members, ages 1 to 75 and it was a perfect fit for us all! The rooms were spacious and we had enough privacy inside. The setting was steps from the ocean and when we tired of that we played in the large pool. With any communication needs, Brett was responsive immediately and always so friendly. It is the top 10 for us!!

Great stay

We had 4 couples stay here. Great location and best pool . We brought our own floatys. At first we were told no maid and then we said what the reviews read and We did get a maid. It wasn't clear on who was all living on the property. It was Andre and his family's as well as another gentleman that we were not aware of so some missunderstanding took place. But we did get that all cleared up.Great restaurant's in walking distance . And management did respond quickly if you had questions.Over all it was great place to stay. We would go back.

Villa Daiquiri - It is the former Bacardi Family compound built in early 1980's. Custom tile embedded in the wall entrance with the Bacardi Family "Bat" crest printed on every bottle of rum. Not ostentatious, but with several classy and unique architectural features. Built like a fortress. Largest private property on Hermosa Beach. My wife and I decided to refurbish and upgrade critical infrastructure to high standards, with trying to keep as much of the original Bacardi Family design and uniqueness. The size lends itself to large families and groups. We saw a fit to meet the needs of small to medium size Destination Weddings and unique Business meetings or YOGA Retreats. Villa Daiquiri is large enough to have the required amenities to successfully host a wedding or event, but DRAMATICALLY less expensive then neighboring 5 Star resorts. Hence providing a venue which allows the inclusion of many more guests than normally would be possible for a DESTINATION Event. Full event amenities are available including tents, seating, flowers, lighting, DJ, photographer, caterer, musicians, Wedding Planner, or bring your own. But we don't sell liquor! By supplying your own (we will facilitate) the cost differential from a resort, can pay for the entire wedding!

CLOSE to the AIRPORT! 25 Min. I grew tired hauling my family to resorts in the Caribbean or Mexico that required an hour to 3 hour drive after a many hour flight! Worse, airlines want you at airport 2-3 hours in advance upon departure. Herding all the "Cats" to get out the door at 5am (or earlier) then a long drive, then wait two more hours for flight is ridiculous! We make things EASY. Transport large or small is available. 60 additional hotel rooms and 5 restaurants within walking distance. We own an adjacent parking lot for 50+ cars/tourist vans. A wide variety of Costa Rica specialized tours and experiences are available. We also own Sun Monkey Villa (sleeps 18 & 3 minutes from Villa Daiquiri). At a recent wedding the grooms family stayed at Villa Daiquiri and the brides at Sun Monkey. Most guests at a Costa Rican destination wedding stay 4-7 days. A welcoming Gathering Party was held at Sun Monkey on Thursday, Rehearsal Dinner at Coconutz Restaurant/Brewery Friday night. Saturday wedding and reception at Villa Daiquiri and 3 sailboats chartered for guest beach day on Sunday! What a wedding for the couple and their friends and family to remember!
