Classic Beach Bungalow - Fall in Love with Cannon Beach!

I spoke to this guest when she was having trouble connecting to the wi fi and suggested trying the other pin number on the modem. In the conversation I stated that if there was still a problem to call me back and I would contact the provider. I never heard another word until this review was posted. I contacted the guests that stayed directly after her, as well as checking with my internet provider and had my property manager check the connection. All reported no problems. I try to accommodate my guests to the best of my ability but i can only do that if I know about it in the first place. I guess I should have followed up with this guest.

We always appreciate feedback from our guests but there are some issues I would like to address. Firstly and most importantly was the issue with the electrics and wiring in the house. The house was moved to this location about 10 years ago. At that time all of the electrical components had to be brought up to code. We purchased this property in October 2012 and had two inspections done, one as part of the purchase process and the City of Cannon Beach did their own inspection as part of my business licence and vacation rental permit application. We use the house ourselves and would never put ourselves, our children or our guests at risk with unsafe wiring or breaker boxes. Yes, the wiring is old but safe. I’m sorry you found the king size bed uncomfortable. I haven’t slept in the bed myself and when my brother and sister in law stayed for a week in January they said it was comfortable. Since this is the first complaint I’ve had about it we will look into it and replace the mattress if needed. The house indeed has a ‘cabiny’ smell due to the fact it is 100 years old and contains the original floor boards and bead board paneled walls. The smell just becomes part of the house. The house is professionally cleaned between guests and all the floors washed. We are a pet friendly home and dog hair can be an issue as it often floats away during vacuuming just to settle down hours later. We want to welcome people with dogs as dog lovers ourselves we know how awesome the beach is for them. We bought this house as a vacation home for ourselves and to use as a vacation rental. I am charging the same prices that the previous owner charged and have checked other properties in the area to ensure we are priced competitively. We try to accommodate our guests to the best of our ability and personally think it is a lovely old house in a great area of a beautiful city on the Oregon Coast. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste as it is an older house lacking some of the more modern conveniences. I have tried to carefully word the description to reflect that and apologize if it wasn’t what you expected. I make myself available by phone if there is a problem and we have a local management agency on hand if there are any problems during a rental period. I would hope our guests would contact me with any issues and allow me the opportunity to rectify problems or explain situations.
