Spacious 2 BR Flamingo Suite - Minutes from Mayo!

Recently remodeled home from top to bottom! A convenient 5-minute drive to Mayo Clinic. Right off a convenient highway but still has a cozy neighborhood feel. There are several parks nearby, as well as coffee shops!

This unit is part of a duplex on the 2nd floor with its own separate entrance and upstairs deck. You will enter through the front door of the house, NOT THE BACK. Flamingo Suite is Door 2 in the entryway, which leads to the upstairs unit. We (the owners) occupy the first-floor unit and are available if you need anything!

Because this is a duplex, sometimes noise does travel from upstairs to downstairs. We ask you to be courteous during quiet hours.

This newly renovated space has everything you need and completely furnished. Spacious open-living concept with two private bedrooms. There is a washer and dryer unit in the space as well for all your needs.

The bathroom is the most unique space in the suite, featuring floor-to-ceiling tile! It is considered an open-concept bathroom, so there is not a shower curtain. Rest assured that the shower water does not get on the rest of the bathroom! There are also towel mats under the sink to put down after showering if you prefer.

Off-street parking is available for one vehicle. Additional vehicles must be parked on the street.

Fast and convenient Wifi, TVs in livingroom and both bedrooms, all equipped with Roku devices. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a home-cooked meal.

We provide soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, garbage bags, towels, etc. Please let us know if you run out of anything!

Pets are accepted with a limit of 2 animals, with a $25 pet fee PER NIGHT (charged after check-in).

Short stay for dance competition

This small space was everything we needed and close to our venue. Quiet pet friendly neighborhood. Easy access and check in and out. Responsive host. Excellent layout, comfortable beds and furniture. Clean and neat. Only gave 4 stars because it’s impossible to shower without getting the bathroom floor wet and entry has steep stairs. Was not that big an issue for us but for people with mobility issues, elderly, or toddlers this is probably not the best fit.

Home away from Home

This clean, quiet property was just what we were looking for while staying in Rochester. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was spotless and felt like home right away. The kitchen had all the essentials and then some. Both beds - extremely comfortable. The host was very responsive and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The location was ideal - close enough to our appointments at the Mayo and minutes from Quarry Hill Nature Preserve where we enjoyed a beautiful hike with our dog who was staying with us. We will definitely not hesitate to look here first to book something again if we find ourselves in the area. Thank you!

Great Host & Experience

Brooke was very accommodating for my stay in Rochester, MN. There were some special accommodations that were requested and she was very willing to help. The upstairs apartment was fully a furnished 2 bedroom 1 bath (no tub). She had everything there you could think of for kitchen meal prep if that is your preference. The bath was well stocked with soaps and shampoos, etc. Family room had a tv with plenty of seating, games & puzzles under the coffee table, kitchen table for a family meal, washer/dryer and each bedroom had its own tv with a Roku set up. The backyard was under construction when there with my dog. He adapted well to the flight of stairs and taking several walks around the neighborhood. If anything was needed, Brooke was quick to respond. There are many dog parks within a short drive, a restaurant called the Purple Goat that will let dogs out on the patio and give them a dish of water. If your destination is the Gonda Bldg at Mayo Clinic you are 2.1 miles or 8 minutes from the apartment. The apartment is clean and well appointed and I would definitely stay here again.

Our fourth visit

The suite is exactly as shown. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay as well as very responsive hosts if there are any questions. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only about a 5 minute drive from the Mayo Clinic. An excellent choice!

A Mixed Bag

This is an interesting/tough property to rate. The location for us was great, the main living area was spacious, there was a Keurig coffee maker, and the appliances worked well. That’s the good stuff. The entrance to the unit has 13 fairly steep stairs, so this might be a challenge for some to navigate. And when looking out the window to the back one sees a construction yard, which isn’t the greatest ambiance. The furnishings offer plenty of places to sit and to set things, but the couch was kind of a suede texture, and it had some spots and stains, so we opted to place a sheet over it before sitting. There is also ample evidence of “going cheap” on things. Multiple applications were obviously “scratch & dent” purchases, and most of the lamps were in poor shape. The HVAC is a little wonky in that it’s all operated by a wall unit, and in our case it didn’t do that well to keep the far bedroom comfortably warm in early October. And the bathroom is quite a bit more wonky. With the roofline in this converted attic at a slant, it required ingenuity to fit a workable bathroom, which led to a “wet room” style complete with shower. But at six feet tall I was unable to stand in front of the toilet to urinate without crouching way down. And similarly I had to crouch when using the shower as well as be very careful not to hit my left arm/elbow on a shelf immediately to the left of the shower head. It required some gymnastics to complete my shower without bumping something.

Enjoyed our stay

First of all, communication with Brooke was great, and the place is a cool little spot, it’s the upstairs part of the main home. The bathroom is interesting, it’s listed as a wet room (if I remember right), no shower curtain or anything that prevents the water from splashing everywhere, but they do provide plenty of floor mats to use afterwards to dry the area. Lots of extras provided in the kitchen. Brooke did let us know that they were hoping to get the the ac unit setup for our space to be able to control before we arrived, but they had to control the temp from their space, not a problem though, they communicated this well. The backyard was under some sort of construction. Bedroom and living room were decent, most furniture and appliances are not new, but sitting & sleeping areas are comfortable and all appliances were in working order. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

NICU Stay

Our stay was a 10/10! Brooke was an AMAZING host in all aspects! She was super helpful and even helped let our dog out a couple times! It was pet friendly which was needed for our Goldendoodle. We were there for a month as we have had an extended stay in the Mayo NICU with our Twin Girls. It was quick ride to the hospital every morning. I could not recommend this VRBO enough to anyone in a similar situation! We appreciated everything!

Cozy, Convenient and close

The Flamingo suite met all of our needs! Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Close to everything we needed- store, restaurant and Mayo. Hosts were amazing, helpful but not hovering.
