`Oak Grove Bungalow’ – 3br/2.5ba in the heart of East Austin, 10 minutes from downtown. Fully-equipped kitchen, living area with a queen-sized pull-out sofa, dining area and a laundry room. Enjoy luxurious linens, comfortable beds, Smart TVs, salon-quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Fenced-in backyard has a fire pit, a wood-smoker grill, hammock and multiple seating areas.

Experience all that Austin has to offer while staying here at `Oak Grove Bungalow`! Conveniently located just 10 minutes from downtown and within walking distance to so much of the excitement East Austin has to offer, this is the perfect place for your getaway!! The 3BR/2.5BA bungalow has such a serene setting nestled in the beautiful oak trees and offers amazing amenities for a comfortable stay with everything you need!

Inside the home, you`ll have plenty of space to spread out or enjoy the open-concept living area to gather around for some delicious meals, play board games, or spend time with your travel companions! The family room offers plenty of seating, a large Smart TV, games, a vinyl record player, several vinyl records provided, and plenty of seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with items like a Keurig, coffee pot, KitchenAid stand mixer, crockpot, blender, toaster, cooking essentials, baking pans, cookie sheets, and more... you will have everything you need but the ingredients! Down the hallway, you`ll find the 1st bedroom which holds a queen-sized bed and a desk- perfect for working remotely! The 2nd bedroom holds a queen-sized bed, and its own Smart TV, and utilizes the full bathroom in the hallway with a bathtub/ shower combination. In the back of the hallway is the primary bedroom with a king-sized bed, Smart TV, and a beautiful ensuite bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower, toilet closet, double vanity, and large full-sized mirror. The hallway also holds a laundry room with a half bath!
*The Main House sleeps 6 in beds. The Airstream sleeps 2 for an additional charge.

The backyard features beautiful native greenery and a fire pit area to sit around under Texas` vast starry skies. Slow-cook authentic Texas barbecue on the wood-smoker grill, sway in the shade of the big oak trees on the hammock or relax on the shaded front porch.

In addition to this amazing house, you get an easy experience from start to finish when you book with us (A Stay Above The Rest). We have an incredible team you can call, email, and even TEXT(!) who regularly get called out by name in our homes` reviews. We are available 24/7 for our guests. There are also no keys- you get your own door code that will only work for the duration of your stay with our smart locks for extra security and peace of mind. The stay was awesome minutes away from downtown and places to eat...

Great property to spend a vacation.... Just a little issue with the locks on doors thru the house don't work properly and gate door to access the back needs to be fix very unsafe.

Home away from home

We were in town for a work project and this made the perfect home base. We had to extend our stay due to the winter storm which delayed our work and the property owner was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable place, everything works as it should. The house is nicely updated. Neighborhood isn't too interesting, but lots of places to eat and drink less than 2 miles away. I would stay here again without hesitation.

This house was great to stay at and it was a short drive to downtown! If you want the airstream, make sure to reach out to the owner and ask about it because only they can add it on to your stay.

Great trip

The property is clise to everything we wanted to see downtown. The beds were very comfortable and the showers were hot with good water pressure. Safe quiet neighborhood. Host was very fast and helpful with any questions we had. While there we wanted to extend our stay by one day and within a few minutes the stay was extended payment applied to card on file so I didn’t miss out on time with my family making arrangements. I would stay here again if I were in Austin.

Enjoyed staying there. The ad said there would be wood for the fire pit but the instructions said there is no wood have to buy it. Just make a bit more clear. Bathroom floor in laundry room is very very soft needs to be worked on. No other issues.

Comfortable bungalow

This property was comfortable for my parents and me. We were in Austin for my mom's hospital stay and follow-up doctor's appointment. The property is all one level and very accessible. The outdoor space is really inviting, and the beds are comfortable. Having items like trash bags, paper towels, and dish soap in the kitchen were very helpful. The location made for an easy drive to the medical center. My only criticism is the bungalow needs to be deep-cleaned (e.g. return air vent is very dusty, leaves & dirt under furniture, crumbs on couches, etc.).

Great property just needs to be cleaner.

Overall place was great, location, layout, décor really really nice. The property however was not as clean as it should have been. The sofa sleeper had some pretty significant stains on the mattress the area under the sofa sleeper was loaded with dirt, hair, food pretty gross. Took video send it to the contact person for the property only received a "we'll let the cleaning person know".

Solved the Crisis!

My husband was in Austin to care for his elderly mother (and sister's dog) while sister was traveling. During the record heatwave the A/C quit (for good) in their house. We rented the Oak Grove Bungalow as an escape from the 90+ degrees in the house. Mgt arranged for check-in early next day and took excellent care of them while there. It was an oasis of calm and cool while a whole new A/C system was installed at the house. Beds were comfy, furniture in good shape, well-stocked kitchen, nice area to walk dog. Very much enjoyed this safehaven.

Great location but some minor issues

We loved the location and size of this VRBO for our stay in Texas! However, we had some minor issues that were frustrating to experience such as wifi/service issues and the check in process. We did not have wifi or service for two days during our trip and our early check in (that we paid a fee for) was not communicated to the cleaning staff. We were already in the home when they came to clean and left a bunch of towels and sheets in the dryer before they left. It added some stressors to a weekend that we didn't need, but overall the property was very nice, had a great central location and was a good size for a group of 5.

A good stay, but likely won't stay in this area again

PRO: The house was very clean, easy check in/out, communicative Mgmt when needed, comfy beds, good water pressure/heat, well-supplied kitchen, cool outdoor area, good AC/heat, reasonable rules/regs. CON: The East Austin area in general - but especially parts including this neighborhood & street - is still very much being regentrified and has plenty of sketchy spots/houses. We're city people, not paranoid or skittish... but overall, we just didn't feel 100% safe. No knock on this exact rental, but until this area gets a little safer, future visits we'll stay in a different part of Austin and just visit East 6th/7th.

Great setup

Plenty of space with a comfortable layout between the kitchen and living area. We hosted my son and his girlfriend for dinner multiple times during our stay. Austin was experiencing a deep-freeze but we remained cozy and warm without any problems. The grill is actually a chamber smoker. It was not what I expected but I just changed gears with a little help from some hardwood chunks purchased at the local H-E-B and we had some wonderful smoked pork chops. The first night was warm enough to use the fire pit and front patio, the setup was perfect for four to sit around the fire. I will look to rent this place again when I return to Austin.

Wonderful Getaway Spot

Booked this last minute for an impromptu family trip that consisted of 6 people and a pet. Booking was super convenient and communication was almost instant. Any minor issues were promptly resolved and the hosts checked in each day to make sure our stay was comfortable. The property itself was WONDERFUL. Ample room for the entire family (child and pet included) and they were able to arrange an early booking last minute (additional charge). Layout/furniture allowed for family/group gathering. House was fully functional and in great condition. Very lovely. We are excited to book the property again on our next trip! They also have an airstream (additional charge) which is so cool in case more room or privacy is needed for the bigger groups! The amenities were as promised, a working bbq pit, fire pit, privacy fence, bikes and location was prime. Plenty of great eating and drinking spots around town. Overall great experience!

You can relax outside by the fire pit, slow-cook authentic Texas barbecue on the wood-smoker grill wood-smoker grill, and hammock where you can sway in the shade of the big oak trees. And yes, there is an Airstream available if your party needs the extra room. Just message us to see how you can have that added on! Airstream/Bungolow Stay

It is as advertised, "Bungalow" a bit on the smallish side. The location was good but definitely need a car to get around town. There had been some resent storms so the yard and Air-stream deck was messy and not cleaned up. Kitchen was very well appointed, were able to make meals for 6 or7 people no problem. Nice master bedroom and on suite w/ shower. We paid the extra $150.00 for the Air Stream trailer nice inside but kind of felt a little uneasy in the security department with only one way to lock it from inside, and the neighborhood seemed at times a little uncomfortable. As someone, local it seemed came to our front door and ask us for cash money. And other person came and moved the trash cans out to the curb for pick up and then came and put them back not saying a word to us. Don't know if that was the owner or neighbor or what it just felt odd. Though overall it was very well appointed and nice thoughtful amenities just real nice place to stay.

We do apologize for the condition of the yard and Airstream deck but we did have quite a few storms during that time which thwarted our best efforts to keep those areas clean. We assure you that the neighborhood is safe and Oak Grove is one of our most popular homes. We recently acquired a new trash service to take the trash cans to and from the curb for the trash service so as not to disturb our guests but thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will let them know that it is perfectly fine to interact with our guests should they be out and about while they are there. We value our guests feedback for without that, we would be unable to continue to grow and provide the best experience for our guests, so thank you for bringing this to our attention. It was a pleasure hosting you and we hope to do so again soon!
