Syracuse Getaway Your Home Away from Home

Entire home located in the heart of Syracuse. It’s just 5 min from St. Joseph Hospital, Upstate Medical, Hancock Airport, Destiny USA Mall and Syracuse University. Please note the house is located in a culturally diverse area. We have a driveway as well as plenty street parking. There are many restaurants and convenience stores in the area within minutes of our home. My place is the perfect getaway for remote work or to getaway from the busy city. NO SMOKING or parties!!

For your safety and the security of the property, there are security cameras located outside the home in the following areas:

Front door: Covers the entryway and faces outward.
Side of the house: Monitors the side/driveway
Back of the house: Monitors the back area
These cameras are used solely for security purposes. There are no cameras inside the property, ensuring your privacy during your stay.

Great place

This place was as pictured, clean and comfortable. The location was okay as well no complaints and I felt very safe. I now have a place I can recommend to family and friends visiting Syracuse.

The house was nice. The neighborhood seemed to be rough but the security features of this place makes you feel safe. We would definitely stay again.

Rented this house to attend my son’s graduation. It was great for 5 people. Only one bathroom but it worked out. The house was clean, the beds comfortable and although the area looks a bit run down, it was quiet, safe and easy to get in and out. We had a great 2-day stay.

2 Night Stay

1. Upon arrival we could not find the pass code for the door in the correspondence we had. 2. The two telephone numbers provided - The first one no one answered and coulld not leave a message. The 2nd number we left a message (no one called back), finally on another attempt later we made contact and were given the code for the door. This ordeal was very lengthy and frustrating. The neighborhood/location was less than acceptable.

Demanding a refund!

When my family and I drove up to the property, we were STUNNED at how unsafe we felt, just being on the street in the car! We spoke to the cleaning lady, who was finishing up, and SHE told my husband that we should not stay here, especially at night! It took all but 1 minute for a guy to come up to our car and ask us if we had any DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE to get my money back. I spend quite a bit of money on this rental and had to get a hotel room at the Hampton Inn which cost me even more money. I MUST SPEAK TO SOMEONE! My husband and I are furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As previously mentioned and even after speaking with you we disclosed that the neighborhood had nothing to do with our property or the accuracy of the listing. Prior to booking we show the street that he house is on. People like you don’t read and then try to make hosts look bad. I wish you well. You will not be getting your money back from us and I’m sure VRBO denied your request as well because we did NOTHING wrong which is why you left this bad review.

#1 Don't Stay Here! #2 Thank God that VRBO protects their renters!

The description of the property does not reflect what I encountered. The property is in a very rough neighborhood, and the description of it being culturally diverse is a stretch unless the diversity consists of drug addicts, prostitutes and unsheltered. The property next door and others on the street had boarded up windows. The street looked very unsafe. This was not gentrification in process but unfortunately a neighborhood in distress. We proceeded to unload and put our food and clothing away. As I went into the smaller bedroom to hang up my clothes, I saw a MOUSE running through the house. It ran from the bedroom and into the living room. It was at that moment that I decided we had to leave this property and that I was going to go to the Marriott. I sent the owner a note through the app and she very kindly told me that they take precautionary and deep cleaning measures and if we were uncomfortable that we could cancel the reservation. When I went to cancel the reservation, the app communicated that a refund was not possible so I asked the owner to help with getting my refund. She very kindly told me no because the refunds are strictly non-refundable and those dates were reserved for me. I told her that this was an extenuating circumstance and that I hoped she would help. She did not but after 2 hours with VRBO and supplying documentation including a picture of the RAT box outside the home they were able to help. Just beware of this place.

Concerning the cleanliness of the property, we take our cleaning procedures very seriously and ensure that each guest has a clean and comfortable space. We regret that you encountered a mouse and can assure you that this is not a common occurrence. Pest control measures, including the use of exterior bait boxes, are standard in urban environments and part of our proactive approach to maintaining a clean property. We understand that you chose to leave and sought a refund. As you mentioned, our cancellation policy is clearly stated as non-refundable, which ensures fairness and availability for all our guests. While we respect your decision to seek a different accommodation, our policies are in place to maintain a consistent experience for all our guests. We're glad that VRBO was able to assist you, and we hope that your next stay is more in line with your expectations.

Hiking Weekend in Syracue

Very cute bungalow. Check in process was great, was even allowed to check in 90 minutes early :) Some things that could make stay nicer, only a set of dishes/silverware for 4 people. Rugs in bedroom and bath are beautiful however very slippery. Overall would recommend this location for hiking around Syracuse.

Convenient to the hospital, very clean inside, convenient walk in shower. Owner quick to respond. A few minor cosmetic repairs needed, couldn’t get the Tv in the back room to work, but was very grateful to have a place to meet with my elderly parents.
