Physician`s Flat - Condo in the heart of town

First floor in-town apartment with 3 bedrooms, (2 Bedrooms with Queen Bed, 1 Bedroom with Full bed) 1 bathroom with tub/shower, full kitchen, living room, dining room and private laundry facilities.

We provide books, games, TV & WiFi for rainy days and down time. The space is great for a flexcation or vacation year round. There is also a small nook with desk and chair for work or personal duties.

Formerly a physician`s office, you may notice the quirky layout. The dining room occupies the original receptionist`s office. The bedrooms are former exam rooms. The living room used to be the waiting area, etc. We hope you enjoy the history of the building as much as we do!

The flat is in a great location, on a side street just a few steps away from bakeries, restaurants and other goods and services. We are equidistance in each direction to Bar Island, Hannaford`s Grocery, and amenities such Cadillac Mountain Sports, Rosalies Pizza, Criterion Theatre, and Side Street Cafe. Walk to it all!

Located on a quaint side street, steps away from all town has to offer. Two parking spaces included in the rental.

We live in our year round home in town. We are a short call and time away if you need our assistance.

Very Walkable, Biking, access to Island Explorer Bus

As lifelong locals, we feel like this is one of the best spots in town. You can walk out your door and be steps away from a local bakery, old fashioned candy store, brewery, shopping and dining. You are also equidistance from the local grocery store (Hannaford`s) and restaurants and retail. It is the best of both. We love to be able to offer 2 free parking spaces with the rental, which is rare in town.

The Flat used to be our current family physician`s office for many years. We love to own and transform a space that so many town and personal family history and memories.

Cannot beat the location. Walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. The Physician's Flat was very clean and incredibly well stocked with supplies throughout.

Perfect

The location was perfect. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants, and even a good size grocery store. Yet it was still very quiet. Easy drive to Acadia. The hosts provided everything we needed and more. They communicated clearly without being bothersome like some hosts can be. It worked perfectly for our family vacation.

Feel like a local in Bar Harbor

My husband and I rented this cozy first floor apartment for a four night stay in Bar Harbor. While we only needed one bedroom, it would be a perfect spot for a family with children thanks to having three bedrooms. It's location was perfect - tucked onto a street right in town. You can literally walk everywhere! And they have thought of everything in terms of conveniences: back-up toiletries, coffee station, kitchen essentials, washer/dryer, games, local guidebooks, etc.

Excellent Fall Break in Bar Harbor

We stayed here with our teenage daughter during our first trip to Maine. The location of this flat is perfect. We walked everywhere downtown. It was so clean and cozy and stocked with most everything we needed. We enjoyed game nights after a few days of hiking in Acadia. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved it!

The Physicians Flat had everything we needed for our stay with our baby. We were very comfortable. And it was a great location to walk into town but had very little street noise. We would gladly stay here again.

Perfect place in a perfect location

The flat is adorable and super clean. I loved the quirkiness! The hosts have so many things available in case you forget something which is so thoughtful. The location is perfect. My son and I walked everywhere. It never took more than 10 minutes to get to our destination. There is a grocery store, Walgreens, many restaurants and quaint shops all within walking distance. The only time we got in the car was to go hiking at Acadia and to go see the sunrise at Cadillac mountain. The drive was a few minutes away. We spent 4 nights there. I wish I had planned for a couple more. There is so much to do in the area. I will definitely plan another trip there and wouldn't hesitate to book our stay at the Physician's Flat. Thank you hosts!

Perfect Location

The physician flat was the perfect location for walking around Bar Harbor. It was filled with all of the little things we didn’t know we needed. And the owners had suggestions for everything from where to eat to the best hiking trails to good running routes. Would definitely recommend staying here. We were there with our 4 daughters. Everyone loved the flat, the town and Acadia.

Fantastic Stay in Bar Harbor

We loved our stay at the Physician's Flat Condo. The location was perfect—a one-minute walk to restaurants and shops and a very easy drive to Acadia Park. The amenities in the condo made our time even more enjoyable, and the hosts left a goodie basket, which was so thoughtful and appreciated. The hosts were very communicative and responded immediately to our concerns (we had a little trouble with the lock on the front door). We will definitely go back.

Best Location! And all the little extras!

Such a wonderful home away from home for my family for the last few days. We enjoyed the location so very much. Convenient to everything - we walked to shops, restaurants, bike rentals, the sand bar/Bar Island and event the Grocery! The home has so many little touches that go above and beyond. The basket of local snacks were clutch when we drove in from Portland Sat night after 11 pm! The coffee station was amazing with everything you need even Before you go to the store! Bathroom shelves stocked! And we used the laundry more than I thought we would - everything provided! We also really appreciated the ziplock bags & to-go cups with lids - we packed snacks for our rides and hikes, and took coffee to Cadillac sunrise! It made everything just so much easier on me!!! My daughter and I read the Welcome notebook front to back and even took a pic of the restaurant list - and we used so many of your tips/suggestions! If you are planning to go to Bar Harbor - THIS is the place to stay.

Incredible Bar Harbor stay

We absolutely loved our stay at the Physician’s Flat! It was exactly as pictured and right in the center of town, just a short drive to Acadia. The rental was very comfortable and very well decorated. It had all of the essentials, and then some. We’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this definitely ranked at the top! We would absolutely recommend and would return. The area itself is amazing - we loved exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor and surrounding towns.

Fabulous location and lots of thoughtful touches

Lovingly preserved historic property with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. The home was very comfortable with good mattresses, sofas and great appliances. It was well stocked with no scrimping on anything and very straightforward guidelines. The hosts also left lots of rainy day activities for kids and terrific guidebooks for hikers. We would definitely stay here again

Wonderful location and House!

We all throughly enjoyed our stay at the physicians flat in downtown Bar Harbor. It was walking distance to downtown, w walking distance to the grocery store and conveniently located to drive to Acadia! You could even bike to the biking trails if you are motivated! They had everything you need to cook and have a comfortable stay. We highly recommend this Vacation home and plan on returning next year! The owners are very responsive and helpful! You can tell that they truly care about your experience!

Amazing property, superb location

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property. The host was very responsive and helpful and there were many thoughtful touches in the condo. We especially enjoyed the easy walk to restaurants and the waterfront and the shops of Bar Harbor. We highly recommend this property.

We are a local year round family who loves our island and community, and is so excited to share it with you.

When we are not rental hosts, you will find us teaching outdoor recreation, education, health, and coaching cross country at the local high school, and operating a local small business in Ellsworth, called Restaurant Barn. (Come check us out, we are across from Pat’s Pizza and have lots of fun cooking and eating equipment!)

We use the park everyday, for outdoor adventures big and small. Whether it is a hike up Dorr Mountain, a bike ride around Eagle Lake, or a kayak paddle on Long Pond.

Bar Harbor is an amazing place year round. We serve on the Bar Harbor Food Pantry and Parks and Rec. Committees, the Rotary, and thee Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce. As you enjoy your stay, if you have suggestions for the rental or town please feel free to share them in a note or email. We always welcome feedback to make your stay in our home or town the best it can be.

We hope you enjoy the town and area as much as we do. There is so much to offer; hiking, biking, kayaking, nature tours, dining, shopping, entertainment, and so much more!
