I rented this house for my bachelorette wedding and it was so cute! The location to the beach was perfect and the neighborhood was so quiet. We had a blast.

This is a great pace to stay on Oak Island! We loved the views and chilling on the balconies. Being a both a short walk to the beach and a kayak launch site was wonderful. The house was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. David was a great host and very responsive. We will definitely come back

This property was great! The location was a quick walk to the beach. The house had all the beach items we could have needed-tent, chairs, wagon, boogie boards etc. All of the decks were great to sit outside and enjoy the view and the space inside was perfect for us. We will def stay here again!

Everthing was perfect. House was very clean and had everything we needed. We also rented a golf cart for the week and proved to be very useful even with being so close to the beach access. We will definitely be back next year. Main bedroom needs a king bed. Currently there is a queen but room.has plenty of room for a king. That was the only negative thing i could find to say.

Perfect Stay

The house was very nice with a great layout. Checkin and checkout was painless. The upstairs kitchen and living area are great for families looking to eat and gather together. Location to the beach was an easy walk, less than 5 minutes to the access point. I would definitely go back to this house for future stays!

Great OKI Vacation Home!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Oak Island Vacation home. Great location with amazing views of both the ocean and the Intracoastal waterway. Short walk to two different public beach access points. The back porch was a favorite spot for our family to relax and hang out. Kitchen, living and dining areas are very spacious with plenty of seating. The entire home was very welcoming, clean and well appointed. Also plenty of beach equipment, chairs, umbrellas, bikes, etc. Instructions from and communication with the owner was very prompt and courteous which is always a plus.
Back porch was a favorite spot for our crew.

My husband and I went on a little vacation before we are a family of 3 with a group of friends. The house was amazing and looked exactly like the pictures. It was nice and clean and we really enjoyed all the outdoor seating! Definitely will book again

Wonderful beach stay!

A beautiful house in a more relaxed area of OKI! We love coming to Oak Island and were so happy to find this gem on a quieter part of the island The house was very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, and has great views of both the marsh and ocean! We spent time relaxing on the decks, and it was a short walk to the beach. Dave was responsive and quick to any questions. They were super thoughtful with extra amenities. The wagon was especially helpful when we were taking things to the beach. They have a great selection of games and there is a lot of space for people to hang out. Thanks for providing us a great house for my family to enjoy our vacation! We hope to come again for our next one!

Beauty at the Beach

When our long-awaited beach vacation was threatened by Tropical Storm Debby, we were grateful that the owner allowed us to shift our arrival date by one day so that the worst of the storm could pass. We were delighted to discover that the house was as lovely as it appeared in the photos. The house is well decorated and had everything we needed to make our vacation comfortable. Since we were traveling with a four-year-old and an infant, the easy access to the beach and the availability of a wagon were greatly appreciated. The view of the canal from the back decks was stunning. My son set up his scope to watch birds every day. We like being on the quiet side of Oak Island. The house itself was very quiet - when we were downstairs, we could not hear people talking on the second floor. We would definitely reserve this house if we return to Oak Island. The house is well suited for a multi-generation family trip.

Most restful week ever!

This was our first visit to Oak Island and it did not disappoint! Quiet, beautiful, while providing just enough to do for teens that were with us! The house was so spacious with plenty of anything you might need! The beach chairs, bikes, and umbrellas were a huge bonus and saved us car space! The deck off the kitchen overlooking the marsh is where we spent a ton of time. The sunsets as we sat there eating dinner were spectacular! Definitely a week to remember and can’t wait to visit again! Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

Great location, spacious home with fantastic views

Our family of 4 adults/2 grandkids had a great time at the Mayer home. Kids loved the twin bedroom - especially the wall murals and stuffed crab, octopus and turtle. Home met our needs for comfort and space. Wish list - a hammock on the rear deck overlooking the marsh - the breeze there was fantastic with beautiful sunsets/sunrises. Kids liked playing the ring toss game. Access was easy with key code and checkout very simple. Appreciated use of beach wagon, chairs, bikes and boogie boards and short walk to beach. Location is in a quiet neighborhood with close proximity to beach and The Point. Dave responds quickly to any questions. We would rent this property again.

First timers

For many in my group, this was our first time in OKI. This house and Dave made our trip easy and memorable! There were so many things at the house to help us enjoy it and the beach. We loved hanging out on the multiple decks and the giant sectional was the perfect gathering spot our late night conversations.

I'm Dave Mayers, and I'm so delighted you're considering or have booked time at our vacation home in Oak Island. I reside mostly at our home in Charlotte, NC, and am married with 3 children ranging in age from a freshman in high school, to a senior in college.

I work for a large consulting company, and I personally specialize in providing software services and consulting for power utilities, gas utilities and water utilities. I've also been an avid real estate investor since 2005, investing mostly in single family rental houses in the Charlotte area.

The recent purchase of this home on Oak Island is a departure for me, both in terms of type of real estate investing, and location. It is perhaps the first step towards retirement, with this house likely becoming a future full time residence for me and my wife. In the interim, it is a place for us to vacation and to pour our heart and soul into shaping and molding. I've always had what I call a "passion for place", and love to take overlooked properties and create something special. I've done this for years in typical residential areas of Charlotte - but having a canvas like this one on Oak Island by the ocean has infused me with a new energy and passion.

I'm genuinely excited to share our home with you, and hope that it gives you the coastal experience you're seeking, perhaps with a unique flair. In fact, one of the things I'm most looking forward to is hearing your feedback after you've had the chance to vacation here - something I didn't get with my residential properties with tenants who lived there for a year or more! Your real time feedback will help me focus my "passion for place" into continuously improving the property in ways I may not have previously considered.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

I purchased this property because of its location on the quieter western side of Oak Island. Also, I felt that this property was unique with its combination of both easy and quick beach access, along with unparalleled views of the Davis Canal from the expansive back deck. Additionally, I was compelled by the fact that this custom built home had never been rented, and was recently updated inside. I personally invested heavily on upgrading the exterior with paint, and with brand new decks to complete the vision of a superior Oak Island vacation home.

This house is unique in that it features both fantastic ocean views, and views of the Davis Canal (which are perhaps even more spectacular). Also, the house has been recently modernized and upgraded, and has never previously been rented until this year (2022). While the house is setup to sleep up to 8 people, it could easily host groups of up to 16 for meals and/or family gatherings with its expansive living and dining areas, making it an ideal central location for extended family gatherings who may be renting nearby.
